Easy way to get a white background with flat lighting - Shading->World->Add->Texture->Sky Texture
Set your camera to orthographic and zero its rotation.
    Enable freestyle.
    Instant 2D line drawing.
You can use the "Freestyle SVG Export" addon to easily export only the freestyle line layer to an SVG file.
Line-art is the new method of doing this but I'm not familiar enough with it to quickly write down how it's done.

It's nice that this can be done in Blender, and you can configure all the details. Good option if you must do this in Blender, and only need it once or twice. But boy does it take time this one!

Personally I'd use CAD for something that's not organic in nature. Most of my 3d prints need accurate modelling. I generally model using onshape and export to slice using cura.

It is very clear, that Blender isn't so productive for drafting purposes. I'll just stick to CAD for modelling and draft work. Will probably use Blender for animation and rendering.

That sounds like a perfect combo to me.
One thing that I do find blender to be a little bit better sometimes for is Mesh work too.

@@Keep-Making Yeahh!, I tried doing some mesh editing in FreeCAD but it's just so annoying, Blender is basically the go-to for that, without a doubt.
But FreeCAD is pretty good and polished for the rest of CAD stuff at this point.

Could something similar be achieved with the improved Lineart tool in 3.0?

No problem and YUP it is a nightmare!

It's too clunky to be useable. I understand as this is not a CAD software. Hopefully someone knowledgeable enough cares to write an add-on to simplify the process.

      We can only hope!
Who knows, if the channel explodeds I'll be sure to put plenty of addons into development

Well I think Clockmender (those behind PDT add-on) are working on some 2D-drafting tools based on measureIT add-on, not sure about their progress though, it's mentioned in their GitHub.

you could do this faster WITHOUT the addon.

lol this is not possible to automatically generate in Blender? Bad. Very bad. You know why? With any tiny change if this model, you have to repeat all of this, instead of generating with one mouse click again. Disappointed

not very intuitive and precise for this job this tool.

My response to those who proclaim that Blender is not a CAD program - it needs to be! It will be !
One example is that stage delivery and digital delivery of theatrical development are losing their distinctions. MANDALORIAN ? Artists need to model real world assets to get the best possible digital models for that real environment. The only ways to create those models - accuracy is needed for safety and art - is to either use photogrammetry or CAD. Photogrammetry requires pre-existence. CAD, therefore, is the only method whereby one can create an accurate model that can be printed and then safely used as a prop in a realistic - real - stage.
[ EDIT - I want to clarify that by CAD I am referring to 2D technical drawing. The traditional ways are the only ways to create an accurate model. Parametric modeling on the fly is great for creating sketches and ideas. But, to create the actual, accurate model, the drawings need to be made. Often the 3D idea sketch changes to the new lines. Further, outside software is not viable for long term use, because their file support paradigms will change. They may not continue to facilitate file types that are useable in our preferred model maker.
Creators need to be able to work within one package throughout their work flow. Blender is very wide and deep. It needs to add the ability to go from a technical quality illustration made within it - to the model generated from it. We can make the models from imported blueprints. Let us make the models from blueprints we make within Blender. ]
Blender IS CAD. The only question regardless whether it wants to be perceived as useful.
