Korea's Jongoh Jin wins the gold medal in the men's 10m air pistol shooting event as Italy's Luca Tesconi wins silver and Serbia's Andrija Zlatic wins bronze at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
From just five shooting events at the inaugural 1896 Olympic Games to today there are 15 events in the Olympic programme, divided into three different groups: rifle, pistol and shotgun. The rifle and pistol competitions are held on shooting ranges, where marksmen aim at targets at distances of 10, 25 and 50 metres. In the shotgun event, competitors shoot at clay targets propelled at a series of different directions and angles.

Why do they use air pistols and not real ones
DJGarboot An air pistol IS a real pistol 🔫 Quality air pistols like the ones you see in this video are not toys. I own one of these air pistols (Morini 162ei), and it cost more than all four of my Glocks put together, and is FAR more accurate at 10m than my Glocks, 1911's, or service revolvers. Also an Olympic pistol shooter has three events, only one is air powered .. the other two are firearms.
