李玉在歷史上也有人物原型，這個原型就是李玉本身。
清乾隆年間，今河北省大城縣大里北村出了一位赫赫有名的內務府總管太監，此人名叫李玉。
李玉幼年家境貧寒，一家人經常外出乞討。李玉兩歲時，一次母親在京城抱著他討飯，轉悠了大半天也沒討到一口吃的。母親餓得眼冒金花兒，走起路來都打晃了，只好先將李玉放在了城門後面，待討著了吃的再來找他。沒想到李玉娘走後不久，城門來了一隻惡狗，那狗先是聞到糞便的氣味，然後三轉兩轉來到李玉的近前，一見李玉襠里粘滿了糞便，上去就是一口，一下將李玉的塵根咬了下來，李玉痛得哇哇大哭，可巧這時康熙皇帝的正宮娘娘孝恭仁皇后坐著鸞駕正打此處經過，皇后聽到李玉哭聲，頓時起了憐憫之心，急忙叫停了鸞駕，命太監過去看個究竟。不一會太監回來稟報：「回稟皇后，城門後有個受傷的男嬰！」
「快，抱過來讓我瞧瞧！」太監見皇后執意要看男嬰，只好找了塊布把小孩兒下身裹好，然後抱到鸞駕前。待娘娘接過來一看，只見李玉衣服上血跡斑斑，哭得嗓子都啞了，不由得失聲道：「我的兒啊--」話一出口，娘娘又覺得失了言，心說這孩子不為己出，怎能稱兒呢？又一想自己貴為千歲，雖不比皇上金口玉言卻也是一言九鼎，既然把這孩子喚了兒，就算認了個乾兒吧。如若今日視而不見，這孩兒說不定就會一命嗚呼，也算是自己積了份陰德。遂命太監將李玉抱回宮中，並言道如有人問起就說是俺新認的乾兒。

I love how the consorts put on their best to celebrate her marriage - very surprising, seeing as how she was a servant. Shows how much they respected her and Ruyi
甄嬛傳、延禧攻略到如懿傳，我才知道我最想看的就是這部，雖然比起前面幾部有點平淡無奇，但周迅演技沒話說，這部也很細心演了很多我學到了不少精神跟感動在裡面

Turns out they had secretly erected a tomb for her and made offerings for her annually. The grave next to Ru Yi's grave belonged to Ling Yun Che. Suo Xin even told her daughter to pay respect to Ru Yi as her godmother, and that they wouldn't be alive now without Ru Yi. Suo Xin later told the Emperor that Ru Yi had always only loved the Emperor alone, which in the end made Qian Long devastated with guilt upon learning it.

These scenes made me cry to much for her. I was sad to see her less on the show, but so happy she got what she deserved after all the hardships she had to deal with. If A'ru had only followed the same path, she could've had a good life as well. Suoxin deserved this so much.

The part I always think is wonderful is that Souxin meets Rongpei before she leaves the palace for good so she knows that Ru yi is in good hands.

He was in love with her too you can see it in his eyes when he went to give her his land he said it's hard to tell which one would have loved her more but I think they both would have she was really a little blessed angel she was humble and everything I like the way the inference got revenge for her
i just knew li yu loved her from the moment i saw him give suoxin a hairpin. accessories given by men always accompany this meaning. during the time that suoxin entered the cold palace with ruyi and returned the pin, i saw it in li yu's eyes.
he was a eunuch, he was forbidden to love or desire a women, but it never meant he couldn't feel love, and he loved her the best he could. even if it meant sending her off and wishing her happiness with someone else

Rong Pei was so loyal that she chose death when Ruyi died. There are many instances in ancient times of servants being buried with their master weather they wanted to be or not. History rarely states if it was voluntary.
Another commentor stated that in the books Souxin made an alter for Ruyi next to Ling Ychene's. They didn't say anything about Rong Pei. It would be nice if she too was buried with Ruyi.
The sweetest couple in the whole drama.

Later on in the series, I think someone mentions that Suoxin n Jiang Yubin has 3 kids together. They definitely at least have one kid together.
Yeah, but the second they showed her getting married I knew she was gonna be shown less in the show, or not even at all. I was surprised to see her during the coronation and after that. They mention her briefly when they talk about Ling Yunche's burial, but that's all the rest of the show. She ends up having three children by the time Ruyi passes.

So scary that as the Empress or a concubine, you're not allowed to leave the imperial palace. Without the freedom to explore, travel, and experience life is so tragic for women in those times. How some of these women were head over heels to become a concubine is beyond me. The schemes and constantly needing to watch your back would drive me crazy.

The title is misleading since the majority of it dealt with Souxin and her life.
Ruyi did justice for Souxin making sure she escaped the Forbidden City and had a happy life. Her and her husband's characters seem to be the only ones who could claim happiness.
