Greetings from Germany ;)

i am a Vietnamese and i have no words to describe how that made me and a lot of pp here feel. Honestly amazing! He has nerves of steel. I am so proud!!

After the crowd erupted I thought the Vietnamese guy was going to loose it, he’s an exceptional sportsman.
that shot despite the brazilians heckling is what made winning the gold sweeter..
He should have at least made a "In-your-face" gesture towards the crowd.
Cadi Levox that was a hellova shot. Laser accuracy.
That guy looks like a hitman from a movie. He's awesome.
Brazilian crowds are always the worst, they taunt you and don't respect others.
He probably couldn’t hear the crowd, he was wearing ear buds to cancel out noise, presumably.
I h
As a Vietnamese I am so proud of this record 🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳
that last shot was cold af, sick concentration
Vietnamese slaps them with 10.7 lmao
that last shot under all of that pressure was crazily accurate!
First gold medal ever? wow Hoang Xuan Vinh is amazing
Amazing VIETNAM
Very close match, congrats!(tho i think the crowd could have been a bit more respectful) also greetings from brazil!
Igor Gomes Dutra thank u so much.
Dũng Lê Anh vietman
I live in Rio, and i feel disgusted when seeing the crowd booing. Such a shame that people here are so ignorant. I blame the government for lack of education policies and birth control.
Nada a ver cara
This reminds me of the girl (i cant remember which sport it was) who beat the brazilian in the finals and the crowd boo'd her on the podium to the point where she was crying while collecting her medal
me when lost my signal on phone 0:44
lmao
Robert Law jjjj
Lmfao the IQ
cheering to put the guy off made him shoot even better xD salty fans
Very first golden Olympic medal for Vietnam 🇻🇳. I’m so proud of him
wow rio has the worst crowd
Loud and annoying. Really makes it hard to concentrate in events like these.
hmm... vocês poderiam ter mais respeito por nós, é algo natural.
Earplugs can probably only block a max of 35 db. Crowd will definitely still be very annoying especially when under the stress of competing in the Olympics.
Edwin Chu is
sem choro! apenas aguente a pressão...
isso ai não é nada comparado ao que vivemos no dia-a-dia... pena seria se você morasse aqui.
Respect for Almeida for showing respect to Xuan Vinh
it makes me happy to see them hug. nice clean fun
This is a remarkable moment for Vietnam by that time; it, however, still the footnote in the history of the Olympic Games.
I've started air pistol some months ago. Seeing the tales fron the Olympic games is so inspiring🤩
It's 1AM and I have work at 6, what am I doing
Let's keep calm and fight for Tokyo 2020
Perfect for Vietnam
First gold medal and first time won more than 1 medal in a single Olympics
Yeah Vietnam win
It was really an excellent shot , he was calm and patient, and got the reward
Proud of Hoang Xuan Vinh
Hoang Xuan Vinh is widely known as a choker in Vietnam. He is gifted for sure but missed many many gold medals just because of his unstable mentality. You can see in this final as well when he hit only 9.3 and 9.2 points in round 18 and 19. Good for him that he could pull himself together in the final round.
watching this again, so happy vietna won!!
Congratulations 🇻🇳Vietnam🇻🇳 you win your first gold medal
Wow amazing video!!
US veterans in the crowd: _I'm not surprised!_
Amizade é tudo
History. First gold medal VN
Brazil was still salty about the 7-1 loss 2 years before in their home country..
that was with germany...
@@igordutra4171 salt ignores nationality
i so proud of about him
Why dont upload when vietnam receive gold medal?????
Tự hào Việt Nam ! :D
If this guy was at Vietnam's war that's why they probably won
But fighting a war and competitive shooting take entirely different skillsets.
woosh
He is a army officer too.
Long Vu he achieved his army officer rank because of his contribution for Vietnam's sport.
he is communist
Tự hào Việt Nam
He couldve got gold in 50m but got silver, great performance by him
Level: ASIAN
감사
He activated his ballyhoo like Scooby

Major Hoang Xuan Vinh
uncivilized
Lucas Felix Justo Realmente, a falta de educação daqui talvez seja cultural sim
really tell me how is be civilized? pratice slavery? steal natural resource from other countrys(Argentina, china)? be a racist? pratice war? yeah we are very uncivilized
(read more for english translation)krl aceita, vc so fica piorando a situação xingando os caras por chamarem os brasileiros de não civilizados, assim vc so ajuda a reinforçar o esteriótipo, alem disso, usar argumentos de "roubar recursos" e "escravidão" são completamente irrelevantes, pois muitos paises, incluindo o brasil, ja fizeram isso no passado, e colocar brasileiros em um pedestal so vai piorar o problema.(Just accept it, the crowd really was disrespectful and by insulting those who call brazilians uncivilized you only help to reinforce the stereotype, and also, dont try to use arguments like slavery/racism/war/"stealing" resources, because brazil is just as guilty as most other countries, trying to set brazilians on a pedestal will only make it worse)
Low IQ. It's a different world when the average IQ is almost a full standard deviation below the Western countries..
belo contra argumento, vejo q vc tem mt o que adicionar a discussao, alem disso, agradeco se voce agisse menos como uma "crianca" que ao invez de responder aos meus argumentos a unica coisa que faz e xingar
I am vietnamese and i proud of Hoang Xuan Vinh:))
Felipe Wu 🥈
How did this become an Olympic sport. That one guy is holding his pistol at an angle! I could smoke this competition!

watched many events. crowds sure rude. the 'booing' every competitors esp during final if comeptitor meet brazil. but dont worry, all the competitor trains in loud environment. the loudness like this wont affect them. just watch how Korean archers trained.
go vietnam
After seeing the crowd, I don’t feel sorry for the ones crying when Germany demolished them at their home world cup anymore.
Clutch

this is an actual Olympic sport??????
fastest draw in the west !
Ice in his veins
Việt Nam Vô Địch !!!
Why are asian type people so good at sports like this
The gold metal went to Eric Harris.
How about we add in other calibers for the Olympic shooting sport?
.22 LR, 9mm, .40, .45 ACP, .44 Magnum, & .500 Magnum! XD
Dustin Tew There used to be an event called 50m free pistol which used 22lr but they removed it due to 'too many Asians winning'. There is still 25m rapid fire and 25m women sports pistol which use 22lr
At what point did they shoot lol
Viet Nam
Wuuuuu Wang or Wuuu watcha my Wang?
rude Brazilian!!! yelling out when another shooter is shooting the final round. that is really rude.
so vietnam has a gold medal but when you look up has vietnam won an olympic medal, it shows zero- even when XV Hoang won a gold medal?? this is weird can someone explain
most likely youre looking at this Olympic’s records at Tokyo, not from Rio 2016
Do your research again
Yes. It is true. Vietnam's first-ever medal was in Australia in 2004 (Silver). And this is the first-ever gold medal
The audiences were scared I could see that easily :D
jokes on them! Ocelot would win

Why does Hoang not close one eye when taking his shots?
Shaun Rze Kuik he used to be an ex soldier in the army I think. He's probably more comfortable keeping both eyes open since most likely in serving the army, keeping both eyes open is very important to keeping eyes on the battlefield.
He is a Colonel of the VPA Ground Force, a soldier, so I think it's normal for a soldier to keep both eyes open when shooting
It's always better to leave both your eyes open while shooting. If you ever want to be successful at shooting, whether it be in sport or in combat, you'll want to have the benefits that two eyes open provides. Depth perception, a better overview of the target, the ability to be alerted if something moves, etc...
You would think it would be distracting, but you learn to quickly switch focus from one eye to the other, or back to both immediately. And even though you have your other open eye unfocused, it still can see just fine. It's an odd thing I suggest you practice it at some point as it's useful for other things, too.
apocaRUFF oh thanks for the info
The actual reason, which was mentioned in a lot of Vietnamese articles, was that he did not have a lot of budgets, both during his training and during the competition. He simply did not have the money to afford an "eye-blocking"/ eye supporting equipment like the Brazilian or Chinese contestants did; therefore, he had always been practicing with both eyes open, without any supporting gears. During his training, he had to hold the pistol and pretended to shoot at targets because the department's budget could not afford training bullets.
*Ironic*
vietnam
You participate in Shooting olympics and have PANG as last name :D
