    hi brett, any tips on how to not lose the "1" when playing fills either 16th note or especially triplets cuz i still have a problem doing so.. cheers

      Try keeping 1/4s on hi hat foot or kick while working it up slowly

      It’s also a lot to do with how ‘quickly’ you can hear. That means that your ear can keep up with what you’re playing and isn’t ’thrown off’ by you playing accents in unexpected places or playing different instrumentation of the same pattern. If you can ‘hear quicker’, then your brain won’t loose your place within the bar. But as said above, this comes from playing slowly…and playing to a click….for long periods of time. :)

      Slow all the way down and play with a metronome :) that would be the best starting point
