One comment, Hringhorni should be at least vaguely ship shaped. The name comes from the Norse mythology, the ship of the god Baldur. When I heard it being mentioned, I was expecting it to be a vessel intended to carry Humanity to the ascension I expected APE was moving toward. A super-mech is at least closer than the idea that Hringhorni is a weapon.
This is amazing! Thank you! I just watched the show and couldn't be in peace with the last 5 episodes. I am thinking on how to fix it since then. I though i should get rid of VIRM entirely but your solution fits very well. I really liked your versions of Dr. Frank and Klaxosaur princess. One thing i still miss is a stronger development of Hiro and Zero Two after ep 15. I think they should be more concerned about the adults and APE messing with their lives (something in the lines of Vanquish sound track lyrics, especially for Zero Two), something deeper than that scene where Zero Two's dead partners come for her in a nightmare. This would be the preparation for the rebellion arc i was expecting to kick in at ep 20, when your version of Dr. Frank and Klaxosaur princess would join them, against APE (now VIRM). I fell more emotional invested in your version! Waiting for part 3 if you still gonna make it! Thank you!
Thank you! A rebellion type of arc is something I never even considered. I think a story point like that could have warranted more episodes, and even another season with the squad going around trying to gather adults to their cause or something like that. Part 3 is out now though! Hope you enjoy it!
One thing i'm confused about in this story is how 02 died, I was under the assumption that the FRANXX being destroyed would kill the people inside so any damage sustained would also be done to the pistil, as was done in Part 3 of your series when Hiro died.But overall i respect this series and the only thing i wished for the original to do was to not kill off the best characters (in my opinion Hiro and 02 (and possibly Dr FRANXX in this version as i like how the Klaxosaur princess is his daughter)) and for the Klaxosaurs and FRANXX to not be Destroyed.
i originally had the same problem with the virm vs klauxo war, but after watching onimaru's videos on it i've actually grown to like that part, for what it is. As the series has never really focused on the actually battle or reasons behind it, it's always been the children at the center of the story. And thematically it seemed to make alot of sense, since it has never been the children's battle, and they've always been kept in the dark. Watch his video, it's called: "episode 20 makes perfect sense", he explains it very well. though i do also thoroughly enjoy this

Great story fix, only thing that I didn't like is that 002 dies at the end. Really hope she gets revived by some means in the third part
