If I had to guess, admittedly reading other comments, they likely wanted Seth to win and maybe even convincingly, since they knew Cody would be on the shelf. However, Seth likely refused, did the job to Cody and that’s why we ended up with Seth attacking Cody the next night on RAW, to have him written off.
