  • Moving 100+ TONS of Dirt to the Pond - Possible Future Bridge Over It?
We have a TON of dirt, clay and rocks to move...actually over 100 tons! With cold weather and snow approaching I need to get this all moved before it either gets covered in snow or worse freezes.
The Bobcat was the only way I could tackle this job, and it took a whole weekend to get it done. I put over 10+ hours on the skid steer moving this dirt back and forth but the end result looks great! I even left a trench area for snowmelt to have a path to follow into the pond and out of the spillway during the Spring time.
Would be cool to have a future bridge over the gap, anyone have some cool ideas?!

Definitely. Hoping it'll settle quickly over winter too.

How many hours did it take? I have a creek that I want to make a 6' wide crossing thru deer can use it, I can walk thru and just simple to have access to the other side. It's 10' across and 9' deep. So not sure if I'd rent a bobcat or backhoe

Can't remember the exact hours, but I want to say it was 12 hours...most of the time was just driving back and forth (almost 1/4 mile each way). If you can have the drop a huge pile of dirt/clay I think a bobcat is totally doable. Amazing what you can accomplish with just sheer will!!
