These are great vacuums if you take care of them. These are like 90's US Hoover Elite. Plastic is a bit brittle, but other than that they are fantastic carpet cleaners. Most young people only know Sharks and Dysons. They are missing a lot. For 450 watts these are powerful because airpath is super simple with low resistance and direct air motor. I am not surprised why people love your videos. Your presentation is always entertaining and clear👍👍

Yes! These older direct air Hoover vacuums were amazing, if only they had the build quality of a Sebo I would use this as my main vacuum cleaner because it works so well! The beater bars on the activator make such a huge difference too! Imagine if a Kirby had them 😮
A Kirby probably cleans carpets a little better though due to the higher airflow

Is it just me? Or does every Kirby vacuum have this exact same..smell and even if your a pet owner it still has that smell, is it just me?-
Is it the smell of the twisted drive belt? Hoover juniors and seniors always had "that" smell about them.
Oh my god awesome video, so nice to see one of these devour a mess like that, my mum went through so many of these, she bought one almost every 6 months after they came out, think we had almost every model including the obscure and random coloured ones, copes with the hair from German shepherds better than anything else at the time, they were used 5/6 times a day, the motors were strong but it was the body that mum always broke ( I may have had a hand in that myself as well, can neither confirm nor deny ) had my U2332 for donkey years and still going strong, the last generation of these bugged me though. The lack of the headlight always kinda made it look a bit goofy, the turbo juniors carried off the look quite well without a headlight but the has hardbox models always look a bit strange,

Probably left nothing behind. These are dirty-fan cleaners, so with a new bag fitted the airflow is pretty much like new (no filters to clog etc). Added to which, the bristles on the brush roller were as stiff as nails, and didn't wear down easily, and the roller had beaters too.
These cleaners ran from 1983 until the early 2000s in various forms, and although they were massively popular by virtue of the fact they were Hoover cleaners and nothing else, the cleaning performance was off the scale, even if the filtration and build quality left a little to be desired.
I could watch this for hours. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤Funny vac but it's soo good!
These were great deep cleaners, but what let them down was the fact that they only have 1 layer of filtration. Even the old Hoover Junior 1346 had 2 layers - ie, the paper bag, and the cloth outer bag, That paper bag bursts when you are using the vacuum, you can imagine the dust cloud that would blow out of the bag housing. There was no fail safe outer bag on these original Turbopowers, and for a 1983 design, reallly they should have had, when you consider the Electrolux 500 series, launched over 10 years before the TP1 had the paper bag, plus a felt filter, plus a second filter cage before the air went through the motor and back out into the room.
Apart from the lack of filtration, as long as the bag remained intact , yes, these vacuums would do some serious dirt extraction.
That machine was a late late model though, 13 years after the TP1 first launched, and by that time it was only a year before the Purepower launched, so very bargain basement for people who wanted a really cheap vacuum.
Impressive big mess test - it did well to gobble that massive mound of fluff without jamming the fan. Many many present day vacuums would not have coped with such a big mess.

To answer your question, the yellow thing is a step down voltage converter so I can use 120V vacuums 😄

Me too! Oooh I would love to! My Junior needs a new belt, I put a new one on and it snapped within 2 minutes of vacuuming! I think it’s difficult to find good belts now 😭 but when I do I will definitely try it out! 😋👍🏽
