    Ok, one more question. Would these alter the way the shoes cast to your feet as you break them in vs using gel insert such as an ouch pouch?

    • @PerfectFitPointe
      @PerfectFitPointe  8 лет назад +9

      Your pointe shoes will still break in as normal! And because the inserts are flexible, they will be able to flex as the shoe breaks in (i.e., the crown flattens). While a pointe shoe will really only mold to your foot where the box is quite thin (higher up the vamp and around the wings), the inserts will mold to your foot from your metatarsals down to your toes.

    Curious to know if these would fit mainstream heels. My foot is tiny and my heels are usually 1 size too large. Filling in the toe box without jamming my toes sounds like the perfect solution.

    • @BobbyTheDogUSA
      @BobbyTheDogUSA 5 лет назад

      Try layering lambswool (found in drug stores) with a wedge makeup sponge or two in each shoe's toebox (sandwich style with sponge in the middle). The lambswool will mold to your toes. Use that along with shoe insoles to fill up the space. Also, wearing Mary Jane shoes will help you stay in the shoe. Hope this helps.

    • @PerfectFitPointe
      @PerfectFitPointe  7 лет назад +11

      Yes, you can definitely continue to wear the PerfectFit inserts in multiple pairs of shoes, as long as the size/style are the same. If you change shoe size or style, it's probably best to remold. You can find more answers to questions like this one at: perfectfitpointe.com/faqs/

    • @VicvicW
      @VicvicW 7 лет назад +8

      Spagettii Angel
      I am no ballet dancer, but I would imagine a remould would only be nessecary with a change of brand or size.
      These seem to be marketed at dancers who already know their point shoes and what they like pretty well.

    • @PerfectFitPointe
      @PerfectFitPointe  6 лет назад

      You shouldn't need to powder your finished inserts -- after you mold them, they'll be good to go, and you can wear them again and again!

    so the toe spacer stays inside the mold forever?

    • @PerfectFitPointe
      @PerfectFitPointe  7 лет назад +26

      Yes, the spacer stays integrated in your molded PerfectFit inserts for as long as you're wearing them. At the time you decide to retire your pair of inserts, you may remove the spacer from the insert by making a slit in the purple spacer sleeve if you would like to reuse them in your next pair.

    I have two questions. Will this help prevent compressed toenails? And what do I do if I still feel pain at my pressure points?

    • @PerfectFitPointe
      @PerfectFitPointe  8 лет назад +4

      Have you been able to experiment with different styles of pointe shoes, as well? A well-fitted shoe can go a long way in reducing pressure points, and the better fit you start with in the pointe shoe itself, the better.
      Yes, the PerfectFit inserts are designed to basically adapt your foot to fit whatever shoe you’re wearing, and because the putty flows under your shorter toes, it evens out weight distribution and greatly reduces the chance of bruised toenails on your longest toe. This will greatly help in reducing pressure points, but if you still feel pain on the tip of your longest toe, you could try putting a thin gel layer in the platform of the shoe (like a cut-up piece of an Ouch Pouch, or something similar).

      When you articulate your foot and toes as the material sets, it spreads and moves the material. That way, it doesn't feel like a cast of your toes, but a flexible blend of positions that feels comfortable whether on demi, on pointe, or anywhere in between :)

    I have really wide tapered toes with the big toe being the longest. I just ordered these because I’m fed up with the amount of pain I get at the outer corner of my big toe where the nail ends. It usually stings so bad that it feels like I’m either get poke with a needle or dancing on knifes. The pain is the same as stubbing my toe accept it doesn’t go away because I have to stay up en pointe and roll through. My question is since I get so much pain in that area would I mold the insert the same way that someone with a long second toe would?

    Do you have to do one foot then the other or can you do them both at the same time??

    • @PerfectFitPointe
      @PerfectFitPointe  7 лет назад +12

      We highly recommend that you do one foot at a time because of the importance of timing. When you mold them one at a time, you have more control and focus over the result, and the moldable material will be nice and fluid when you first put it on your foot so it can flow where it needs to go and escape when needed. You only have to do the molding process once, though, and then you'll be set! :)

    Hey probably a really dumb question but are the inserts soft and squeezable or completely hard?

    • @PerfectFitPointe
      @PerfectFitPointe  7 лет назад +4

      Good question! I'd say they're a little bit in between... they are definitely firm, not super soft and jelly-like, since their main function is to act as a fitting solution, not as padding. That's how they provide support and make the shoe responsive to your foot. That said, although they are firm, they are definitely flexible... more like the consistency of a rubber ball. Hope that helps!

    Would these only fit the pair of point shoes you mold it with or multiple pairs?

    • @PerfectFitPointe
      @PerfectFitPointe  7 лет назад +2

      The inserts provide a highly customized fit inside the pair of pointe shoes they're molded in. Typically we would recommend molding a new pair for a new size or style of shoe unless they are quite similar to the ones the inserts were molded in. You can definitely transfer them from pair to pair of shoes in a consistent size/style!

      The PerfectFit inserts should negate the need to wear gel toe caps over your big toe, but technically you can mold any non-porous gel accessories into the inserts, and they will pop in/out. Hope this helps!

    Amazing! As an adult dancer re-starting pointe, I found myself buying new shoes every 3 months. I bought GMs and love them (1yr 1 pair anniversary in June, ha), but now find myself eating through toe tips (like monthly now). Could this is be the answer!? I don't need a toe spacer but was fitted with Bunheads The Big Tip; would I have to wear that with the mold?

    • @PerfectFitPointe
      @PerfectFitPointe  8 лет назад

      +nevroth Congrats on re-starting pointe as an adult! The PerfectFit inserts should eliminate the need for all other padding accessories in the shoe (minus spacers, which can be molded into the inserts as desired/needed). They were designed to naturally and proactively provide support under your longest toe by filling space underneath your shorter toes. So yes, no more Big Tips!

    Hi. I am having a fairly bad problem with my point shoes. The problem is that my big toe is much longer than my other toes. Causing the big toe being the only toe at the end of the point shoe.Do you think this product would fix my problem?

    • @PerfectFitPointe

      Yes, I think the PerfectFit inserts could definitely help your problem! That's essentially what they are designed to do -- make the the shoe fit your foot perfectly, and provide more even weight distribution over all your toes. They will fill up whatever space is under your shorter toes!

    +PerfectFit Pointe, I was just wondering, did you need to remold another insert every time i buy a new pair of pointe shoes ? and because i need toe spaces, do i need to buy new spaces every time i have new molded inserts or can my spaces come out of the mold ? Thank you

    • @PerfectFitPointe
      @PerfectFitPointe  8 лет назад +3

      +Keisha Lau You don't need to remold the inserts every time you buy a new pair of pointe shoes, so long as the size/style/make of your shoe is the same (or quite similar). The success of the design comes from the fact that the insert molds precisely to the shape/position of the foot inside the shoe, and both of those factors would change if you switched to a different shoe size/style. But the inserts are definitely removable, so you can transfer them to a new pair when your old shoes wear out! :) The spacers become permanently encased in the insert once molded, but it would technically be possible to slit the little purple fabric sleeve and pull them out. The turquoise moldable material doesn't adhere to silicon, only porous materials like the fabric. Hope this helps! They are quite durable! It depends on how much you're dancing of course, but we've had professionals wear a single pair for a full season (5-6 months) of fulltime wear, everyday, almost every day!

    Hello! I have a significantly longer second toe and I typically have to put a gel cushion under my big toe to keep my second toe from bending up and bruising. Would I put this into the toe pads like with the spacers in the video? I'm worried that without it my toes would curl up and ruin the toe pad. Thank you so much!

    • @PerfectFitPointe
      @PerfectFitPointe  8 лет назад +1

      You have a couple options here... you could certainly mold in the gel cushion you currently use under your big toe! Another option would be to delay going on to full weight-bearing pointe for the first few minutes... see the question about how to mold the inserts with longer 2nd toes in our FAQ section! :) perfectfitpointe.com/faqs/ (scroll about halfway down the page)

    What happens when your feet grow or you get a new pair of shoes?

    • @PerfectFitPointe
      @PerfectFitPointe  8 лет назад +2

      The inserts are certainly transferrable from one pair of pointe shoes to the next, but if you dramatically change shoe brands or styles (ex: from a more tapered shoe to a more square shoe) then we definitely recommend molding a new pair. Similarly, as your feet grow, the same inserts should work for awhile, but eventually you'll want to re-mold. Once you get a new pair of shoes, we'd recommend trying your existing pair of PerfectFit inserts in there and see how they feel. If they're sitting a bit funny, probably a sign to make a new pair, but they might still feel great :) Hope that helps!

    • @PerfectFitPointe

      You wear the inserts directly against your skin, and your tights over your inserts :) (That's where convertible tights come in handy!)

    • @m.z606
      @m.z606 5 лет назад +1

  • @choirkitty
    @choirkitty 8 лет назад +2

    Very dumb question....if these are molded to your toes....how does the dancer go about wearing her tights in the shoes? The tights don't fit around the toes like gloves on fingers....does she have to adapt her tights to accommodate the mold? Like I said - dumb question. But my curiosity got the best of me :)

    • @justsaying4115
      @justsaying4115 8 лет назад

      Do you mean like put the tights on then make the mould? A lot of dancers tend to put their toe pads on and then put their tights on (most have a hole on the sole so you can pull the tip on and off your foot) the day put their foot in the shoe. I hope this makes sense

    • @PerfectFitPointe
      @PerfectFitPointe  8 лет назад +5

      +choirkitty No such thing as a dumb question! :) Yes, you're right, since the inserts are molded precisely to the contours of your toes, you wear your tights over the inserts. In general, it's fairly common for dancers to wear their tights over their toe pad, as it helps to hold it them in place, and is easy enough to do with convertible tights.

    • @choirkitty
      @choirkitty 8 лет назад

      Thank you now that makes sense!!! Lol!!!! For as many ballet videos I watch and how much I like ballet you'd think I would have known that! :)

    • @PerfectFitPointe
      @PerfectFitPointe  8 лет назад +2

      +Passion Pie You mold the inserts with bare feet (no tights) so they contour exactly to your toes. Once they are set, you can put them on your foot and then fold your tights over the top as normal for class.

    • @PerfectFitPointe

    Soo you need the pointe shoes to make the toe pads but you need the toe pads to size the shoes??

    • @PerfectFitPointe
      @PerfectFitPointe  6 лет назад

      No, your inserts will adapt to fill the space in your shoe, so you don't need molded inserts to size your shoe. We recommend that you get your pointe shoes fitted while wearing a thin gel pad or sock (or nothing at all), and then once you have your ribbons and elastic sewn on, mold your inserts. :)

    For those of us who currently have no padding in our shoes would PerfectFit Pointe work or would a refitting with padding be necessary?

    • @PerfectFitPointe
      @PerfectFitPointe  6 лет назад

      You would not need to refit your shoes (assuming you're happy with the current fit of your shoes). The molding material would adapt to fit the available spaces in your shoe. We would recommend using probably only 1/2 of the jars of provided silicone material since the volume of your inserts will be much less than a dancer already wearing a toe pad in your shoe. Feel free to email us at info@perfectfitpointe.com if you have any more questions!

    Would it still work the same?

    • @PerfectFitPointe
      @PerfectFitPointe  7 лет назад

      Great question! Yes, we recommend re-molding a new set of inserts if your shoe brand or size changes significantly since they are fitted precisely to your foot inside a certain shoe. So we advise waiting to mold your inserts if you're experimenting with many different pointe shoes!
