Lord Huron's Ben Schneider performed solo at Capital Hill for Steve Gleason's Congressional Gold Medal ceremony. Gleason received the award for his advocacy for people with ALS.

And in the capital, wearing a cowboy hat with a suit. Credit is due for being authentic and unaffected by fame.
What that's crazy. That's a pretty big honour. But can I say that MIC QUALITY IS TERRIBLE. They couldn't have just adjusted it for Ben. Eesh, I feel bad. Lol
Yeahhh I wish the levels would've been adjusted before he got up there.
What an honor, Ben greatly deserved it. The audience wasn’t fully aware of what a privilege they were given.
Feels like such a weird crossover seeing him in a room with people like Mitch and Nancy. I normally try to seperate LH's music from reality. But this was cool.
Hah, I totally agree. I wonder how many people here (other than Steve Gleason) knew of LH.

Drew Brees was definitely into the performance. So crazy that the Saints were there. I was a huge Saints fan growing up, I’m from Biloxi, Ms. Obviously I love Lord Huron also but I never knew this existed.
I do not believe Ben was the recipient of anything here, rather he was dutifully performing to honor Mr. Gleason. I would think if that was the case, Mr. Gleason would have been asked and shared his fondness of Lord Huron and Ben. The fact that Ben agreed to perform in such a fashion is wonderful, as is the song. The fact that most of the stodgy, hollow figures present seemed unaffected, even disinterested, speaks to their own emptiness as human beings. The powerful message in the song and artist must have been quite stirring for Mr. Gleason (and friends or family with him). "There's a world that was meant for our eyes to see." The empty suits in that room are oblivious to such a world and really didn't even warrant the privilege of being there...
Correct, Ben was not receiving an award. He was performing because Steve Gleason is a fan.
@@CobbAvery And I thank you for giving me the privilege to see it.
You know, I’d wanted to hear him live, just him singing, no microphone or amps, just basically Ben singing to himself. I wanted to hear what that sounded like. I think this is as close as I’ll get to that. Thank you for putting this out there, it’s a small moment of joy for me.
This is definitely a unique performance. I don't know of any other time he went solo! And you're welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I watched this so long ago, and it's totally interesting watching again today after Ive begun to conquer my stage fright. Incredible
It must've been strange for him to play for a silent room instead of a concert crowd!
People complaining about the mic quality like it doesn’t sound exactly like every “🌿Lord Huron but from another room ✨aesthetic✨🌙” edit on YT 😭😭😭
Hahaha I must say I’m not a fan of those!
The song that changed my life...❤️❤️❤️ This is where it all began.
It seems to inspire many people & especially those who are struggling. What an amazing honor for Ben that is very much deserved. ❤️ Very cool to see this! Thanks for sharing this & all the great videos, Cobb Avery
It's such a great song. And you're very welcome, I'm glad you enjoy the channel!
I love Ben of Lord Huron.
But this was quite unusual to see him sing sing in front of Politicians.
And in all honesty, they don't deserve such an authentic/pure voice and artist to sing in front of then.
Politics has no morals.
Lord Huron does.
Well, the ceremony was for Steve Gleason.
Holy crap dude!!!
Beautiful
