40+ years of not being able to do even a decent job on my finger and toe nails... watched your video and WALLA decent nails on the first try! I can only go up from here! TY!
I'm actually using your technique to help curb my nail biting habit :) Another lovely RUclipsr suggested painting a few of your nails to mark that they are off limits to bite, that way you can slowly wean yourself off of biting your nails, and honestly... I've never painted my nails before... Wasn't sure how to do it, I'm really not very girly at all ._. I work with a lot of machinery so I never thought about painting nails, haha! Your video did help me manage not to make a total mess of my nails, though I really need more practice. Thank you!
Yay! I'm a reformed picker/peeler. I used painting my nails to keep myself from messing with them. I just noticed the other day how much my nail beds have grown back after a year and a half of not picking! Good luck!
I have such a weird habit of sometimes randomly only having one of my hands painted :p it's usually if I'm trying out a new nail color or I run out of time if I gotta be somewhere :p I'm so impatient I paint my nails constantly and I always seem to screw them up I hate waiting for them to dry!
I loved your top on how to polish my nail. I just tried it and it worked! I don't have the buffer or the base coat yet. But starting to paint my nail from the middle and move it back totally works! You rock! Actually now that I think about it, that is totally how the nail ladies do it! !
Hey girl, I just found your channel while looking for nail videos to watch while painting my nails, and I'm obsessed! Love all your videos and I like the way you do your swatches too. Thanks for such an awesome collection of videos!
This is an excellent way to paint your nails. I have used this method for the first time and i enjoyed painting my nails! Thank you. Dawn from England.
lol should have used a darker polish! but still a helpful vid nonetheless~ and for people saying it's not good to remove cuticles - that's not entirely true! CUTTING cuticles is terrible and you should never let someone cut them off. using a gel to dissolve the skin is okay and doesn't leave open wounds on your fingertips. ^^
I'm DYING! Is this your first video, Jess?? I'm bingeing your videos this weekend. How do you feel about your quote "I know acetone damages my nail, but I don't care because I always have them painted anyway!" Omg...that was so funny!
I just start to used nail polish I was on RUclips I saw ur video now I'm so good the best in my family thank it was very helpful and thank for adding detail to help
Wow your videos are soo resourceful! I love each and everyone of them, you should be the kind of beauty guru that gets millions of views instead of those that only rely on hauls and giveaways (not that I don't like those)
Awesome! For the best nail and cuticle conditioning oil use Touch of Mink pure mink oil with vitamin E...it leaves your manicure beautiful! Thanks for sharing your tips, I need a lot more practice!!
Love your videos. Question, what is your favorite base coat, nail polish brand, and top coat? When I go to do my nails, I want to use the best products I can find, so that my manicure lasts as long as possible. Right now, I'm love'n OPI, but do you love it and/or other brands? Thanks!
I am learning so much from your videos. Thank you. I have a question, what kind of brush do you use for clean up? I have been using those corrector pens, but I would like something better.
Hi, why do you hate Seche Vite? Just curious because I've heard good things about it and I started using it. Maybe there's something that I should know? Thanks!
Seche Vite peels off on me after a couple of days. I then tried Orly base coat and a separate Orly fast dry top coat now I can have polish for a week or longer. I wanted to like Seche Vite too because they got such rave reviews but it just didn't work for me. So I'm going to give it away to a friend to see if she can use it. I only used it 3 times but oh well at least I found Orly.
wish I could use the 3 swipe method. my nails are so wide and I have very deep nail beds. a nail salon said this was a good thing, but not for doing my own nails, lol
what do you do when your nail (such as my thumbnail) is too wide to paint it in 3 strokes, or the brush too tiny (eg. China glaze)? it looks so streaky when you have to go back n forth 4-5 times.
You can do it you just use more polish then normal start a little bit from your cuticle press the brush down until it's spread out wide and push back to the cuticle not on it then down start this in the middle then you can do the sides.
Gia Merenda Most nail polish removers have acetone in them. There are formulas without, but don't mistake them as two completely different things when that is a main ingredient in a lot of polish removers.
If I use acetone nail polish remover ONCE, my nails peel and crack and I can't grow them until they completely grow out. Acetone nail polish remover is the devil.
Do not use a Hardner it will cause your nails to become hard and they will break easily, use a cuticle oil to make your nails flexible so they bend not break. The oil I use is simply pure by bliss kiss and it is a lifesaver! I never was abled to grow out my nails without them peeling or cracking or breaking. Highly suggest!
Clare Knight I echo using bliss kiss. It’s amazing. I also: - stopped cutting my nails - it was causing them to crack and I’d end up with much shorter nails than I wanted (although now with the oil, I bet they won’t split) - use a glass file to shorten and shape my nails. - stopped buffing my nails - this would weaken my nails. - stopped soaking my nails in water - keeping them dry plus the addition of water keeps them strong. - keep them polished - the only time I don’t I’m putting oil on continually. - treat my nails like jewels and not tools - I’m more careful about reaching for things. Q
To be honest, I liked Essie because they have GREAT colors and their bottles are adorable. But, i don't have much from them because they are pretty expensive. I also really like pure ice, because from my experience with them, they dry pretty fast, and they are very shiny. (im currently wearing their polish "happy hour, and I love it) I also really like Sally Hanson, because they are cheap, and you can find them pretty much anywhere that sells nailpolish:)

+Liliana Magdaleno Thanks for watching!
Liliana Magdaleno WALLA?! You mean Voila? XD
ladyish lee walla means "I swear to God" in Arabic. Either way it works in her sentence hehe 😂
Clearly you don’t have 40+ years of French lessons
Liliana Magdaleno sooooo true
I used to use cuticle oil.. But I found out that hand moisturizer works well too! Just a helpful tip ;)

This is an excellent way to paint your nails. I have used this method for the first time and i enjoyed painting my nails! Thank you. Dawn from England.

This is awesome. You are so good at nail art and also, it helped my painting nails skills so much because I always make a pretty huge mess doing it.
Andrea Clarks I'm glad it helped!
I just start to used nail polish I was on RUclips

This helped me so much. I am an impatient nail painter but now I have learned some tricks for less mess!
Thank you for this!! I always have trouble with flooding! I'm going to go try it now before my trip!
Such a lovely color!
Alaina Clinard Thanks for watching!
This is really helpful. I can't wait to try it out on my next manicure.
Great job! Thanks for the cool tip on removing polish from the cuticle line!
This is awesome i just painted my nails and hated how they look so i searched how to paint your nails and I actually work, yay!!!!!
Wow your videos are soo resourceful! I love each and everyone of them, you should be the kind of beauty guru that gets millions of views instead of those that only rely on hauls and giveaways (not that I don't like those)
What color is that? It's so lovely! How do you paint your right hand so smoothly with your non-dominant hand?
This is an excellent way to polish your nails thank you. Dawn from England
Thanks. I tried this at home, and it absolutely worked. Thank you
Awesome! I love hearing that it helps :)
Love this tute! I do the same nail prep I needed to figure out a method of painting with less clean up. Thx! Very helpful.

This is a great tutorial, and that brush trick at the end is great! Thank you.
That was a really good tip for not getting ur nail polish on the cuticle! Thanks!
Yayayaya thank yhu! This works on tiny short nails too! :D
This was a great video! I'll refer to it again next time I paint my nails. 😊
Sweetheart162148 Thanks!
Now I can paint my nails properly without any mess! Thank you!!
You should do an updated version of this video!
Wow... I'm so jealous of your nails. I used to bite mine and I'm trying to stop. But I like your shape. Your nails are my goal!
my paint job always looked like a 4 year old did it blind folded I followed you tips and it came out perfect thank you.
yh mine too
Thank you for this. So helpful
This is a really good video because i am horrible at doing my nails and i can do my nails now Perfectly!!! Thanks
Awesome!
This was so helpful thank you!
Thanks! I'm glad it helped :)
You make it seem so easy! Any tips for shaky hands?
I am learning so much from your videos. Thank you. I have a question, what kind of brush do you use for clean up? I have been using those corrector pens, but I would like something better.
+Pamela Kilponen I use the ELF $1 concealer brush :)
A darker polish would have been more helpful for people. I can already paint nails great. I just came here bc I enjoy your videos.
Hi, why do you hate Seche Vite? Just curious because I've heard good things about it and I started using it. Maybe there's something that I should know? Thanks!
Violet Skye Seche Vite always peels up a few days after application for me lol. That’s why some people hate it so much
Love Seche Vite , it don’t peel on my nails but, I don’t buff them either and I oil after polish not before . Diana ( not Isaiah , he’s my Grandson )
Seche Vite peels off on me after a couple of days. I then tried Orly base coat and a separate Orly fast dry top coat now I can have polish for a week or longer. was there a time lapse on this because your nails seemed to dry pretty fast. Also, what is that color again? It is beautiful, and I want it!
This is gonna happen. As soon as this blizzard is over I'm heading to Sallys or freaking walmart..thanks💞
It was really good I have done my nails and they came out really good after watching the video
Thanks! Just painted my nails and this helped a lot!
Thanks so much for this! It really helped me!
I ❤ my Seche Vite Top Coat! It works for me!
This was very helpful!
Thank you for this very informative and helpful video!
i love the video! thanks so much. can i just ask what is this color called? i love it
Steady as she rose by opi. :)
I love watching these when they are actually helpful
wish I could use the 3 swipe method. my nails are so wide and I have very deep nail beds. a nail salon said this was a good thing, but not for doing my own nails, lol
Lorraine Brooks Only my ring fingers have deep nail beds. Very awkward. I never paint the whole nail. I leave a space. It's never noticeable though.
what do you do when your nail (such as my thumbnail) is too wide to paint it in 3 strokes, or the brush too tiny (eg. China glaze)? it looks so streaky when you have to go back n forth 4-5 times.

I found this video very helpful.Thank you xxx
I do the same thing with the elf concealer brush! I seriously thought I was the only one who was too cheap to buy an actual nail art brush! lol
great! Thanks, this should help me out so much!!
Do you do this for a living?? You are awesome!!!
This was really helpful !!
+Emelie Aguilar Thanks for watching!
Acetone isn't damaging, just drying - be sure to re-hydrate your nails, cuticles, and hands and your nails will be fine.
Sweet thanks for the tutorial it was much needed!!
Stupid question alert, but after using acetone to clean up the cuticle line, do you wash it off?
Anna S Nope, it evaporates!
How many hours do you think you do your nails each month??
Great video!!
I was wondering: Whenever I try a new brand of polish I always buy the base and top coats that go with it. Is that really necessary?
So nice to see a tutorial about doing nails where the polish isn't all over the cuticles lol! Thank you!
beautiful i like it good job girly
Thanks you! You helped me very good.
Then what were you trying to do?
what els can u use besides pure acetone? Will nail polish remover work just as easily?
Gia Merenda Most nail polish removers have acetone in them. There are formulas without, but don't mistake them as two completely different things when that is a main ingredient in a lot of polish removers.
Wait if u were doing both hands do u paint the other hand while the nails on ur other hand is drying or do each hand separately
Thx for the tutorial. Now im gonna paint on my girlfriend's fingernail like a pro. hehe.
Which are the best top coats and base coats?
Do you paint one hand at a time? Or do you do both hands at the same time?
trmdp9006 when I'm not filming a video I'll do one coat on one hand and then one coat on the other hand.
LOVE this video.
I have the same nail polish remover
If I use acetone nail polish remover ONCE, my nails peel and crack and I can't grow them until they completely grow out. Acetone nail polish remover is the devil.
That's amazing thanks it really helps
Oh my god, you helped so much! Thank you! :)
oh my god your nails are perfect
What nail polish did u use?
How do you grow you nails out strong? My nails crack or rip whenever they grow long enough to square them.
A healthy diet and you can also use a nail hardener.
Deana t I think that sally hansen, they have a healthy nail nail polish if you use it weekly it can help
Castor oil heals brittle nails! Buy 100% pure cold pressed castor oil and apply it to your nails. :)
Do not use a Hardner it will cause your nails to become hard and they will break easily, use a cuticle oil to make your nails flexible so they bend not break. I use the exact same remover
can the pure acetone just be regular nail polish remover??
Yes but ace tone just is stronger. It doesn't really matter what type of nail polish remover you use! (:
You can, but it's bad for your nails
It will be more helpful for me if's it was black , i never put other than black. sigh.
grism13 She means that black shows up the most. The sheer, light color she used was hard to see.
grism13 boo hoo
Your nails are gorgeous :-)
I have the same polish!
I struggle with the second coats with stripes and dry polish
Very helpful! Thnx
OMG!! I wish you could do my nails! Mine look horrible. :-( I need a nail care routine...
Very helpful!
what the name of the nail polish you used in this film please send me opi nail polish
Can i use clear coat polish for a base coat??????
I would.
I get little bubbles all on my nails when I polish them sometimes. Would you be able to help me understand why that happens, please?
ok. Thank you. I will try to make sure I same extra care to remove oils and dust. Thanks.
Nikomii Butler it's because your coats of nail polish haven't had time to dry, use a quick dry top coat and it takes all the bubbles away!
where did yu get ur cuticle remover from????
That's alright! Don't fret over it:) I'll just keep experimenting until I find the main reason
I find that the 3 stokr method doesn't give me even coverage. or maybe that's just cause I have small nails...
Thank you!
interesante
OMG!! Thx so much!!💜❤️👍👏👌
What nail polish company do u suggest
#MustangLover i know you diden't ask me, but i like essie
