  • I stayed at Dhaka's most luxurious hotel! Welcome to the Intercontinental Hotel: Home to amazing food, gorgeous rooms, and also so much Bangladeshi history. This famous hotel was where British journalist Simon Dring, hid from the Pakistani army, during the Bangladesh liberation war. I've come here to share the history of the hotel, eat at their insane 197 item seafood buffet, and show you where the rich and famous go to stay in Dhaka!

When he decided talking about our independent war, he knew that he'll loose some subscribers, still he shared the truth. Respect.
lots of our Pakistani brothers and sisters already know about our Independent War and apologized publicly. there are so many RUclips videos published by our Pakistani brothers and sisters apologized publicly for 1971. those videos totally changed our perceptions about Pakistanis and we know they are our friends now. those apologies are not plastic or just show off. that came from their heart. such apologies are rare in the world. only people with golden heart can do that . those who are angry at Brent for sharing this info, just do not know about Independent War of Bangladesh In 1971. so they are shocked.
To our respected Pakistani brother's and sister's, 1971 Independent War is an inseparable part of us. Brent didn't lie. Brent publish this won't create any tension between Bangladeshis and Pakistanis bcuz we already know everything. Brent just publish 1% of what happened in 1971.
we all know know what Pakistani Army did, at the same time we know Pakistani public in general are innocent. we are Not holding anything against you. But please don't say that our Independent War didn't exist.

Wow that intro touched my heart and made me emotional, it brought back the memories of the stories my mother and father shared with me and my siblings during the struggles of their family and themselves under the occupation of the Pakistani government and military. The gen ocide of millions & grape of thousands of innocent men, women and children simply because of their Bengali identity and language. The countries infrastructures were intentionally ruined and many intellectuals were not spared, it’s certainly reminds the Bangladeshi people how unfairly our people were treated but also shows how far we as a nation have come and ofcourse more needs to be done so that we continue to rebuild this country and it’s people. It’s not easy to rebuild a nation after war but not bad for a country that is looking to build upwards since 1971. Lovely vlog Brent you’re a star thank you my brother, much love ❤️

Renowned British journalist Simon Dring while undergoing an operation for a hernia in Romania, he suffered a heart attack and wasn't revived, dying at the age of 76, in July, 2021
He was a man of commitment, an upright man of high moral and ethical standard and values who reported the massacre of Dhaka in 1971 with objectivity and courage.
Then the 27 years old Simon Dring found himself hiding in the lobby, the kitchen and the rooftop at Dhaka's intercontinental hotel during operation "search light" on March 25, 1971. The 32 hours of risking his life had him noting down reports of crackdown, travel Dhaka in a baker's van once the curfew was lifted on March 27, 1971 to collect some evidence of genocide. His name will be always remember with great honour with the history of liberation war of Bangladesh.

They've been using this divide and conquer tactic for thousands of years but I'm guessing you have not educated yourself about these things. Dear Mr. Timm, you are absolutely right about your introduction. There are few old videos available in the archive, but those are sufficient to prove the genocide by the Pakistani army in 1971. On March 26, 1971, a video featuring a BUET professor (Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology) revealed a distressing incident. In the video, it becomes evident that more than 15 unarmed Dhaka University students lost their lives in a harrowing episode where they were subjected to gunfire while standing in a line. 52 years before, technology was minimal, especially in countries like Bangladesh. Still, many photographs of piles of dead bodies and mass graves are available. Thank you for sharing the true stories, and care about the past of Bangladesh as a foreigner. Kudos!!

You just deserve love. Simon Dring passed away, but the respect for him is forever. And I see a new addition of him in you. This should not be generalised as politics, its history, its humanity. And humanity is alive till people like Simon and Brent are there through their heavenly angel like acts.
