Everyone wants to be King, but Jace actually proves true kingship. Out of everyone, he has been the most successful at actually gaining alliances through diplomacy. He got the greybeards from Cregan Stark in the North, he got safety and support from Jeyne Arryn in the Vale, and now he's secured the crossing at the Twins from the Freys. He might be young and wants to fight, but he is also not so rash as to not understand the importance of diplomacy that even many adults do not seem to grasp. He would actually one day make a great king.
Will he become king?
@@prince-sorcerervasily9068 spoilers, likely not. in the books he dies in a battle
@avriixia F*CK I love Jace and his little tantrums lol

@@EMANUGARC Yes, indeed you are
So just fyi, but Daemon was only three when his mother died, so he actually doesn't really know her. It's why he got so into that vision because he actually doesn't know what his mother looked like 😅

"The KING. Has. THIRD DEGREE BURNS!"

Vermithor and Silverwing arent wild dragons, the 3 wild ones are Sheepstealer, Grey ghost and the Cannibal.
I want to see the Cannibal on screen
@@breezy3392 while it would be great, it's likely not happening for money reasons. Vhagar was being textured on 42 PCs if I remember correctly, thats 42 separate artists. Cannibal is as large or larger than Vhagar. Vermithor is also going to be a pain

I think Cole really got PTSD from dragon warfare
Good.
He’s literally the reason the dragon even came. Whomp whomp
@@DelightfulElectricCar There are many reasons not to support the blacks, but one becomes blinded when looking at things with 21st century glasses instead of 12th century glasses. Viserys' deep love for Aemma Arryn was part of what made him drop hundreds of years of tradition to place Rhaenyra on the throne. A daughter, instead of a son. He never got over Aemma's death, paying little attention to his children with Alicent. It was selfish of Viserys and helped to cause this war. Imagine if in present day a leader decided to break tradition and instead of having a democratic vote, installs their son or daughter as president. You can't be shocked when civil war ensues.
Rhaenyra brazenly fathering bastards as well, who would succeed her upon her death. That is a stench too foul for many of the Lords and Ladies supporting the Greens. This angle isn't often thought of due to people looking at this from a modern lens and hyper fixating on what we would describe as sexism.
@@fairshareofdrownedsoulsbut we have DEMOCRACY and then they had power in blood so don’t compare that
@fairshareofdrownedsouls that's a very fair analysis, I didn't see it that way and I read the book. I'm still team black but it's good to have another perspective.

Goddamn, the internet is full of softies.
I saw someone making a joke about Daemon playing Luigi’s Mansion during war and can’t stop thinking about it every time he shows up on the screen lol
Not only is Harrenhal enormous, it is also centrally located. For this reason, the Riverlands tend to see the most bloodshed in any war, even if the war did not begin there.
Suddenly Jace became ridiculously attractive this episode 😂😂 I'm so proud of him! Him and Baela are so precious as a couple. Such open and vulnerable communication and unspoken respect.
I'm not getting romance vibes from them. They seem happy to be engaged, but they relate to each other more like cousins (which they also are).
@@pajamaparty01 I agree, not getting those vibes YET. But they have a solid foundation
@pajamaparty01
Yeah they are technically cousins three different ways. They are third cousins through Viserys and Rhaenys, second cousins through Daemon and Rhaenyra, and first cousins through Leanor and Laena. Damn I just gave myself a headache. 😂😂
Are they the only functional couple on this show?
@@breezy3392 Absolutely lol
The guy at the bar wasn’t claiming to be a watered down targ. He was claiming to be the bastard son of Baelon the father of Viserys and Daemon which would make him their bastard brother if true. Half targ so just as much targ as Alicent’s kids. Rhaenyra has 2 white haired targ parents so she is more targ than her siblings but Jace and Joff would be half and then the 2 kids between Daemon and Rhaenrya closer to 100% again.
I'm starting to think that's also why there's a focus on that builder guy that also has white hair, maybe a 4th brother that will join the war?
@@Randomyoutubecommenter Oh definitely. They have to be doing that with all the new characters.
How are Jace and Joff half Targs? Rheanyra is not full Targaryen. Viserys is half Targaryen since one of his ancestor is a Velaryon. Aemma is quarter Targaryen (Velaryon and Arryn ancestry). Rheanyra is *38%* Targ. So Joff and Jace would be *19%* Targaryen only.
Aegon, Helaena, Aemond & Daeron would be *25%* Targs.
@@rexibhazoboa7097 The mother of Aegon the Conqueror and his sisters was a Velaryon as well. That "pure blood" thing is probably bullshit anyway. If you go further down the line to Daenerys, she also has Martell, Blackwood, Rogare and Dayne ancestors. Yet she rides one and controls 2 more dragons despite being far from 100% Targaryen.
@@DuTube333 I was using the same logic the commenter used. I aswell find the “half targ” thing kinda bull.
nice touch showing the small folk having to eat rotten lemons while Cole is using lemon to clean his sword.
Like every other soldier probably. God every chance to hate on Cole its annoying
Daemon is sleeping on a bed made of Weirwood and Targaryen's are known to be "dreamers" like Viserys and Haelana. Harrenhal lies across from the Isle of Faces, aka lots of Weirwood trees. Daemon just needs to GTFO away from Harrenhal.
Or find a bed that’s not made of weirwood
When Old Gods magic meets Targaryen fire magic...things get crazy (even if it's only crazy inside Daemon's head lol)
@@Andrew2k18not just the bed it's the whole castle but the bed makes it worse
In ep 2, Daemon said the Tullys and the Riverlands had that largest undeclared host at 40,000 men, they are 100% in trouble if those Riverlords choose to fight against Rhaenyra because of Daemon's unforced errors.
Yeah Daemon has seriously f-ed
13:05 "The DUCK? Am I f***ing a duck?" cracked me up so hard 🤣
She is for sure a skinchanger to a barn owl. "I don't hear whispers, what I hear, I hear on the wind."
Also I never noticed until this episode when that guy that's kinda like samwell tarly but is a strong looked over at her spot and she disappeared, I don't think she's real or she transformed into an owl and flew away 😂
Maybe. She's a woman of mystery that Alys. I'd really like to see a conversation with her and Simon, to gage more of what her role is at the castle, what her relation to the Strong family is, hints to her age, and if Simon suspects she is working with Larys, etc... (and we should remember that whatever Alys is in the show is probably only a theory of who she really is in the books).
@@pajamaparty01 Well for a while there I thought Larys maybe a skinchanger but as a rat as he seems to know so much but yeah there's lots of great theories out there. I definitely think Alys is working with Larys or at the least he knows how Alys operates and will distract Daemon. Gray Area channel has some theories about Alys and that her barn owl reference could be a hint to her house, the barn owl is the symbol of the House Mertyns of Mistwood Castle and thinks she may have ties to Blood Raven and are against the Others. Or she could be on the opposite side of the long game, Gray has another fun theory that Alys may be a descendant of the White Walkers (they did breed with humans at one point the tale of the "Knight's King" the 13th lord commander of the Night's Watch that married a female white walker and had children with her as the story goes) and wants to thwart the Targayrian plans so the Others will win, very interesting.
I'd wager she's not real. He's having visions of Rhaenyra and Laena. She's one too.
I was so satisfied to see the last of Alicent's power stripped away. I know people feel bad for Aegon but he is also a serial sexual predator too. Parading Meleys's head was a bad choice to make. Daemon is just tripping balls at this point. Jace, Baela and Mysaria and becoming my faves. I love the team up with Mysaria and Rhaenyra. I'm excited for next week!
I love how Alicent tried to take over in Aegon's place WHEN SHE KNOWS FULL WELL THAT THE ENTIRE REASON THERE IS WAR IN THE FIRST PLACE IS BECAUSE THE GREENS (HER SIDE) HAS THIER PANTIES IN A BUNCH OVER "A WOMAN BEING IN POWER." That's the WHOLE REASON all these people and kids are dying in the 1st place Alicent!!!!
You know what’s funny about this whole situation it was only house Lannister, Hightower and some smaller lords that had a problem with it and was kicking up a big stink everyone else didn’t care the small folk didn’t care. Otto was an idiot he said the realm would split apart because of rhaenyra being a woman and yet he is the one that split it up to begin with starting the dance and he was basing everything on chance by starting this it was at most 50/50 chance even less that the realm wouldn’t accept rhaenyra but that is nothing that rhaenyra couldn’t deal with if it ever came to it. Otto destroyed everything on a whim and a small chance he didn’t even bother to give rhaenyra a goddam chance to try and prove herself as a worthy queen.
Man, what a tragic character Aegon is. He obviously has his flaws and has done some pretty heinous things, but so has Rhaenyra. Aegon was forced into a birthright he never wanted, ignored and not loved for almost his entire life, finally got the love and acceptance he wanted his entire life from the common people upon his coronation only to be betrayed by his brother whenever he tries to prove himself in the eyes of his Council and Family. Aegon is a MASTERFULLY written tragic character.
I'm with you that Aegon is a very complex character, but it seems a bit much to compare his flaws to Rhaenyra's. Obviously Rhaenyra had the better upgringing and got lucky in comparison, but her errors thus far have been at worst being entitled (by carelessly having children with Harwin) and having strangers murdered (the guy that died in Laenor's place so that she could marry Daemon). Aegon, on the other hand, seems to be a serial rapist to Helaena's maids, and keeps his bastard's kids (which are said to be many) on fighting pits. While neither is fully black or white, there's a lot more depravity going on with him, it's understandable that not everyone is gonna be sympathetic
@@juliag6126 I’m with you entirely. It is a bit much to compare Aegon to Rhaneyra, despite the obvious flaws in both’s characters. Aegon has obviously done a bit more absolutely grotesque and morally-incorrect deeds, but I would dare argue that Aegon had a more grotesque upbringing in comparison to Rhaneyra. Maybe not the right word, but I would say Aegon’s childhood was maybe far more rough than Rhaneyra’s which explains why he is the way he is now, as a coping mechanism. I’m not justifying his actions in anyway, but it is easy to empathize with him somewhat instead of sympathizing.
Guys, they have introduced Corlys’ illegitimate sons for a reason.
I finally caught that (dragonrider?) this show...knew he was important...
The question with the boys from Hull (in the show and book) is either Corlys has Targaryen ancestry which we are never told about (there is no Velaryon family tree in the books), or you don't actually have to be from a Dragon Lord family to do it.
Maybe you only have to have Valyrian ancestry, or maybe anyone can do it if a Dragon takes a liking to you???? There's still so much we don't know about the Dragon bond and whatever they put in the show is basically just a guess on part of the writers (unless George verifies it afterwards).
@@pajamaparty01 I think a certain book character in Fire and Blood shows that you don't actually have to have Targaryen blood to ride a dragon. However, George refuses to confirm this outright, since he keeps saying the rest of the dragon bond will be explained in TWoW (if we ever get it).
@@pajamaparty01 Well there were dragonlords in Old Valyria that weren't Targaryen. They weren't even the most powerful dragonlord family actually, but seemingly the only surviving. So there is a good possibility you may only need Valyrian blood which would make the Valeryons suitable, but that may not even be a requirement. Maybe the dragons can sense it so it just helps with bonding/being claimed. I think the Targaryens also just naturally have better advantage due to their dragon blood.
It's Americans culture bang with his own mother and own sister
18:40 Ser Crispy's face when he realizes that he's sleeping on the sofa tonight.
Alys Rivers is causing his hallucinations, that is why she brought up his mother who died when he was a baby. Sure Harrenhal is haunted but Alys is making things worse for Daemon.
The Rat Catcher's dog even LOOKS like Seymore, Fry's dog from Futurama. It's entirely intentional.
26:58 I don’t think Cody realized the significance of that moment. Daemon just lost the entirety of the river lands All 40,000 or however many were left maybe except the blackwoods. Daemon didn’t just lose them for himself but he lost them for the Queen as well might’ve even sent them to team green.
He hasn't lost them all but hes hurt his chances of them coming to his side .

It's not a stretch to search for the half bloods to ride the dragons. Jon Snow is a half blood, and he was legitimate heir to the iron throne.
Not to mention Rhaenyra's kid.
Yeah but rhaneyra's strong kids aren't legitimate, they of course can be dragon riders but not legitimate heir, only her and daemon's sons are legitimate heir to the throne.

@@natsudragneel8466 Is this a spoiler?
@@sproductionsinc yup sorry i written without thinking
@@natsudragneel8466 Her relationship with Aemond has nothing to do with what her connection could be to Larys. Alys and Larys' true motives are very mysterious in the book and show, and since they might be related I could see them being in cohoots. Alys is certainly connected to Old God shit, and there's a pretty good theory that Larys is a skinchanger (in the show, not in the book).
Alys is so much more than someones 'wife'.
Larys / Alys
Same name but Larys has an R.

Not really but it’s probably intentional bc GRRM takes great care in naming characters. ♥️
Lol we keeping forgetting viserys was Aegon, Aemond and Halaena’s dad 😂
The lady they sent to King’s Landing is one of Rhaenyra’s lady’s in waiting. I think her name is Elinda. She was there at the birth of her children last year, and she has been in several scenes with her this year. She was the one who came in earlier when Rhaenyra was talking to Mysaria to ask if Rhaenyra wanted to eat. And she was in the room for the fight between the twins in episode two. Apparently she is the daughter of one of the Lords who sit on her Council. I’m not quite sure if this isn’t a role that they promoted this actor to this season. Because last season I thought that she was a midwife and I didn’t think that was a position for a noble lady. But all the things that they have had her doing this year are typical for a lady in waiting.
LMAO what was that intro 😆 This is why I love you guys
I don't think this is what you meant but the idea of the council making Rhaenys the regent is hysterical
You do realize Alicent didn’t raise Aemond alone, right? Viserys is also his father so stop throwing all the fault in her shoulder. And also she’s a victim, the girl didn’t want to have children with that old ass man she was manipulated by her father. How can you expect her to be a good mother in this awful condition she was put in?
Viserys was basically dying during most of these kids lives, and especially during those years when the children needed the most guidance. Alicent situation was not ideal and it's understandable that she might not have developed that 'motherly love' because of father, losing her mother etc.. but she was also enabling a lot of her kid's bad behaviors and fueling a lot of hatred/divide within the family because of her issues with Rheanyra. She is not blameless, regardless of circumstances.
I'm a little confused about the Harrenhal part but I don't think anyone see's Alys Rivers but Daemond. Simon Strong always looks in the direction Daemond stares at but never interact with Alys, I don't know? I'm waiting for the better Daemond to finally take action.
Alys is a real person
Simon Strong gave her a look (of apprehension I think) at one point in this episode. Definitely looked right at her, not just in her direction. Alys' true origin and purpose is a mystery, and I'd love a conversation between her and Simon to better gage what exactly her connection to the Strong family is.
And Alys will interact with other characters in the future (especially Princes). Unless Ryan Condal has really gone off the edge with changing things from the book.
You guys are my FAVORITE reactors to HOTD ever 🖤
4:12 “The dragon flames had burned so hot that the king’s armor had fused to his flesh.”
Harrenhal is an unparalleled strategic position both in the peace and wartime. It provides large holdings, a great standing and vast opportunities for profit to whoever possesses it. That is why everyone wants it regardless of its state and the challenges of maintaining even a portion of it.
9:57 “Rhaenyra remains our rightful queen, and mine own blood besides, an Arryn on her mother’s side. In this world of men, we women must band together. The Vale and its knights shall stand with her.” - Lady Jeyne Arryn, the Maiden of the Vale
The storyline involving Daemon and Alys Rivers, particularly the supernatural elements at Harrenhal, is both intriguing and well-executed. As a reader of the books, I find the portrayal of Alys Rivers by the actress to be exceptional. Her ability to hold her own alongside Matt Smith is impressive, and her performance effectively conveys the character's mysterious motivations and ambitions. This nuanced portrayal adds depth to the character, enhancing the overall narrative of the show.
Looking at the scenes with Daemon, I had a strong feeling that I was playing The Witcher 3 and restoring Kaer Morhen. Yennefer in the form of the witch Alys is also available. Unfortunately, this is not a compliment to the series, but it is funny.
16:00-16:05 Cody: "Larys is coming for you Criston."
In the context of what was said a few seconds earlier. Eww. Thanks for giving me that mental picture.
17:50-17:52 Bridgette: "Slap him"
Oh, geez no! Remember what that leads to! She slaps him, she slaps him again, she shoves him, then they get nasty. This is in public!
31:00-31:25 What Rhaenyra could do with Samwell Tarly at her disposal in this moment..
“A Tarly on a dragon,” just imagine poor Sam on the Black Dread 😂
The maiden you see leave Dragonstone to go to King's Landing is Edwina -- she has been with Rhaenyra for a very long time - you can see her with her in King's Landing and again during the birth of Daemon and Rhaenyra's daughter. She was also in the room with her when Arryk and Erryk fought. During the fight Rhaenyra told her to run to get the other Queensguard.
Dude was in a halucination within a halucination that shit was wild. Also i love how the Freys in this period are almost like the Tyrells in GOT as i got heavy Lady Olenna vibes in how the couple acted or whether that was his mother
Bringing the dragons head through the streets, shows whilst Cole is a proven commander in the battlefield, he lacks the understadning of the politics needed to be the hand of the king. Ser otto would have know pararding a dead dragon was a bad PR move and a bad owen to those who are superstitious
It's wild. As bad as I can't stand Otto he would certainly be the wiser choice to lead team green.

Kinda funny that Cody remembered the tavern girl but not the girl they sent to kingslanding. I believe she is Rhaenrya's hand maiden. Shes been with her for a while. Sooooo Dragons Facts !!!! Vermithor & Silverwing aren't wild dragons, they are unclaimed Targaryen dragons, like Seasmoke. They belonged to King Jaehaerys & Queen Alysanne, the rulers before Viserys. They are the second & third largest Targaryen dragons after Vhagar rn. The Cannibal, SheepStealer, and Grey Ghost are the wild dragons
I think Alys Rivers is working with Larys Strong to weaken Daemon and divide team Black. I don't think the scene with the Riverlords was real. I think it was a dream planted by her when they spoke because it was exactly what she had said. It was meant to plant guilt and make him doubt himself. Her manipulation is meant to push him to the depth of that darkness he keeps sheathed within, as Rhaenyra put it, and divide team Black... that's my theory anyway.
Vermithor and silverwing arent wild dragons
How can people still fan-girl over Daemon after this episode? That guy is delusional, disgusting and a piece of sh*t. He had little children murdered, sends people on rampages around the riverlands and betrays his wife/queen openly. Yes, Matt Smith is an intriguing actor but Daemon is truly the worst character of this show. And still, people are only hating on Alicent and Cole 🙄
We can admit that Daemon is not a good person while still enjoying him as a character and simultaneously hate on Alicent and Cole it doesn't have to be one or the other, they all suck.
I 100% agree! Daemon has become the character I dislike most.

Rhaeynra this is what happens when you take your position of heir for granted
Hope it doesn't spoil to much for ya but the blacksmith blonde headed guy at kings landing will be important, if he is who I believe he is. Hugh Hammer
I think Alicent tried to become regent, so she could pass the throne back to Rhaneyra and avoid more bloodshed
I don’t think so. I think Alicent still wants Aegon as King to avoid her children dying at the hands of the blacks(specifically Daemon), but if she were made Queen Regent, then she’d probably try and broker for peace yet again.
I think with Dyana (I could be totally wrong) they're gonna spread the rumors (or facts in this case) about what Aegon did, how there was peace in Viserys time, maybe we do want Rhaenyra etc etc. Starting a grass roots word of mouth PR campaign lol
Rememer the woman saying there are other ways to fight(? Win?) a war? I think the lady in the red cloak went to the tavern woman, to give her some rumours to spread. What best place to to get a rumour started than a tavern.
They should make a video game that's just Harrenhall.

A good filler episode that develop the children of daemon and rhaenyra more. I still don’t understand y Alicent thinks she should be in charge during war times when all she wanted has been no violence and restraint. How is Cole a bitch? He sacked 4 cities and killed a dragon while the blacks have done nothing. N daemon the great war general with no army lol Its a nice set up episode for future things to come, Team Green.
They're just biased bad faith actors who hate the greens.
What do people expect Cole to do in this situation be like nah Aemond is a traitor arrest him, Vhagar is all they have left at this point, Cole has the commonsense to understand Aemond is unhinged and dangerous and taking him off the board is an instant loss
Alicent takes all the blame for her sons short coming but she was raised poorly as well she didnt have a good role model to teacher her how to be parent but Viserys raised Rhaenyra and we saw him as good father and then he got his kids with Alicent and checked out we was very sick with the last few yrs but what about the first 10 yrs of Aegon, Aemond and Helaena life he was checked out. He has meaningful conversations with Rhaenyras, tells her stories, even while sick makes an effort to be there for her but you can count the scenes of him with his other kids on one hand and we only see him talk to them to reprimand them never to encourage or show genuine affection.

My Theory about Daemon. I think even tho he has the terrible visions he is tricking Alys to think he is loosing controll and we will see he is gaining allies and just asked them to come and act like they are not supporting him. He is playing 5D chess. You can see it in his eyes at the end with Alys
Alot of people just want the lordship of Harrenhal because the rich lands surrounding it
Bih you got more dragon's than me 😂😂😂😂😂😂💀
Cody, with all the love in my heart- think things through, Why else do you think Lady Arryn "doesn't have time" during a WAR.
Cody doesn’t seem to use his brain while watching anything, to him it’s just a bunch of cool flashing colors and opportunities to make random ass quips.
the term in dragonseeds.. Valeryon and Targaryan offshoots who could supposedly claim dragons. see jon snow.
Dragonseeds are specifically the bastards, who wouldn't be written down in their little library. It's really weird that Rhaenyra and Jace were talking about finding evidence of people from noble families with Targ ancestry, because there are 0 Targs who have had legitimate children with Westerosi noble families at this point. The Baratheon's are the only family known to have Targaryen blood (obviously that's not useful to the Blacks).
Maybe they will find evidence that the Velaryon's have Targaryen blood in one of those scrolls (maybe from a marriage before the Targs took over Westeros). That's the only reason I can think it matters, unless Ryan Condal is really messing with the family tree, and even then it's the bastards/Dragonseeds who are the ones that actually matter to the story???
@@pajamaparty01 Rhaenyra's own mother was the legitimate child of a Targaryen and a Westerosi noble family (Arryn). It's fair to assume that they would be more since some Targaryens married into other noble families to forge alliances and probably had children as well.
I hope you guys watch the show ‘Vikings’ in the future
No more royal feet for Laris.
