First Descendat struck me as Anthem-without-the-flight. A lot of potential, but hopefully with a company that knows how to realize it.

Really makes you appreciate the level of polish in sound and gameplay that destiny has. We take it for granted sometimes because of the other issues we have with D2, but damn.

So far I’m enjoying the game. P2W can be interpreted multiple ways, as I primarily view it if the game has PvP. Since the game is only PvE, it’s really just pay-to-get-ahead, as nearly everything outside of cosmetics is completely earnable. That being said, the combat feels good, the looter-shooter genre feels good as well, and earning higher grade gear already seems to come easy after spending only a few hours playing it. Yes the AI of the enemies does feel pretty dummed down, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t challenging moments you’ll face. I think the overall mobility within combat feels very good, and while a slower parallel compared to Warframe, it plays pretty smooth so far. Boss fights are pretty fun compared co-op. The game is completely free to play and allows you to formulate your own opinion of it without breaking out your wallet, just like Warframe. Compared to many other great games I’ve played, I’ve experienced very little bugs, outside of the need to optimize my graphics settings as this game is pretty graphics hungry, but mitigable without compromising quality. I’m willing to keep playing and see how the end game feels, but for now solid fun and I’m sure some optimization along the way will only make it better

After playing final shape from D2, characters and dialogue feels very, very awkward and cliche in this game. And mission types are lacked, it usually like this: go somewhere, kill X amount of enemies, collect something or hold X amount of time, then finish. At last, the gunplay is okay, sound quite realistic to me. Payshop? I don't even look at it.
That’s how Destiny started…and how Warframe is. There are only so many things you can do with guns. Destiny distinguished itself by adding mechanics like you see in MMO missions. I imagine this game is starting out basic and then will expand and extend once they get an idea of what players respond to. Which is exactly what Bungie did…though imperfectly.

I don't even think it's fair to call the modding "similar," every single mechanic associated with modding is a 1:1 copy of Warframe. Gear capacity is the same, matching polarities is the same, endo and credits are the same, even FORMA is the same, absolutely zero innovation in that entire system unless something has changed drastically since the beta. Boss fights are cool though, I wish Warframe had more large-scale interactive bosses, the closest it has is probably Exploiter Orb. Boss fights are something TFD actually does *really* well imo
Games pretty fun if you like loot based games and don't mind that it's 3rd person. I'll be playing this till destiny comes back with new content 🤷 people yelling about microtransactions and I've been playing a while and it's hasn't pushed a single one on me idk about endgame tho.

i feel like warframe is far too grindy for cross to play. it wants so, so much of your time, and cross already primarily covers destiny which has its own grind, warframes in addition to that would just be too much i feel
@fallen5983 1) He's popular enough that people will SHOWER him with enough gifts to fly to endgame in record time. 2) The devs have made enough positive changes in early game to remove most annoying roadblocks to progress through very easily with as little trouble as possible. He could absolutely fit it in, see the best parts of the game a few hours a week, be right back on the Destiny grind and not bat an eye.
@aztecross the barrier is from volt in warframe, where he can pick it up and move it around, Bundgie stole the idea. Also volt and teamates can shoot through it
If they add raid bosses and stuff of that nature, it will forsure set itself apart from Warframe (even more as Warframe isnt exactly a looter shooter in the sense you instantly dont get weapon drops/gear drops, Warframe you only get pieces to craft the Weapons/Warframes, where as in TFD you can get drops and parts and gear pieces) Expect big things from them, if they listen to community feedback were gunna be in for a banger.

played all day today. every gauntlet boss i’ve fought has the same weakpoints (shoulders, legs) despite one being a giant crab and another being a huge robot woman. also they spawn the exact same ads. all minibosses/story bosses use the same 2 mechanics (floating orbs or minion spawn) after taking damage. already encountered Greg, the first story boss, 5 times (Enhanced Clone of Greg). bunnys ult doesnt fit her playstyle. the grind just to play the dice over and over again is insane. and im seeing people with 50 dollar characters day 1. and thats not mentioning the character timegate (research mechanic), which also stunts your ability to bring old weapons up to ur level. gaming is in a bubble and it needs to pop
Its different, played about 4 hours today was something new so I kinda liked that. Ran into a looting related bug telling me my inventory was full, kept deleting stuff and it progressively got worse.
It’s a Korean dev, no matter what they do it’ll be a slot machine game going for your money rather than putting out compelling content. As someone who lived in South Korea for 12 years it’s fairly common.

The enemies seem completely brain dead. Most of them don't even react to being shot and walk around like zombies.

Descendants are like warframes, ability system is similar, modding as well. Open areas are like patrol zones from destiny

Boss fights are cool though, I wish Warframe had more large-scale interactive bosses, the closest it has is probably Exploiter Orb. Boss fights are something TFD actually does *really* well imo

While I'm not hoping First Descendant crashes and burns, maybe when content creators complete most/all the content in it, they'll swap over to Warframe since it's very similar in a lot of ways, who knows.
i feel like warframe is far too grindy for cross to play. it wants so, so much of your time, and cross already primarily covers destiny which has its own grind, warframes in addition to that would just be too much i feel
@fallen5983 1) He's popular enough that people will SHOWER him with enough gifts to fly to endgame in record time. 2) The devs have made enough positive changes in early game to remove most annoying roadblocks to progress through very easily with as little trouble as possible.
He could absolutely fit it in, see the best parts of the game a few hours a week, be right back on the Destiny grind and not bat an eye.

If they add raid bosses and stuff of that nature, it will forsure set itself apart from Warframe (even more as Warframe isnt exactly a looter shooter in the sense you instantly dont get weapon drops/gear drops, Warframe you only get pieces to craft the Weapons/Warframes, where as in TFD you can get drops and parts and gear pieces)

Game looks alright. I’m installing right now to see if it can hook me. It just looks kinda generic though. I feel like I’ve seen this type of game a lot only it’s a looter shooter instead of the regular mmo format.

Sorry but I think I'm gonna have to pass on this game lol. I'm starting to see that it takes these "Destiny killers" either outright flopping or not achieving Destiny's standard to make me realize how spoiled we are by Bungie, despite their many blunders and occasional greed.
played all day today. every gauntlet boss i’ve fought has the same weakpoints (shoulders, legs) despite one being a giant crab and another being a huge robot woman. also they spawn the exact same ads. all minibosses/story bosses use the same 2 mechanics (floating orbs or minion spawn) after taking damage. already encountered Greg, the first story boss, 5 times (Enhanced Clone of Greg). bunnys ult doesnt fit her playstyle. the grind just to play the dice over and over again is insane. and im seeing people with 50 dollar characters day 1. and thats not mentioning the character timegate (research mechanic), which also stunts your ability to bring old weapons up to ur level. gaming is in a bubble and it needs to pop

It’s a Korean dev, no matter what they do it’ll be a slot machine game going for your money rather than putting out compelling content. As someone who lived in South Korea for 12 years it’s fairly common.
