    I’d like to see a “store 6 pick 2” system with gear. You could put 6 gizmos on your gear, but only have two of them active at a time. Then you could select which gizmo you want active on-the-fly.

    I like the beast slayer and Omni slayer idea but I think beast slayer just make work at all bosses and call it boss slayer for like 5% to 10% damage or so. Also along with the accuracy scrimshaws for melee,range,mage the of ing of human ability is useless now 2 and could use a rework
    Deathdealer perk- %? chance per rank to apply death mark target

  • @itsyaboidragon
    @itsyaboidragon 5 месяцев назад +5

    Accuracy scrims could get changed to crit chance and crit damage so superior would be 4% on each while you could just add accuracy to the damage ones like elements. So superior elements would be 6.6% accuracy and damage

    • @X_Woods
      @X_Woods 5 месяцев назад

      Seems pretty busted. 6.6% is a pretty big buff for 'free' in respect to action economy. Would have to be something closer to 1~2% for lower tier, and 3~4% for superior, which would still be pretty dang strong.

  • @AverageHomeBoy
    @AverageHomeBoy 5 месяцев назад

    What I think they should do is make it to where you "unlock" the perks and can select perks from a list. And if you want to argue that it could mess with the economy of building multiple expensive perks, just make it to where you store perks. Such as, if you've crafted 2 biting +, you store 2 biting + for use that don't deplete.
    I think it's a system and interface issues moreso than adding even more items to invention, in my opinion.

    We definitely need a skrimshaw overhaul

  • @jlayman89
    @jlayman89 5 месяцев назад

    Scrims into perks feels perhaps a tad convoluted imo. I think if they want to push them into relevance again, make the damage ones also boost accuracy and change the accuracy ones to crit chance. Maybe ghe damage ones are 3% and 4% for superior and the same for crit chance. I guess csmp also increases accuracy or damage by 3% and heals 3%? Then maybe give us a scrim slot in equipment? Ports is end-game content behind a grind, and its pretty meh anymore. It's a flat-out power increase to do this, but i think the days of worrying about power are long behind us? Pup did a sub 60s Raksha ranged camp. Damage is just off the charts at the top end.
    Ths helmet augmentation is something i talked about a while ago. I also said the same for gloves and boots, but they can maintain more limited capability. Consider something like cinderbanes DA into toxic compa which cna be turned into a perk thats effectively cinderbanes. This opens the glove slot up. Helmets arent as crowded, but its something to consider.
    Im unsure how the game would even break if we just had 5 or 6 slots at once? I mean we get both devotions, imp, relent, crackling, biting and mobile/slayer perk. So we add in geno, invig, and what? Also more perked gear is more drain and more upkeep so it is balanced out in a way.
    I think 1 fundamental flaw with invention is failed rolls. If i want to roll for a4e2 and its 29%. Its gonna take me over 3 rolls on average, so why not let me use 3 rolls worth of comps to guarantee it? This is effectively similar, but emotionally very different. It doesnt feel like dog shit to toss away the 80m or whatever they are.

  • @TristanCorpron
    @TristanCorpron 5 месяцев назад +1

    I think a good solution would be to have a perk unlock mechanic. You could still use the current gizmo configuration, or you could make a new type of gizmo for a rarer chance of the perk but destroys the gizmo and permanently unlocks the perk you roll. You can then “check” your gear and select the gizmo slot on it and any unlocked perk combinations show up there and you can choose what perks to use. There could be a cost to change if necessary idk

    • @mohanv6458
      @mohanv6458 5 месяцев назад +1

      Get the SGB first to use with dinarrows since they are super strong right now, and you can use the spec + benefit from Dracolich until you upgrade to the BoLG. Then you EoF the SGB and then buy the ecb, by which time you should (ideally) be comfortable enough with ranged to juggle multiple EOFs.

      Depends on the bosses you fight most I’d say. If you fight more bosses where they take up 3x3 tiles or more then get the SGB. If you fight a lot of bosses you can souls split through, then get the ECB. That was my thought prossess, I went with the ecb and threw it into an EoF.

    Feels bad to put a QoL concept behind additional steps. It seems like a better solution would be able to put multiple perks on a piece of gear that you can toggle freely. This would still require the investment of each perk on each gear piece, but once you have all your perks setup, you can freely toggle the perks as you change bosses or situations. This would also help being able to swap to something like scavenging 4 when you do slayer tasks, without needing another piece of gear.

    Personally the problem with melee and the original three styles is far larger and requires a lot more work than a sticky plaster pocket slot item (in the case of melee).
    Jagex needs to spend a lot of time reinventing the original styles to act similarly to necromancy in its simplicity and stack management.

  • @X_Woods

    This is literally all power creep talk. While I'm fine with it, but when your talking about reducing 4 actions (summoning conjures) that reduce naturally to one action (Undead Army), and then mitigating that one action to a 'free' tick.... While I love the idea, that's honestly a lot of power in terms of what the player has to accomplish in order to maintain output.
    Necro is already the premier style for most boss encounters, there isn't a reason for it to have the additional perks. Seems cool, but in practice it would invalidate the combat rework to bring the others up to speed. While it wouldn't be a huge deal in a year (or two), whenever the other styles get more upgrades, to give necro these tools; doing it right now would be terrible for the economy reducing the things you were calling worthless even further into obscurity.
    That said, I'd love them to drop the named enemy slayer perks for just "Slayer" as a perk that does it for everything for sure, and then use the existing design structure to output new perks where we would have gotten other variations of the named enemy slayer perks.
    That said, this could also be fixed easily with an upgrade to the augmenter that can be applied retroactively to augmented gear, that simple allows you to freely exchange perks.
    Lots of ways for this to be done, but for it to be done it means that the people in charge have to care more about the game than the profits, which in the case of rs3 hasn't really be the case for about five years at least.

    • @JoFo-cl6ro
      @JoFo-cl6ro 5 месяцев назад

      Perks aren’t just about adding additional power to gear. It just happens to be the benefit that allows invention to serve its real purpose: to keep the game’s economy in check.
      If it weren’t for invention, only the bis gear would have any real value, and all other gear would be worthless, which would result in most of the game’s bosses becoming dead content. A prime example of this is the Dragon Rider Lance vs Masuta’s Warspear. The later is two levels higher in damage, but is worth 25x less than the former, because it has no invention value.

      @@seejoshrun1761 somewhat, but not much. Again, let’s use aftershock as the example. As for me, I want aftershock 4 / eruptive 2. It took me 7 attempts to get that perk. I ended up with 5 useless aftershock 4 gizmos that I’ll never use (1 ended up as just eruptive 2😭) However, many people would be perfectly happy with just an aftershock 4, and are ok with sacrificing that 1% extra dps to save 100m gp. If I could sell the gizmos I didn’t want, then the market would consist of people like me, making excess gizmos, selling the ones I don’t want, and devaluing everything else in the process.
      Looking at it that way, it’s also because of assholes like me, buying up so much of this gear for my perfect gizmos, that the gear is at the price it is in the first place.
