I had the s20U and did not notice 120Hz, so for the past 9-months it has been off and I get 1-2h extra SoT instead! Science says about 30% plus of people do not notice these refresh rates and if you are not used to a higher refresh rate it is not as obvious. It is very subjective and as it is really only superficial, for many of us it is not a big deal. At least it is dynamic on the s21U so you can benefit when you do a lot of reading as I do, as the rate will drop to 10Hz and save battery. That is the only reason I want it, as I do not fast scroll through web pages or my UI (just use one home screen). I think it is def overhyped.
That's interesting as I noticed immediately from my s10 plus to my s20 ultra then had iPhone 12 pro max and was underwhelmed with it. Now using the s21ultra and the entire UI is just smoother and fluid. But I also have a 120hz TV and 144hz computer and 120hz tablet so for me it's not just fast scrolling, it makes everything more fluid and smoother.
@@bathams actually because it's and LPTO 120hz display, it can adjust refresh rate per the content you are doing. So for example is I'm just simply reading it will be at let's say 10 hz, it is adaptive. I also have it on 1440p or wqhd resolution and I get through the whole day just fine. The ui and software does a great job at maintaining battery life. There are plenty of reviews showing this phone has excellent battery life. I also am not on my phone all day either as I work 8 hours a day, but on days off I have used my phone heavily and still had about 30 percent battery before bed which is somewhere around 10-1030 pm.

I believe that iOS and Android both have great things to offer and I've bounced back and forth between the two every couple of years. But I'm very satisfied with my purchase and your reviews have definitely helped with my decision. Great job.
I've had my s21 ultra for 2 weeks now coming from a note 10 plus. I absolutely love this phone's camera and design. I've been using the zoom camera to take pictures of the moon and people can't believe it came from a phone. I couldn't believe it the first time i seen it. It's a little less curved in the ends unlike my note 10 which is a good thing because it's screen protector doesn't come off with my otterbox defender case unlike the note.to me, it's just alot cleaner all across the board
I have both too but the iPhone 12PM's been sitting in the drawer since I got the Ultra. It's the most uncomfortable phone I've ever held. If you could combine the 2. How would you go about it? What would your perfect hybrid be?😀
@@Mrnovanova Agreed about the 12PM being really uncomfortable, I’ve returned it for that reason. The S21U is far easier to handle, but sadly still too heavy for my taste. It’s sad how tech companies don’t seem to care about the sheer weight of their flagships anymore
@@simoneaz80 they do, the s10 series was a showcase of light powerful phones, but with the shift to battery... a light phone with poor battery performance is a no go for sales.. low battery is a deal breaker yet people can put up with heavy phones.. also blame RUclips reviewers who praised iPhone for feeling premium because they were heavy in the hand.. Sammy was listening :(
I've always been an iPhone man but was really curious about the S21 Ultra mainly the zoom. I have several friends that had the 12 Pro Max so I didn't want to join the herd so this time I went with the Samsung and I'm quite happy. I did find out that Apple usually makes things work very well with as much Simplicity as possible and indeed the Android phone took me awhile to set up and get comfortable with. Having said that there's no way you could go wrong with either phone but the added Zoom made the difference for me. I always appreciate these videos, you have a friend in Columbus Ohio!
I completely disagree about the cameras. In my opinion the photos are slightly better on the iPhone, but the Galaxy slays the iPhone on the video part. Far better stability control, zoom, ability to shoot 8k and you didn't even mention directors view. In my opinion, Samsung is just a superior device.
As I said earlier as well that all the youtubers will choose the Samsung galaxy S21 ultra at the end but you can easily see an Apple watch on their wrist which says a lot and raise some questions. Even if an iphone is their secondary device then why don't they wear a Samsung watch or an android watch?
I agree with that sentiment. If they we're smart they would leave the Apple watch off for the video. I just don't trust any of these guys, they're bought and paid for! I suggest going to a Best buy or a cell phone store and mess around with it. But I would take what these tech reviewers say with a grain of salt.
What they need to do is get the presidents of both companies together and ask if they would allow the band U2 to download their album on peoples phones without permission.
Ive been switching back and forth for years between iOS and android and I’m at the point where I don’t need all the bells and whistles anymore. The s21 ultra is way more capable of a phone hands down but there’s something to say about the simplicity, the build quality, and usability of the 12 pro max. The one huge downside I couldn’t deal with anymore was not being able to send videos and photos to iPhone users. Having many group chats and all of them using iPhones it was getting old not being able to use iMessage
This is why I'm switching back over to iPhone. What's the point of all of these camera features and excellent pics and vids if you can't share them in their full quality.

Is it just me or does every iPhone photo or video I see have a layer of yellow across it. Every single photo from the Max seems to be too warm and people are calling it natural. Please tell me I am not the only one.
Yes, that is how Apple does it and I suspect they have done their research. You can record in RAW finally so it can easily be adjusted in the camera apps in a few seconds, so not important. However, I do prefer it!
On every phone camera, they never preform there best in auto. Any issues can be adjusted for and compensated by using the manual setting. Any camera which can override auto settings is the way to go. Forget auto and leaving it up to the camera, but like professionals use the manual mode on camera. Can adjust iso, shutter speed, white balance, so any imperfections can be ironed out manually and gives you a range of options using on auto will never give you. The software is fixed when it comes to using your camera on auto. The manual settings bypasses software imperfections. Either cameras can look as good as the other just by twinkling the camera manually. So would say no camera is worse than the other or better. The real test of a camera is using it in manual setting, not leaving it up to the camera
What a great video. Very well laid out and planned, in an incredibly informative, unbiased, professional manner. Thanks very much for producing! Great work !!
Plus the big notch really ruins the display on iPhone for me (& don’t forget ultra’s display is brighter & supports S-Pen too so it’s kinda hard to deny it’s not superior than the pro max)
I have just experienced 120hz and its hard to go back. People don't really pay it any mind because you can't see it in videos. But when you have it in hand and start scrolling 😎. Some iPhone users for now don't care because they haven't experienced it. But once they do they will definitely see the difference. Apple is always behind when it comes to putting the latest features in their phone. I really wish they would move faster and innovate when making the next iteration of an iPhone instead of only making minor tweaks. It makes them look lazy in my opinion.
Is there any point upgrading from an S10? It seems like there's been such minor daily usage affecting upgrades that it just doesn't seem worth the hassle
Honestly No. The S10 Is still a very capable phone after the 2 year launch. And the S21 series doesn't have much updates to switch. I'm keeping my S10 Plus
Most of those features on the S21 most people will only use once or twice to say they can. Like SPen, 8K video, and split screen. How does Samsung win hardware when the A14 Bionic is faster than the Snapdragon 888?
I’m stuck on the fence. I do alot of streaming. When I say a lot 3-6 hours everyday but I do keep phone plugged up the whole time I’m streaming. I like both and been with iPhone since the 4’s.i need one that won’t post fuzzy looking videos like my 8+ does. In the bright sunlight my 8+ sometimes is hard to see the pic thru the screen. Fades in and out. Maybe the newer phones won’t do this but only time will tell. I’m leaning towards the Samsung s21 ultra. Over all the looks and the rounded phone itself. I’m just not sure which one to get yet. S21 ultra or iPhone pro or max.
Personally, the only thing in my opinion stopping Apple from beating the Samsung is 120Hz, who else agrees, also if you have seen the sales for both phones, the iPhone still comes on top. But still Apple is still behind on hardware
I hope that if they make their last note, they put all in for the that phone to be the best of the best, to have not a single missing thing... It would be soo nice to have a phone that: Has the fastest chipset Best 120/244hz amoled or miniled display The best speakers A battery that can handle every type of consumer for a whole day A camera setup that can't be better in any way And all the extra options like sd card, 3.5mm audio jack, etc... What they are removing for no good reasons in my opinion. If it's going to be the last note, please let it be the BEST 🙏🏻
I don't prefer Android due to any ecosystems. I'm always having to find an Apple work around to complete actions i take for granted on android. I do admire the basic simplicity of the iphone and ios at times, but i admire the ability to achieve more with less input and the more open nature of android personally. I could probably jailbreak an iphone to achieve everything an android phone is capable of doing by default, but that goes against one of the strengths of ios being a more closed system. These phones truly fill different wants and needs

OK, here’s the deal with me: the work I perform demands I have a suitable tool to record my work as well as make contact with clients. In other words, I could not care less how these devices fare as “fashion statements.” In fact, with a Supcase or Otterbox Defender attached, one shouldn’t care anyway. As an Apple 12 Pro Max owner, I appreciate and envy the 10X zoom and the pointing device of the Samsung, because they increase the utilitarian value of what is more a portable computing device than a “phone.” In fact and to that point, I went ahead and purchased a DJI Pocket 2 just to enhance my iPhone’s photographic capabilities. Sure, the combo is just a “tad” outside what could be considered portable, but the results are well worth it ... and I’m still left being envious not having that pointing device. In all, I’m sticking with Apple only because I’m so deeply immersed and tethered to iOS, that switching now would be more of a pain in the rump than I’m willing to embrace. Personally....I don't need 120hz refresh rate...I don't play games n all....just browsing and social media (so, I'm definitely not the correct person to judge the 120hz thing)
But I do need smooth operation which apple gives me without any extra load on battery.
I don't need flagships either but ip rating and 5.5-6.5 inch screen is what I need the most.
Glad Sammy is gonna have ip rating on A72 and A52(I guess).
And the biggest trend. Huge phones...just dumb. I would rather choose tablets or my pc for work rather than jamming everything into that 7inch screen phone. They don't even fit in pockets.

@The Vegay Yes I do.. I don’t see a way to disable ads in the Samsung weather app. Looks pretty terrible.

dude i got the 21 ultra, and that 120hz screen is amazing. I cannot go back to the 60 hz screen
Bet your battery doesnt last long running it on 120hz though

But I'm very satisfied with my purchase and your reviews have definitely helped with my decision. Great job.
How is the Ultra doing now?
I've had my s21 ultra for 2 weeks now coming from a note 10 plus. I absolutely love this phone's camera and design. I've been using the zoom camera to take pictures of the moon and people can't believe it came from a phone. I couldn't believe it the first time i seen it. It's a little less curved in the ends unlike my note 10 which is a good thing because it's screen protector doesn't come off with my otterbox defender case unlike the note.to me, it's just alot cleaner all across the board
I'm going to miss the S-pen unfortunately.

@@Mrnovanova Agreed about the 12PM being really uncomfortable, I’ve returned it for that reason. The S21U is far easier to handle, but sadly still too heavy for my taste. It’s sad how tech companies don’t seem to care about the sheer weight of their flagships anymore

I just buy the s21 ultra last week and I'm so satisfied on it, damn you yan do a lot of things on this phone 🔥

The software is fixed when it comes to using your camera on auto. The manual settings bypasses software imperfections. Either cameras can look as good as the other just by twinkling the camera manually. So would say no camera is worse than the other or better. I have just experienced 120hz and its hard to go back. People don't really pay it any mind because you can't see it in videos. But when you have it in hand and start scrolling 😎. Some iPhone users for now don't care because they haven't experienced it. But once they do they will definitely see the difference. So, I had a chance to trade in for the pro max and barely spend a dime..
after 26 hours of trying to set this beast up, I had to take a nap.. i-cloud accounts, passwords, and Pass codes up the ass etc..my God, I almost returned it.. Apple as I remember it I thought.. to many hoops to jump through etc.. But once set up, its as fluid and smooth water.. the modular shape is easy to hold. it just feels well made..
The operation is easy and logical, ( now that its set up) lol...swipes are rocket fast, the sound is just wrong, range, depth and it gets loud!! . I dont play games, watch you tube etc but I can see where this best would kick ass for that.. I dont find the infinity screen and 4 cameras a huge selling point, so for now I am super happy with the Apple. We shall see how things progress..Thanks..
fun video, respectful comments which are always fun to read.
I really like how unbiased Jaime is. He’s very awesome at comparisons imo
Mr hymen Rivera - please don't advertise sub standard cases during your videos. You tube already has ads. Also the iPhone is rocking the same design they had like 9 years ago and the notch still makes it look like your grandads phone.
Beautifully presented❤
I will pick iphone. Cos the durability and with time samsung tends to lag a lot which is not the case with iphone
Nah bro. You just want an iPhone cause you never had one. In India iphones cost an average man's yearly salary. I get it. Its the floss factor you're after!
Samsung flagships don't lag, where have you been?
@@lbeetech well why did my 6 month old s20 lag all the time? not much, but still some
@@tommior9553 I'm pretty sure it was an application or some launcher that you downloaded... Take responsibility for you. Android is not for everybody.
@@lbeetech why so defensive lol. I been an android user for over 5 years. I had stock launcher and barely any apps lol
got any more excuses? are u saying its 100% impossible for a samsung phone to lag over time? thats what u are saying?
Have been used IPhone for a while now. Decided to pick up a Samsung device and it was awesome. Personally don't like the design, shape of the IPhone 12 PMax. S21 ultra just looks sexier, more unique to me.
The head lines you reviewers be adding is funny! (you'll be shocked) lol. 🤦🏾
lol...too melodramatic for a tech review hahaha 🤦🏾♂️
Galaxy cameras are better on paper but when uploaded to social media the end result always looks way better on iphone for some reason. I guess it has something to do with the app development and the optimization on apple.
Had to slow the playback down just to hear how he said his name better 😂 it's like one syllable in normal speed!
Uncle roger called, he wants his tshirt back!!
I don't get this Samsung or Apple partisanship... they're just phones...
Just because “they are phones” doesn’t mean we shouldn’t express our opinions and exchange them about why we think one is better over the other like civilized people. What you should criticize though is people who don’t argue like civilized people.
@@utubekullanicisi ok ok, I just don't see why people say one is better over the other, they both have goods and bads 😁
@@FlorinGN that's also true, but in my opinion it's verry good people argue between those phones, it's easier for them to decide what phone they would go for next and so...
If there weren't arguments about it, then the phone companies wouldn't have any more reasons to upgrade their phones :p
Should Samsung one day develop a phone that will “beam me up to the Starship Enterprise”, then yup ... I’ll be a Samsung fan. 😎
I agree. Whatever makes your work-life easier and I tried Android and iOS and the iPhone, in the end, was far better for me and my business. That is not to say Android is bad, just that for work the ecosystem of Apple is far superior and we are going back 12-years, so like you, I am now fully integrated into the ecosystem even though Samsung has improved lately.
The speaker on the s21 ultra is world's! Ahead of the iPhone fyi 😇
You probably didn't turn on Dolby atmos
Mind blowing for movies better then iphone
@@mryusuf4020 no doubt. Exynos kinda disappointing but still better hardware
I just switched back to iPhone after about 7 years. I don’t think I can go back to Samsung.
I'm going to return my iPhone 12 pro max and get the 21 ultra. I don't like the feeling of it in my hand raw dog. I like how it looks but not how it feels in the hands.
Both are exceptional devices!
Look, either multi tasking is done right, or not at all. With most Android apps not working properly in multi task, I'd say it's a +0.5 points to Samsung.
All apps aren't supposed to work, so there's that...
Despite only limited apps being able to split screen, it's still a possibility that androids have over iOS. It is just Apple's choice for not allowing it since ipads have proper multitasking for years. At least, apple finally supported PiP
Someone finally said it!
Samsung has the better ecosystem
1:11 what?? 😂😂😂 replayed like 10 times
The iPhone 12 went back to the crappy iphone 4 brick design 😂
That iphone looks so outdated!
That’s what I thought about the Bulky looking S21 Ultra. The iPhone looks much more refined to me
Love the music 🎶... ur revive as always great.
Both great devices but overall better app experience in iOS
Another day. Another Video about the S21 Ultra phantom black color. Let's do it 😁
I watch at least 1 a day 😆
🤘🏾💪🏾
Boi
S21 Ultra in Silver is underrated
Loving mine coming from the Note 10 plus!!
Ultra is superior and even Apple heads know it. 🤣
No it’s deffo not
“I’m am Jaime Rivera for pocket now” almost has legendary as “I’m Batman”
It’s been years that I still try to pronounce his name
I love his voice ^•^
i just bought the iphone 12 pro max pacific blue and i don't regret my purchase. I love the feeling in my hands, I'm in love with the look. But I have to admit the S21 ultra is great too.
S21 ultra is king of display, 120 hz on wqhd 💥
same. I thought id never say this... but I totally dig the pro max.
