[Synopsis]
The road to becoming an empress is paved with treachery. Ruyi (Zhou Xun) is a consort who quickly learns to navigate the treacherous politics of the royal court and move up the ranks. Suxoin was so lucky. Two amazing guys gave her true, healthy love and wanted to be with her for the rest of their lives. Poor thing, became lame but they didn't give up on her even when she gave up on herself. Beautiful. More than what most of the Concubines in the Palace could ever dream of.
I'm crying for Cheif Enuch Li so much. He even gave them land, as a means to be well off. That's a huge gift on his part. It shows how much he loved his friends. Especially Suxoin. What a bittersweet moment for him. My heart is breaking over here 😭💔

The Emperor initially didn't want Suoxin to marry Jiang because a doctor has less status and probably makes less compared to a senior guard or eunuch but relented since it is a love match that Ruyi insisted should happen. To be gifted lands by Li Yu really reassured the couple will be more than well off.
It's a shame that Suoxin couldn't be with Li Yu because she wanted children and therefore rejected his proposal in the beginning. But Jiang is a good man nonetheless and I'm happy that Suoxin got her happy ending regardless.
They all knew what she went through for Ruyi. She already proven her worth and character. She was a catch and he knew he was a fool to let her go.

Even if they adopted, it won’t feel the same at all, and thankful, Li Yu finally see the realization that the doctor and Suxion is happy with one another for good reason.

As Suoxin was the GuGu of Yikun Palace, Ruyi would surely have ordered the attendants to accompany Souxin in order to get her settled into her new home. Likely they would have only remained for a couple of days to ensure all was well before returning to the Forbidden City.

Typically, women of her age in China were already married and had at least one child. She had chosen to remain at Ruyi's side instead of asking for marriage to get out of the Forbidden City, which would normally have "put her on the shelf" i.e. out of the marriage market. I can't remember exactly how old she was when she married, but she'd be well into her twenties.
