He uses a different soul color on you, able to trick you into thinking an attack is over, his attacks aren’t always the same, and his last attack is among the hardest to completely avoid, and he considers it his NORMAL attack! And if you do intend to kill him, you still have to avoid all his attacks!

I just noticed that when you kill Papyrus, the blizzard in the area vanishes, while if you spare him, the blizzard will always be there when you walk through that area. So could it be that it is actually Papyrus that creates the blizzard and keeps it on?

Did you know that it is possible to hit papyrus while his sparing you and not kill him However in order to do that you have to use the tough gloves and punch only once
you know how everyone has a battle animation where they like move or something while you fighting them Well is it weird how Papyrus and Toriel just kinda stand there
I think the real reason is cause Tori and Pap were probably programmed still early in development. It maybe wasn’t until he got to Undyne that he decided to give the rest of the bosses (and enemies too) bouncing idle animations and such.
So, fun fact: When I first played undetale I had no idea about the game. Like I knew nothing about it, only that my friend loved it and wanted me to play it. So even though there was a mercy option, I thought that was there kinda for special ocasions, it was only after I completed my first run that my friend told me all monsters could be spared lol, but what I mean with this is I killed everything that got in front of me on my first run as I thought that was the way you were supposed to play the game. Syill, when given the choice I spared Papy and when my friend accused me of murdered I defended myself saying when he made it clear I could spare him I went along with it and she said even if you don't spare him you can't kill him on neutral or something on those lines and I've believed that ever since. Watching this now and knowing I could indeed have killed him I feel super happy and maybe even proud I didnot? well no, that's not quite it, but I do feel far better with myself (not like I was feeling awfully bad but you get it)
