Portland guitarist Jeff Koch captures this same sound on his Ibanez with a Bigsby vibrato. Just heard him last week at Troutdale, Oregon's Edgefield Winery. What I wouldn't give to hear Jeff and bandmate Brian Copeland cover this gem of a song from Lord Huron. The first time I heard "Fool for Love" the backing vocals instantly reminded me of those in Buddy Holly and The Crickets' 1957 recording, "Not Fade Away" (later covered by The Rolling Stones in early 1964).

There are no words for what I’ve heard, that’s what I would say if it were truly simple to evade emotions when you experience them so rawly. This song perhaps arrived at just the right moment, maybe it’s the vibe it emits, the rhythm and melody, the endless words that can have so many meanings which make it appreciable regardless of the context in which you listen to it. I’m going to play it a thousand times, and I’ll never tire of it. The moment my heart stops beating, I’ll know that’s when this masterpiece will cease to play, because it truly touched my heart. 🍷
