      I understand your perspective, Muhammad! I try to approach the topic through that perspective:
      I’ve seen many coaches limit touches to achieve:
      1- Faster playing speed;
      2- Faster overall intensity;
      3- Faster decision making;
      4- Playing with less touches;
      I’ve hardly seen coaches use it to what it is actually for:
      Support.
      Follow the thought…
      When you LIMIT the amount of touches a player can do, you are forcing him to solve situations with only those touches - let’s say 2 for the sake of the argument. By forcing him to solve situations with only 2 touches you are taking away from him his capacity to solve situations on his own. Now that he has only 2 touches, after he controls the ball, he can only pass it. Unpredictability has been seriously reduced and the possibility of solving 1v1 problems excluded from the game. Now, all there is left is the support from his teammates. By limiting touches you convert independent players into HIGHLY dependant players.
      So you should only limit touches when you want SUPPORT to be the focus of your exercise. And you should be correcting and intervening on it all the time. And let your players know that your goal is to practice SUPPORT.
      So, going back to what coaches thought they were doing by limiting touches..:
      1- Faster playing speed - wrong, the game isn’t faster, just more dependant.
      2- Faster overall intensity - wrong, what increases intensity is pressure.
      3- Faster decision making - wrong, dribbling and solving situations without limitations also involves decision making. It actually involves smarter decision making because you have more possibilities, so you need to choose wisely.
      4- Playing with less touches - wrong, because you are not letting your players decide, you’re limiting them, therefore you are not helping them understand the game, you are just forcing them to only use those touches.
