No they are different, however they are both made with guajillo chilies 🌶 but enchilada sauce is thicker and is fried up in a little oil. Birria has more spices add to it and since your boiling the thick cut of beef or goat in it that’s how the consome is created.

I was very impressed with the shredded beef. I’m a HUUUGE fan of the sorely missed shredded chicken, but I almost think I like this better. Very tender, well spiced and just delicious. At least they were smart saying it s a “dipping taco” and not “Birria”. AMAZING for what it is, not what it’s trying to be. Mine unfortunately could have had some more cheese on the outside but probably the best “new” thing from T-Bell in a WHILE. 6.8/10, proper amount of cheese on the outside, upgrade it a full point.
This don’t look like a real birria taco and the consome looks like ketchup 😅do your self a favor and go to a Mexican taco truck or restaurant and try the real thing. Birria takes a couple of hours to prepare I highly doubt Taco Bell puts in that work. 😅

Consomé is a broth, (not specific to birria btw) is not meant to be a dipping sauce, so it's not meant to be thick. But social media has ruined that and now we have "enchilada sauce" whatever that is, as a faux consomé for shredded beef quesadillas....marketed as grilled cheese 🙄
