- Another Hooverette model 2944 vacuum cleaner joins the collection. I’m not sure of the production date of this model, but I believe it’s a first generation machine dating from the early 60s.

Hi Roger I’ve been binge, watching your channel for weeks now and I saw you just uploaded this video and I put it on and omg I love that hoover. I’ve always wanted a vintage hoover and that one is just beautiful so as soon as I watched this video I went on eBay and bought one I got very lucky with my one as apparently it has the original box but there was no pictures of it so I’ll have to wait and see how it arrives. Thank you for showing this Fabulous vacuum.
Jetsons-chic!
7:29 Based on how much wear the hose and brush has compared to the pristine floor nozzle, and the presence of the little Hoover belt included, as well as the cut up Junior bag, I can make the presumption that the previous owner had a full sized upright, and had this Hooverette solely as a hand vac to go around and do the above-floor cleaning with just like the woman in the illustration.
Beautiful machine
Wow great find. I never gave these stick vacs much attention because.....well....its a stick vac. But this one looks like it has good performance. I usually only pick them up when they are really cheap, or I am desperate for vacuums. lol
Thunderbirds😂it's lovely ❤
There were two green versions, the swedish green and smoked pine version was the second version.
I think youd be right on the date for that being early 60s. Going by the brochure that came with it, it shows a very first generation Keymatic washing machine - I think its the 3224 as it doesnt have the circular progress indicator, and that was made between 1961 and 1964. Depending on how out of date the brochure was at the time it was packaged with the vacuum cleaner, I think it would be a reasonable assumption to make that the Hooverette dated to around the 1962 - 1965 sort of time period. It was definitely before 1967 as it does not use the modern date code identifier in the serial number which Hoovers had from 1967 onwards.
Yes the Keymatic is the 3224, it had a two tone cabinet. We had the 3226 which had an all white cabinet. My dad worked for Hoover from 1957 to 1988 and he got it from the staff shop.
Hi Roger love your Hooverettte yes it is missing the Rubber flap I'm looking for one myself love the colour 👍 🥂 David
“A handbag?” Ha ha. I remember that line from AYBS?
Yes, it was the episode when Mr Humphries dragged up and pretended to be a customer. “A handbag” originates from The Importance Of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde.
Reminds me of a 'jet engine' in shape
Has fame turned Daisy's head ?
Not seen her for a while.
Wondering if she's got herself an agent and jumped ship
Daisy charges an appearance fee now.
Serial number being 60266 - could it be 66th off the line in February 1966?
"Using it as a fashion accessory" ... 🙂
