in terms of most difficult to least difficult: 1. koga 2. sabrina 3. misty 4. brock 5. giovanni 6. surge 7. blaine 8. erica The jump from erica to koga/sabrina is ridiculous. 10+ levels, even though trainer levels are perfectly scaled. giovanni first time is insane but gym battle is easy as hell. blaine is a joke. erica even more so. sweep blaine with kingdra, erica with magmar. erica's only tough one is blissey, use fighting type to make it easy. blaine has ninetails with confuse ray hypnosis BS that is almost impossible to avoid unless you use a fast water sweeper.
This game is really hard as that is the point of this hack and I have played this hack at least 10 times so take my word that you need to train your Pokémon actually being overleveled is good.
Nobody should overlevel, it's a cheap tactic. Real trainers use their Pokemon's full potential and don't surpass the next boss trainer's highest level Pokemon.
Firered Omega is a Hack/Remake of Fire Red. Follows the same storyline, just with a good deal of extras. 381 of the first 3 Gen are catchable except for Volbeat/Illumise and the Wishmur line. Gyms all have 6 pokemon of higher levels and much more difficult movepools. Pokemon base stats and movepools were changed to make more things competitve and useful. Trade evolutions no longer exist, all "Trade Required" evolutions are level up instead, except Slowking, who now evolves through Water Stone, Eevee's friendship evolutions now come through Sun/Moon stones. Trainer battles now incorporate all 3 Generations, not just Kanto. Extra patches of grass added in some areas, and wild pokemon locations massively overhauled. Just an example, before Viridian forest, your team could legitimately contain a Ralts, Mareep, Houndour, Swablu, Staryu, and Doduo. This is just an example. Overall a ridiculously good overhaul to an already good game.
