It's really funny to think that the music press ripped shreds out of his drumming back in the day because he wasn't typically flailing his arms around in the usual way prog rock drummers do. I've always appreciated his solid and deft touch, superb and very much underrated drummer in a great band.
@@zararity They didn't get Guy just as they didn't get VdGG. Carl Palmer was the archetypal prog drummer - flashy but very limited in timbre and style just as ELP were the archetypal prog band - flashy but limited in substance. Guy and VdGG were pearls before swine too unique and challenging for the masses and we acolytes are the lucky ones.
Legendary recording, legendary performance in my home country, legendary band. The sound is blistering. Thanks so much for uploading this ! God what a dark and nasty song Arrow always is...
+Tweenythepriest "Godbluff" seems to divide some fans (believe me, I don't know that many VdGG fans!) but I absolutely love this album, and it's bloody great to get a full live performance of it from the era!
Depends what you hear first my case it was World Record kicked my ears to ahhh new level anyway... Still Life GodBluff & World Record years later (50) nothing Excites unless mee unless Mr. Beethoven shows up! 😊
I love this, but...Jaxon seems shorter of breath here, certainly compared to the L.P version e.g 4.44 min's, many of his grand phrases are somwhat shorter. Road fatigue, and a fair amount of smoking no doubt plays a part, I mean if you look at the tour itinerary in '75 they were playing and travelling around europe continually, around this particular time they were somtimes doing 2 shows a day! They're still great. Peter's voice seems a little clearer here than the DVD I have, which is a big plus cos the Lyrics are almost Shakespearean. Real Genius."Godbluff"'s a masterpiece. 🕉🎶👌
Poo poo on all the whining. Hit the road loser-poser. Fans of the group and prog are thankful this exists, so we're celebrating. Go and listen to your Britney Spears collection.

Saw them 2 weeks later at UEA - Godbluff still one of my favourite albums today
The one and only VGG
Peter Hamill is pure guts and heart. A Master musician
I just love Scorched Earth. It sounds like Harlan Ellison put to music.

Я слушаю и Ван Дэра и Кримзон "Red" 1974. Привет из Сибири!

I saw them perform Godbluff in Manchester in 1975. What an amazing band they were!
(and there are moments when Guy Evans' drumming is breath-taking.)

Utterly astonishing music. Outstanding live performance.
Trop puissant !! Que de bon souvenir , SANS MODERATION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing work! The best band from the 70s as far as I'm concerned, and this show is truly their peak.

@@zararity How can that be? It's their best record along side Pawn Hearts.

Thank you - now I am there, finally.
Спасибо!
Super music performance compositions
J'ai découvert VDGG avec Godbluff en même temps que Rock bottom de Robert Wyatt, quel choc
Bowie was right. He was a poor man’s Peter Hammill. See you in Birmingham!
Yes. The best Album...Live

thanks for the upload, buddy.
Which year? 75?
September 27, 1975
The sound mix is terribad.
Hammill's voice hardly can be heard.
Way too much emphasis on David Jackson.
It would be lovely to hear this completely remixed, but I doubt there's multitracks out there...
I'm just happy that we have such great film of these guys. The cameras are perfectly placed and the editing is not dated.

Gurgis? As regurgitating gibberish to sound as if you had some resemblance of testicles on the internet?
