    Im doing this to my 84 c10. I have a 250 straight 6 in mine. Im gettin a parts truck in a couple weeks with a lot of what ill need...decently low miles. Its a 95 chevy 1500 with 127k on it. Good engine and 5spd in it. I didn't know the thing about the pedals...ill have to hunt down that same assembly yall got. I was hoping the pedals from the donor truck were gonna fit :/. Good stuff guys! I appreciate you making this video! The flywheel info is probably gonna apply to my project as well, so, good to know that too!

    Do you have the part numbers for
    1. The flywheel for the (2 piece rear main block ) ... Is that 1985 , 305?
    2. the part number of the clutch kit for the disc and pressure plate. S10 4.3?
    After a few months of driving, how do you like it?
    Thanks.

    • @halfahotrods6332
      @halfahotrods6332  Год назад

      We looked up the flywheel by application for I think an 84 C10 with a 305. The clutch parts we looked up by application for the 1991 S10 with a 4.3. Sorry it took me so long to get back with you but my son did most of the work, so I had to double check with him, He is really liking driving it. We're unsure of exact mileage because we haven't figured out how to make the odometer and speedometer work but it seems to be doing very well. Thanks for watching!

      We used a stock fork for the S10. You may have a hydraulic issue because we really struggled to get all the air out of the system.

    I recently bought (I think) the same transmission. My mechanic says it is a Getrag HM290. Is that what yours is as well?

    • @halfahotrods6332
      @halfahotrods6332  Год назад

      I believe ours is an NV3500 but I'm basing that on what it came out of. I think they are very similar, but the only way to know for sure would be to crawl under it to get a closer look and get some numbers off it. It sounds like the HM290 came before the NV3500 so I would expect it to work fine too as long as it was behind a V8 or a 4.3 originally. Thanks for watching and I'm happy to help answer any other questions!

    • @halfahotrods6332
      @halfahotrods6332  2 года назад +2

      Chevy and GMC both started using hydraulic clutch in 85. We used a hydraulic setup. Earlier pedals can be converted to hydraulic too. You just want to make sure they come from a square body for the easy fitment. Thanks for watching and the question!

    • @halfahotrods6332
      @halfahotrods6332  Год назад +2

      @@shaneworthley5345 I think it's as simple as placing a hydraulic rod in the correct place on the clutch arm and drilling a hole and then mounting a clutch master on the firewall where it should already have dimples for the holes...and of course adding the hose, etc. Sorry for the terribly delayed response!

    • @halfahotrods6332
      @halfahotrods6332  Год назад

      It will physically fit it but it probably won’t respond well to big block torque or any hot rodding. It’s a pretty light duty unit. You’d be better off with an NV4500 for the 454. Thanks for watching!
