I had the pleasure of climbing with one of the legends of competition climbing Kokoro Fuji in Tokyo. We talked about why he has been absent from the competition scene for the past year and what he has been doing with his free time👀

Epic! Kokoro is truly one of the kindest pro's I've met and I think you described it perfect when you said he carried no ego despite having accomplished so many incredible things. Love the videos 🔥
One of the most humble and down to earth climber I’ve ever met for sure
Despite the language barrier the emotion and honesty really came through in this video. Man I hope we continue to see Kokoro do great things
We had someone there to translate and all but he really wanted to say things in his own words and all so I really appreciated it!
@@Jonathan_sin88 that was also the impression I got while watching the video! I admire his courage; I'm just learning Japanese and don't even dare to speak without a camera.
When Jonathan releases a video, its a good day
Hahaha thank youuu🥹🥹🥹
Kokoro's always been one of my favourites to watch. Wishing him the best in his comeback to the comp scene.

Great video! Kokoro is my favorite professional climber, and it’s rare to see this type of content with him. He’s so chill lol. Also I noticed that your video quality has drastically improved over the year, great work! Can’t wait to see more ❤
I think it’s quite rare for him to do any content, still feel like I lived in a dream haha
Kokoro is one of my favourite climbers, thanks for having him 🎉👍 :)

Great video Jon, very easy to watch Kokoro is so strong
He’s not bad is he😂
i saw him training a group of japanese girls at bpump once, legend
That he’s for sureee
i would like to see a more extensive view into his warm up routine he did with you :)
Perhaps I’ll upload that somewhere in the futureeee
Looking strong Jonathan! What training tips (from the pros you've climbed with) have you continued to use? I've been trying to incorporate some of Tomoa's stretches he showed you into my workout lol
I think consistency and like being mindful of each decision you make when climbing, including stretching, what climbs you gonna do, why you fall nd all that
I love Kokoro cam 🤣
yaa a shame he's too busy doing unimportant things like winning world cups and sending V17s....🤣
Great video! love to see him climb!
Any chance we can have a more detail of the warm up with the pros? Hope we can learn something from it.
perhaps something in the futureeee
AYYY
Hahaha my man is on itttt🫶🫶

If only 5 Japanese athletes can represent Japan in a world cup, then why are there many semifinals with like 10 Japanese athletes?
I believe its different in lead climbing meaning they have more slots available. That’s why there are a lot of lead wc finals with 6 or 7 Japanese athletes competing
Looking at the results for the boulder world cup in Prague last week, there were 9 Japanese climbers climbing in qualification. So it's not just lead climbing.
It is a new rule for the next year's world cup series 😂
Certain athletes have their spots already based on result from previous season, but I think the rule is that if you didn’t make top 10 in the world the year prior, you don’t get a spot for YOU. If you ranked top 40, you earn an extra spot for your country but then it’s down to your federation to decide whether or not to send you or someone else. So I think in Japan, making top 40 in the world is just not good enough for them so who gets the spot is determined by top whatever number in the Japan Cup, disregarding athletes with their own spots. Definitely not 100% sure on this info but that’s my understanding and I’m pretty sure the rules are changing
