As long as I am dressed, yes, my EDC is usually on me. But I also live alone and have guns stashed all over. So even when I take a shower, I am just a short reach to a gun, usually several.👍

@@thegundungeon Actually there is. I’m a plumber by trade. I installed a fairly powerful earth magnet in the wall. So I just stick my gun in a zip lock bag. Mouth of the bag facing down and let the magnet hold it in place. Voila, shower gun. But technically it is not on me.

If I am wearing pants, I am armed. I also have a stash or two or three around the place. Child free house so no worries about that. I am out in the country, so a critter is just as likely as an idiot to be a problem. I am prepared for either.

I put mine on the counter right next to my shower, and lock the door to my bathroom. Plus I have dogs that will bark like crazy if someone even knocks on the door. So I know if anyone is at the house before they step foot inside. Plus they would have to contend with the 3 dogs.

@Steven-gv1ke I'm a paraplegic so mine is always sitting in the back of my chair seat. So it's always with me. In the shower, it's on the other side of the shower curtain. 😉

The LCP Max has become my EDC. It's in my pocket all day long and gets put on the nightstand at bed. Sits right next to the AR15 leaning against the nightstand.
My wife "used" to complain about my gun however...
An attempted assault by a neighbor who was convicted of armed robery and assault with a deadly weapon was turned away out of our yard by the presence of my LCP no longer in my pocket (family barbecue).
Our house had been broken into a couple times and while attending my neighbor's yard sale he noticed my concealed pistol when picking up a clock off the ground. The break-ins stopped (suspected his renter was the culprit).
Another night, 20 or so youths approached my house asking me to open the door so they could "talk*. With 911 on the phone (they asked her if i had a firearm in the house) the conversation was cut short when I informed them I had my weapon pointed at the door, the police were on the phone, and they needed to leave "NOW!". The response was "Yes Sir" and within 60 seconds their 7 cars were loaded and gone. Told the police 15 min later I was upset. I wasn't an officer, I worked for a living (Army).
Used to deliver food for extra money. 2 armed robbiers later and a good friend beaten to death for $20 and his car keys. I don't care if they fire me, I'm carrying. The LCP makes a very small footprint.
The felon killed a man down the road. On death row now.
The neighbor's renter went back to prison for breaking and entering. Gratefully 3 years later my neighbor told him no this time. He's now in prison for... breaking and entering, assault with a deadly weapon (80 yr old woman) and will probably never see the outside again.
Barry's killers were caught 30 miles away in his car when it ran out of gas.
That's why my gun is always with me.

This was over 30+ years in a large city. The new neighbor's son across the road used to sit on a storm drain next to his house and smoke weed. He noticed me taking my AR to the range one day. He asked me later if I had more guns. I informed him I always carried. His parents sold the house and moved. It's actually been pretty quite last few years. 🙂

That’s a lot of reasons to carry. Honestly if that were me I’d carry a rifle at this point lol

Lol. My children want me to sell the house (paid for) and move because they lived thru it too. However prices got so high here that they leveled 3+ acre swamp forest across the road and put in a subdivision of small habitat homes, it caused the homeless encampment to find a new location. When all your neighbors have young children,
pay mortgages, and own their homes, it became a much nicer place.
Love the rambles. Keep up the great work 🙂

I'm retired so I carry most of the time. There are no kids in our home. I have a Glock gen five stuck to a magnet under my desk ready to go bang. I have a glock gen 4 40 cal stuck to a magnet on my bedpost with a towel throwed over it and a 12 guage maverick 88 with no. 4's in the corner of bedroom. The shot gun is loaded but not in the chamber. the trigger is pulled and safety is off. This way gun could set there for 20 yrs and not weaken the spring. I'm not affraid of anything just like guns and like the insurance of having them. I'm not worried about our house burning down but I still have home insurance just in case.

Think I'm with you... LCP Max when around the house (but not as "religiously" as I should). Beyond that, always a quick access by the bed. Like the idea of having quick access lock box by the couch, though suppose it depends on how nosey your guest are ;-)

A good subject. I’m guessing that when you carry at home it’s usually IWB. You didn’t say, but I assume that when you carry the LCP II it’s safely in a pocket holster and not just in your pocket. Often carry OWB at home?
I don’t always carry at home (retired and home all the time). When I do it’s often IWB simply because that’s how I carry when I leave home and want to be consistent. Occasionally it’s OWB. (My son once asked me why I was wearing my gun. I told him, "Because I can." He replied, "Good enough.") One day working out in front of the property (not carrying) a neighbor’s pack of dogs from a few doors down kept aggressively coming at me. (Dogs are allowed to legally run free here.) I go in the house and they go home. I come out of the house and here they come barking and snarling. Repeat. Repeat. I have a suspicion that the AH neighbors were watching out their window and enjoying the show because I finally went into the house and came out with my Glock on my hip. No dogs. They started to come, but mysteriously turned around and returned home. Just a coincidence or did the neighbors see that I had had enough?
You mentioned muscle memory when it comes to where you keep your gun when not carrying. Always keep it in the same place - like your keys or your wallet. (How many times has my son been unable to find his keys and I tell him, “When you take them out of your pocket always put them in the same place.” The next day he can’t find his keys...
One evening my son came home from work for lunch. About 9:30PM he left to go back to work. As he was pulling up to the front gate I heard a single loud gunshot. (People do shoot where I live, but this was not normal.) I wasn’t carrying, but I had a weapon in my hand in seconds and was out the door. (Foolish, but my son was out there.) I scanned the area as my son drove away oblivious. I asked him about it later, but with engine roaring and music blaring he never heard the gunshot. The point being, I wasn’t carrying, but knew exactly where the closest gun was.
I guess the point is whether you carry at home or prefer to keep firearms readily available, do what your comfortable with and being consistent means being prepared.

I should have clarified, when I’m carrying at home and have jeans on its iwb, only time I carry OWB is when hunting or in the woods and even then it’s mostly chest rig. When not wearing jeans and carrying it’s the lcp in a kydex pocket holster with the thumb tab since ball shorts aren’t the best material to rely on for the hook to snag and unholster on the way out.
