I laughed a bit when you said "the companies started listening to their consumers", with apple still stuck at 60Hz Display, no in-display fingerprint and no USB-C. You know the consumers wanted these and not a flat design hehe
Actually. Consumers wanted flat design 😂 Anyways. 60hz is definitely a drawback. In display sensor aren't as accurate as side mounted/power button integrated. Btw. I had the s20U and did not notice 120Hz, so for the past 9-months it has been off and I get 1-2h extra SoT instead! Science says about 30% plus of people do not notice these refresh rates and if you are not used to a higher refresh rate it is not as obvious. It is very subjective and as it is really only superficial, for many of us it is not a big deal. At least it is dynamic on the s21U so you can benefit when you do a lot of reading as I do, as the rate will drop to 10Hz and save battery. That is the only reason I want it, as I do not fast scroll through web pages or my UI (just use one home screen). I think it is def overhyped.
That's interesting as I noticed immediately from my s10 plus to my s20 ultra then had iPhone 12 pro max and was underwhelmed with it. Now using the s21ultra and the entire UI is just smoother and fluid. But I also have a 120hz TV and 144hz computer and 120hz tablet so for me it's not just fast scrolling, it makes everything more fluid and smoother.
@@bathams actually because it's and LPTO 120hz display, it can adjust refresh rate per the content you are doing. The ui and software does a great job at maintaining battery life. There are plenty of reviews showing this phone has excellent battery life. Ive been switching back and forth for years between iOS and android and I’m at the point where I don’t need all the bells and whistles anymore. The s21 ultra is way more capable of a phone hands down but there’s something to say about the simplicity, the build quality, and usability of the 12 pro max. The one huge downside I couldn’t deal with anymore was not being able to send videos and photos to iPhone users. Having many group chats and all of them using iPhones it was getting old not being able to use iMessage
This is why I'm switching back over to iPhone. What's the point of all of these camera features and excellent pics and vids if you can't share them in their full quality.

An Apple and Huawei user here: Let's give credit to Huawei for paving the way for the S21U... The P30 Pro was two years ahead of its time when it comes to camera hardware. I had the chance to put the P30 Pro and iPhone 12 to the test, and the P30 Pro scores a comfortable win in the camera department (of course except in video). The flexibility is incredible. Therefore, logically the S21U is much better than the iPhone.

Despite the cameras being better for zoom on the S21 Ultra, I would still easily go for the iPhone instead just for my love of iOS. I own an iPhone 11 and just love how it works with my iPad Air 3, HomePod Minis, and Apple Watch Series 5, plus I just prefer how iOS handles things in the OS generally better than I did Android. I also really appreciate Apple’s excellent software update support versus Android’s. I can just own an iPhone for much longer and still enjoy using it because it still feels newer with the evolving software.

This was an excellent analysis of the two phones while acknowledging that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To me, if you’re not locked into the Apple ecosystem, I don’t know why you’d choose iPhone. The two major brands continually challenging each other, with ardent fans on both sides, should make them both better in the long run, but I feel Samsung just offers more.
Plus the big notch really ruins the display on iPhone for me (& don’t forget ultra’s display is brighter & supports S-Pen too so it’s kinda hard to deny it’s not superior than the pro max)
I have just experienced 120hz and its hard to go back. People don't really pay it any mind because you can't see it in videos. But when you have it in hand and start scrolling 😎. Some iPhone users for now don't care because they haven't experienced it. But once they do they will definitely see the difference. Apple is always behind when it comes to putting the latest features in their phone. I really wish they would move faster and innovate when making the next iteration of an iPhone instead of only making minor tweaks. It makes them look lazy in my opinion.

If Samsung improved the video quality when recording and brought back the micro SD card slot, I'll be back on board but, at the moment, I won't be upgrading until these issues are resolved. With the emaculate quality of all Samsung technologies across the board, I refuse to believe the video quality on the S21 Ultra is the best they can give us.
They will not do that because people will not get their phones update every year. The deal is to push people to get it update every single year. The open slot is a big deal for me as well. Thats why i will keep my s10 plus for while

What’s the point if iPhone do updates on older phones if your old iPhone is not gonna work as fluid as a new iPhone?! This is probably the last year of upgrades being worth it. Each brand has phones that have such good tech in them that there is no need to upgrade. Like my Xr is 2.5 years old and still kicking it and just as fast as when I first got it. No reason to upgrade besides from a want rather than a need.

dude i got the 21 ultra, and that 120hz screen is amazing. I cannot go back to the 60 hz screen
Bet your battery doesnt last long running it on 120hz though
@@bathams actually because it's and LPTO 120hz display, it can adjust refresh rate per the content you are doing. The ui and software does a great job at maintaining battery life. There are plenty of reviews showing this phone has excellent battery life. I don’t know why I choose Apple over Samsung even if I knew Samsung is ahead of most of the specs. Probably because of the iOS and I am using apple products for more than 10 years.
Once you switch to samsung your going to have a whole different vision on apple. Im saying this because I was also a lifetime iPhone user until I bought the s10 plus my whole view on apple changed.
@@Melvin-ej1vq how I wish I can have both phones for me to check which really is better, that is the only way how I can decide whether to switch or will stay at Apple. I really admire the innovations of Samsung.
@@masalungamark Then do you but for me its better to stay with Samsung because They are going to team up with AMD and they already have better cameras than the 12 pro max. There's many pros than cons If I were to state them all this comment would be an essay, but you do you my advise is to stick with Samsung.
@@Melvin-ej1vq that's really nice, Am Also using the s10plus with the Gcam camera app and is really Amazing. Try Downloading the Gcam app to love it more
Great video Sir. 2 great flagship. I just upgraded to the S21 ultra 5G on Feb 1st from the S9plus and I'm so glad I didn't wait. Samsung really hit this one out of the park this time. Stay safe brother 🙏.
I did the same mate, best decision ever.
@@downundajoe Yes Joe it really was. I was going to wait till my birthday in July but I said oh no just buy it. The S9 Plus was a great phone but this S21 Ultra 5G really changes things.Stay safe brother.
Hopefully, Samsung will make good on its promise to provide 3 years of updates. I'll believe it when I see it though.
I'm here b/c I'm about to do the same. I have an S9 and am wondering if I should switch to iPhone. I think I'm going to stay w/ Samsung & upgrade to S21 Ultra
@@LuxeMindsetVibes What do you like about the iPhone?
Samsung needs to listen to us in regards to Micro SD Card expansion. What were they thinking?
apparently some people think they are the only ones who don't shoot HD vids or photo's. They also would rather pay for cloud storage and data fees each month.
Its really not a big deal I never used mirco sd card or a headphone since 2015. We will all get used to it anyways just like the headphone jack.
@@Melvin-ej1vq actually it is a big deal for alot of people. Who cannot afford cloud storage and huge data plans.
Also, what happens with no reception? No files..that's what.
@@TheHealthLife cloud storage is 5 dollars a month and 30 for a year not a big deal plus most people are fine with 128 gb so its really not a big deal.
@@Melvin-ej1vq 1. Stop thinking about what YOU can afford. Others are not so lucky. 2. Some people want local storuage on the phone, NOT cloud storage...because of phone reception issues and size of files using masses of phone data...which again, costs more money for more data. 3. cloud services are FARR too trusted by people... Dropbox participated in PRISM, a secret government surveillance program, and was also subject to a breach in 2012 when millions of passwords were stolen.
4. It takes 30 seconds to put my SD card in another phone. 5. Android is about choices...something that samsung is forgetting. May as well just go Pixel or 1Plus.
I could go on, but I really wish people would stop putting others in the same box as everyone else.
What about the amazing amount of customizations you can do with the S21 Ultra as opposed to practically no possibility of customizing with the rigid IOS system of Apple?
As I said earlier as well that all the youtubers will choose the Samsung galaxy S21 ultra at the end but you can easily see an Apple watch on their wrist which says a lot and raise some questions. Even if an iphone is their secondary device then why don't they wear a Samsung watch or an android watch?
I agree with that sentiment. If they we're smart they would leave the Apple watch off for the video. I just don't trust any of these guys, they're bought and paid for!
I suggest going to a Best buy or a cell phone store and mess around with it. But I would take what these tech reviewers say with a grain of salt.
The iphone 12 pro max with Apple watch 6 is a perfect combo for me!
Got the same combo in my drawer. The s21 ultra is such a great phone. It's also quite comfortable to hold. Not all sharp and jabby like the iPhone 12 pro max . I'll probably start using it again when the ios 15 beta rolls out.
Same i came from an iPhone 8 Plus and I wanted a upgrade and got the iPhone 12 Pro Max a few days ago and the Apple Watch 6 aswell and I love it sooooo much my bf has the s21 ultra and I’ve played with it and I just can’t seem to want a galaxy phone again haha I can say it’s a gorgeous looking phone but I’m happy with my iPhone 12 Pro Max
After a whole decade with Android, and 8 years with Samsung, it was time for a change. My 12 pro Max and Stainless Graphite Apple Watch were a much needed upgrade from my Note 9 and Galaxy Watch
One line that summarizes pretty much everything you wanted to say: “I hate to say this, but the iPhone....“ you sounded very biased towards Samsung on almost everything Jaime. 🤦🏻♂️
I mean...the phones speaks for themselves well enough. But if you think he was biased, then you should think as well if you are being biased or not.
@@maxxheidrich2842 I’m definitely biased... I’m biased towards processing efficiency’, I’m biased towards security and reliability, I’m definitely biased towards QUALITY. Yes, I’m an engineer with MS in RF wireless communications and I design cellphones for a living. So you’re totally right.
@@Javi_SD That excuse is just way outdated. If it was several years back then yes, I would have agreed. But now? Thats just dumb thinking. And whats the use of being an engineer when you cant even use that brain to scrutinize things properly. Security?Quality? What a joke.

Which phone do you recommend for a youtuber vlogger ? I just got the galaxy s21 5g, great for regular videos but bad on livestreams on youtube! using the 5g setting 30 uhd. Any recommendations?
how is it that in the long run, iphone is better when they slow down their device after a couple years on purpose so people will buy into a new device?
the world trade center looked so nice in the distance.
Therefore, logically the S21U is much better than the iPhone.
iPhone is faster
Samsung got better cameras
iPhone is more durable
iPhone got better OS (in my opinion)
Samsung has better screen quality
iPhone is cheaper
Samsung has more settings
Samsung has better sound
I think both phones are good in their ways. I’m more iPhone person though.
U put iPhone is faster twice
@@-boost- oh, sorry.
Samsung feels faster though with 120hz.
@@Toyeboy89 Yeah. iPhone is stuck with 60HZ.
Definitely not faster but that's your opinion
Despite the cameras being better for zoom on the S21 Ultra, I would still easily go for the iPhone instead just for my love of iOS. I own an iPhone 11 and just love how it works with my iPad Air 3, HomePod Minis, and Apple Watch Series 5, plus I just prefer how iOS handles things in the OS generally better than I did Android. I also really appreciate Apple’s excellent software update support versus Android’s. I can just own an iPhone for much longer and still enjoy using it because it still feels newer with the evolving software.
Call quality comparison? No mention means identical with no Bluetooth or WiFi issues either?
Connectivity has been better on the Samsung phones lately...
I have the S21 Ultra and everyone tells me how amazing my photos look. Now I'm a noob when it comes to taking pictures on a phone and i would love to learn how to max out the quality so if someone could teach me how to work the camera with all the pro settings etc i would be forever grateful
which is where the iphone wins...you point, click, and 99% of the time the photo will look amazing
"Unless you care about 120hz the iPhone is on par on display" what even is that argument?? How can you not care about 120hz?
Also he says "they're both almost as large". As what? What does it mean?
I personally do not care 😂
I don’t. I use a iPad Pro. On a phone, it is a nice to have feature. Unlike a giant iPad or a monitor.
I know it might be hard but can we get some numbers on the Exynos S21 Ultra for us in the UK and other Exynos countries
which should i get i currently have an s9+ ive had for 1 year 3 months still runs good but mabye its time to get a new device which is better love samsung but is the 12 pro max worth the switch to iphone last time i used and iphone was the 5
If Samsung improved the video quality when recording and brought back the micro SD card slot, I'll be back on board but, at the moment, I won't be upgrading until these issues are resolved.
With the emaculate quality of all Samsung technologies across the board, I refuse to believe the video quality on the S21 Ultra is the best they can give us.
They will not do that because people will not get their phones update every year. The deal is to push people to get it update every single year. The open slot is a big deal for me as well. Thats why i will keep my s10 plus for while
I’ve already heard of S21 owners complaining about lag...smh. Have fun, boys
Same lol 😂 I like my iPhone 12 Pro Max so was interesting to watch tho
Lmao
Yikes
Show me where you heard that? I traded a S9 Plus that ran smooth as butter and before that had the 8 Plus that also ran smooth. This 5 year crap about lag is getting old. I also own the boring iPhone for work so no fan boy here but just my experience. So please...where are they saying the Galaxy S21 Ultra has lag?
Typical biased apple user
I can see how others love the Samsung Galaxy 21 Ultra. I love my iPhone 12 Pro.
Fair comment.
Me too !
What’s the point if iPhone do updates on older phones if your old iPhone is not gonna work as fluid as a new iPhone?! My experience is that they do updates, but a lot of the app don’t work very well with older iPhones or it would be very laggy. So to me, the time to get a new phone it should be around the 3rd. Year really close going into the fourth.
@Benjamin Owuye Jagun That’s still a very new phone! I’m talking about older phones, like iPhone 8 Plus and down! 11 it’s still a new phone, even the the XS Max is not that old.
That intro was 🔥🔥. Gave me a real "epic battle about to go down" vibe
When u said "Listening to consumers" I Laughed Out Loud like I was watching Two and a Half Men. BEFORE Charlie Sheen left, NOT when Ashton Kutcher came in. Yeah.
Good pun at the end, obvious but that's the fun part

Removing all context of the statement and making up your own in it's place? Yuck!
One other thing...customization using launchers..you cannot do that with iPhone (without jailbreaking your phone) and that is a significant difference
This is probably the last year of upgrades being worth it. Each brand has phones that have such good tech in them that there is no need to upgrade. Like my Xr is 2.5 years old and still kicking it and just as fast as when I first got it. No reason to upgrade besides from a want rather than a need.
People won't ever stop upgrading because companies won't stop innovating.
I suggest you look up the solid state battery. Capable to be charged at a much higher voltage, use more power, and last longer because it doesn't use a liquid electrolyte.

The pro video at 120 fps then viewable on the 120 adaptive refreshing screen makes the galaxy video way better. Why has no review shown this???
Didnt even know about that feature tbh
maybe because it's not what the 120fps video intended to use. people use the 120fps video to slow it down and make a cinematic b-roll in 60fps
The N20U also had this. It is not something that the average consumer cares about as it is pretty bad in low-light and indoors and probably why it is not available in the manual mode, and that is what most YT creators refer to, not the pro-mode? Nice to have for those that love videography.

Is it just me or does every iPhone photo or video I see have a layer of yellow across it. Every single photo from the Max seems to be too warm and people are calling it natural. Please tell me I am not the only one.
You're not the only one... Noticed it as well. Don't get how it's "natural" but to each their own
Your eyes are not deceived. Crapple yellowfies everything.
Yes, that is how Apple does it and I suspect they have done their research. You can record in RAW finally so it can easily be adjusted in the camera apps in a few seconds, so not important. However, I do prefer it!
