Lesson #1 never ever get on the bad side of anyone who is involved in the process of making your shoes!!! You be nice as pie to everyone and anyone with the company, shoe mistress at your company, everyone that has a hand with your shoes! Don't learn this lesson the hard way! Be nice and considerate and always tell them how much you appreciate all the hard work!!
this is about the 3rd video or so of the making of shoes and I have to say the factory is the cleanest and organized. the shoes also higher end to me. well done Russia.
I have huge appreciation for the skill required for handmade pointe shoes.. But this documentary makes it sound as if no one else does it anymore.. Freed?!
@Catherine Vervenne-glew LOL i can’t believe someone replied 7 years later. i’m not a ballet dancer anymore, but i wore grishko’s for the rest of my career! definitely try them out, especially if you’ve got tapered feet !
Grishko brand are my favorite brand! they fit my feet like a glove! Its like the Russian people know ballet shoes! There slogan should say, " From Russia with love"!
I love how hard grishkos are. Before my hard shank freed of London’s lasted ONE day. I didn’t bend them, only did releves to break them in. And my hard Russian pointe rubins would last 2 weeks.
I totally love my Grishko's, which I got as my secong pair after my capezio's died, but in Czech republic these aren't called Grishkovky, but špičkovky from the czech word špička - tip.
Thank you so so much! :) I got my first pair yesterday, and they fit like a glove! They look amazing and I don't want to take them off, let alone take my eyes off them! :)
Quetzalcoatl Topiltzin The Maya II is built on the Vaganova last but the sole is machine stitched instead of glued by hand. I think Maya I is built on the Fouette last but this I don’t know for sure.
does anyone else feel complete satisfaction when you hear pointe shoes thumping in unison and nice practice tutus flopping slightly when you echappe?
you should never hear your pointe shoes
MsPrincess0019 when they aren't broken yet they can be noisy.
Yes 100%

Erin S. How about you just be nice to everyone?
Joni Mitchell called this "Giving to get something" in a song.
Most interesting fact learned here: deafness is a valuable characteristic in a Grishko pointe shoe cobbler! So cool!
It's incredible to see how pointe shoes are made. They're such a work of art. :)

The music at 8:31 and 15:59 is from Ponchieli's "Dance of the Hours."
Thank you so so much! :) I got my first pair yesterday, and they fit like a glove! They look amazing and I don't want to take them off, let alone take my eyes off them! :)

Daria khokhlova😍😍😍😍

I know I was like and what makes it not edible exactly and I would never want to lick my pointe shoe?
The chair looks like a Minecraft scaffolding
Pointe ruined my feet. Maybe I should have had these.
The students from the Bolshoi Ballet Academy are wearing so nice looking leotards.
Так интересно!!👍
Where do you buy the leotards the students are wearing?!?

I owe a hammer just like that. My dad used it when repairing shoes. No pointes, but regular shoes. 😳
I love so much Fouette and Vaganova models. It rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why did you discontinue it?!!!
Quetzalcoatl Topiltzin The Maya II is built on the Vaganova last but the sole is machine stitched instead of glued by hand. I think Maya I is built on the Fouette last but this I don’t know for sure.
