If you really think about it, this is the best ending for Clover as a whole. In the end of Undertales's true pacifist route Frisk was not only able to set the monsters free from the underground, making Clover's sacrifice worth it, but if you were to go back to the coffin after you beat Asriel you can see that the human souls managed to go back to their bodies (don't ask me how or if they are even still in one piece). This gives us some hope that Clover might have been able to reunite with his friends and actually finishing what he set out to do in the beginning, finding and setting the human souls free.
@@IrisMatos2 IIRC it was implied when you go to visit the children's graves that the bodies were mummified, so the corpses could still be intact, although most likely not ENTIRELY whole.

I never got to play undertale blind, so this was my first experience having a game hit like this with no spoilers... oh my God it hurt. absolutely phenomenal project. the characters and art are fantastic and just- the story was so emotionally devastating.
This fangame absolutely deserves to be considered official. While I was somewhat spoiled of undertale before watching a full playthrough, this hit as hard (if not harder) than the original experience and I am NOT ashamed to admit the end scenes made me nasty cry
SPOILER FREE COMMENT: I didn't want to be spoiled by this video so I just played the whole pacifist run in full. I can say without a doubt I was not expecting to be so moved by this game. I hadn't played any Undertale fan game up to this point but when I heard this was 7 years in the making I knew it had to be worth a shot playing. What a phenomenal game. 💛💛💛
Haven’t cried at a game since Undertale and I almost cried at this that itself shows you just how good it is. Edit:Change of plans watching the ending again made me cry RIP Clover
It makes genocide in Undertale a lot worse then it seems already. Clover sacrifices their own life to free monsters just so you the player can come and destroy everything they sacrificed their life for
5:06:28 (plot spoilers. Obviously) Chujin losing his job because one of his projects nearly burned asriel's grave/final resting place in front of asgore is so darkly funny
I was never particularly interested in looking into fan games, but a few posts on tumblr talking about how great and emotionally impactful the game was sold me on watching your playthroughs, and watching this one sold me on deciding to play the game myself. I'm doing the pacifist route first and I already cried watching this, but I'm going to start sobbing because of this one important announcement for anyone who sees this comment!! (Minor spoilers I think?): If you talk to El Bailador and cycle through all his dialogue when you're on the dance floor in Hotland, the last thing he says is, "If I were you, I would let loose and dance with us! One never knows when they dance their last." And if you stay on the dance floor (regardless if you talk to him or not) and don't move, Clover starts dancing on their own and it is SO ADORABLE IT'S 3AM AND I CAN'T WITH THIS GAME IT'S SO GOOD!!!
Trust me when I say that by the time you're done with her on the murder run, you'll very much not be feeling bad for her because she will have kicked your ass so many times Bluebird got hands
@@scriggle3564for them, yeah. but, spoilers: Considering the underground wasn't entirely genocided, it will make it cl*over* for future humans who fall down there. With all the massacre that happened, Asgore dead, and the physical evidence of a human absolutely destroying everything in its path the underground will go full anti-human and kill any human who falls down there, probably led by Undyne as literally no one will want Toriel and her "no killing humans" policy. Also, if Sans appears, there's no promise he needs to hold any longer. so, if Frisk falls to the underground in that timeline they'll most likely be dead the moment they enter. along with any other human in the future, which will eventually result in some monster becoming a God, which means war.
3:58:50 As they're talking about Kanako being sent to the Lab and being one of the Amalgamates, right at this moment the music has the motif from "Here We Are" aka the True Lab music. Idk how many people noticed this but I had to point it out, it blew me away.
I think this has fully proven my theory that Shayy has bright red soul and is determined to finish games as fast as he can to upload them to a platform with friendly competitors.
Edit: I hadn't seen the Genocide or Neutral endings prior to writing this, but justified somewhere in the replies what my reasoning was for assuming all endings would end up in the same place. Read those if you're thinking I still haven't seen the other routes There's one thing this game did that is EXTREMELY clever with regards to how it allows itself to fit in the actual Undertale canon timeline without causing contradictions depending on which route you choose (such as if you do a genocide route instead of pacifist)- They simply didn't use the main cast of monsters in combat scenarios. You can't contradict the fact that Toriel is alive in Undertale if you don't get the option to kill her in Undertale Yellow. The developers for this clearly did their research and planning to ensure that the game perfectly fits alongside the original title it's based on, all in humor, storytelling, AND canon, while still being a fresh take on the world by introducing new parts of the underground. Easily the best fan game of any franchise to be created to date.
The only contradiction I could find is that Flowey exists here, as he is only created AFTER the 6 fallen humans died. Besides that, it could very well be the canon timeline from before Frisk fell.
@@BraedonElgin it's never stated that flowey was created after 6 humans died. the only knowledge we have of how many humans asgore killed at the time flowey was created is that it's more than one, since alphys' notes say she extracted determination from the "souls" plural.

Merg releases part one of his play through the other day, and THIS MADLAD releases their FULL PLAYTHROUGH just a couple days later. Kudos to you, Shayy
I really love how UT Y ties some stuff into Undertale too, and, while i am fully aware this is a fangame but, imagibe playing this, and then replaying Undertale, specially after not doing so for a while, even if not, pretendong its canon even if in the way of "the humans wnet theough their own u ique adventures and friends", and it just.. ugh adds so much power, at least for me
Y'know, it makes sense that an arcade machine in the Underground would focus on something positive like 'spreading love', because a lot of arcade games are about killing monsters, and when your whole soceity is full of monsters.... that might not be a good idea
After seeing this, I would like to see the journeys of each human before. Even if it’s non-canon it’d be nice to see a persons take on what they think.
This isnt just an amazing fangame, its an amazing game in general. So much care was put into every detail of this and the ending was phenominal. The story also had some great uses of dramatic irony as well. The only issue i can think of is that the combat looks a bit rough, and the dificulty seems a bit inconsistent but thats pretty minor.
This was an experience, I'm glad I decided to watch it in one sitting. So much love was put into this fangame. The story, the characters, they were all phenomenal. I don't think I have it in me to watch geno, at least not so soon after pacifist.
It’s so good! Oh for a fangame I was not expecting something so spectacular, this is on the same (or similar) levels as undertale itself! Holy. The 5:49:15 transition to the Another Medium remix hits hard! And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
This game is absolutely amazing and this video carried me through a pretty bad time in my life I'm going through. That ending had me crying and in the final bit I said out loud "It kinda sucks that Dalv isn't here," and then he showed up and I started bawling. Thank you Undertale Yellow team for making this game, It's amazing and I will be thinking about your characters for time to come. And thank you Shayy for playing this, so I could experience this magic when I both wouldn't have otherwise, and even when I thought "I could stop watching this video and just go play the game myself" I wasn't physically well enough to want to do that. While I don't think I will end up playing this myself, I'm going to INSIST that my friend plays this, because he loves both UT and DR. Also, he refuses to play said games alone, both because of Dyslexia and because I help him by reading the dialogue and voicing all the characters. So I cannot wait to share this magical game with him, and to put my own spin on this by coming up with how I'm going to voice everyone. Once again, Thank you Undertale Yellow team for this wonderful game, and thank you Shayy for allowing me to experience it this way. I really needed this today, and I love you all very much. Thank you.
6:49:02 technically technically the Omega flowey fight does happen. Flowey only gets Papyrus to convince Undyne to send her letter after losing to frisk in the Pacifist neutral ending, sooo canonically the omega flowey fight happens and then time gets set back to get the true pacifist ending.
@unhombrecualquiera119 ya, it's crazy what people will do with inspiration and love for the source material. It is said that fanfiction is the most passion filled form of creation, simply because you cannot profit from it and therefore only the most dedicated people ever make it.
Crazy how this got released in a time where cancellation is high priority. FNF Mods get cancelled due to people leaking everything, SoundCloud Tourneys get cancelled due to either burnout or the creator being a legitimately bad person, and don't get me started on the *people* that get cancelled. That's a whole different story. 8 years is a long time to wait for something, and most things are cancelled within that timeframe. Makes you appreciate that this saw the light of day at all.
I've had to watch this over the course of a few days. It's been awhile since I last cried. I am hurt emotionally in ways I cannot describe after seeing that ending.
banger, i'm afraid (FINAL BOSS SPOILERS) the fact that the MAD MEW MEW OPTIONAL ARCADE GAME was foreshadowing for the final boss is so cool. reminds me of deltarune chapter 2 where they foreshadow giga queen with the forced punch out minigame against queen. also the fact that turns from a silly game about a cowboy kid becoming a deputy to fighting a kitsune-empowered mage under the cherry blossoms is actually so cool

If it can make everyone feel better, Clover and the other humans come back to life at the end of the True Pacifist Run of Undertale. If you go to the castle's basement after fighting Asriel, you can see that the coffins are now open and empty. Asriel didn't just give their SOULs back to the monsters.
@@synthetic_creature It doesn't feel right. Only a few minutes pass between the end of the fight against Asriel and the moment when Frisk wakes up. They wouldn't have time to take the bodies and bury them. Beside, why bury them now when they could be buried later in a proper cemetery once everyone is down the mountain?
Thank you so much for bringing this into my eyes. Even if I were never there on stream, this was, without a doubt, one of the greatest games I have ever seen. I will never forget my and my brother's eyes when watching this, either separately or together.
After 7 long years, it's finally here I just love the attention to detail to make everything connect with Frisk's story in Undertale, the game does really feel like it takes place in beetween Chara's and Frisk's adventure in underground, after all the other 5 children beetween both went to the Underground I also love the rest, everything in this game so well made and crafted, just like in the original game, characters, sprites, musics, story, aesthetic, etc. Everything makes the game feels like it takes place in Undertale's universe and story, that it is the underground, the same location, but without getting samey with the OG game and boring because it is the same places we know already, with new places in beetween the old ones and new things on the ones we know already, and of course, amazing character development just like in the Original Undertale, every character has their own personality and life and they are really likeable
I am genuinely in awe here. The humor, the battles, the story, the plot twists, the complexity of the characters, plus this really feels like it falls more in line with canon than any other fan creation out there (no shade on those, this one is just... W O W.) i hope with all of my SOUL that Toby Fox plays this, or at least watches a playthrough. Hell, i hope he brings these devs on for Chapters 5-7. Side note I'm learning to draw again and going to set a goal to make Ceroba art, especially from the battle.

(Minor spoilers I think?):
If you talk to El Bailador and cycle through all his dialogue when you're on the dance floor in Hotland, the last thing he says is, "If I were you, I would let loose and dance with us!
I like their strategy of making genocide harder by requiring a piece of your actual real life soul to harm that snowdin bird lady
Trust me when I say that by the time you're done with her on the murder run, you'll very much not be feeling bad for her because she will have kicked your ass so many times
Bluebird got hands
Genocide ending is probably the best outcome for clover and the rest of the souls
Oh yeah, I was fully on-board with clover haha
@@scriggle3564for them, yeah. but, spoilers:
Considering the underground wasn't entirely genocided, it will make it cl*over* for future humans who fall down there.

Edit: I hadn't seen the Genocide or Neutral endings prior to writing this, but justified somewhere in the replies what my reasoning was for assuming all endings would end up in the same place. Read those if you're thinking I still haven't seen the other routes
There's one thing this game did that is EXTREMELY clever with regards to how it allows itself to fit in the actual Undertale canon timeline without causing contradictions depending on which route you choose (such as if you do a genocide route instead of pacifist)-
They simply didn't use the main cast of monsters in combat scenarios.
@@BraedonElginwhere does it say that?
@@BraedonElginIt doesn’t say that anywhere? I don’t know where you’re getting that from
@@BraedonElgin it's never stated that flowey was created after 6 humans died. the only knowledge we have of how many humans asgore killed at the time flowey was created is that it's more than one, since alphys' notes say she extracted determination from the "souls" plural.

Also, he refuses to play said games alone, both because of Dyslexia and because I help him by reading the dialogue and voicing all the characters. I also love the rest, everything in this game so well made and crafted, just like in the original game, characters, sprites, musics, story, aesthetic, etc.
