I’m a supervisor, I have benefits and I’m paid hourly. I would never except a salary job unless my pay was significantly more than my pay with overtime.
Man corporations are refusing to pay overtime and making employees take late entry the next day. Being punitive.
Well then just don’t stay no company can force you to work OT and also it’s not OT if your coming in late the next day
If it happens, some companies will probably start telling people they can't work overtime and will fire them if they do.
which is great. don't need to work more for less.
they will prob put bigger demands on workers during the 9-5 hours
Truck drivers always work 70 hours .... 30 NOT OVERTIME!
Love getting paid salary, usually don’t work even 40 hours a week and I get a lot of freedom with my job. Even though I just graduated last year and starting out in my career, I couldn’t be happier. There are rare occasions i have to work Saturday or just some last minute shi but it’s rare and usually nothing too demanding so even if I’m not getting paid overtime, it balances out and I’m happy regardless. Just wanted to share my experience as of now
Really? What career are you working in?

This will probably lead to less benefits companies are all about profits
teachers need this desperatly!
And Amazon too! Amazon warehouses are harder than teachers lazy

No
There is no way salaried people get OT unless it goes through a long process that directly impacts budgets that have already been planned at the beginning of the year and cannot go over. Most employers care about getting work done no matter how long it takes but within the budget, HR will just keep 8-5 and no exceptions for outside that but to get the work done it needs more that 8-5.
I would never do salary job. The employer abuses it and I seen it so many times where they doing 15 hour days.
@@ca60453 it’s really unfortunate and the laws don’t capture this abuse because the “Company HR” is there to show that you were not abused in actuality trying to mute the employees whistleblowing.
That means their bonuses will come down or go away.
Those companies will still have to compete for employees. They take away those benefits at their own peril. Just do the right thing and pay employees for the hours they work. And we’ve already got higher prices and inflation- at least this time some of the money might actually go to a wage earner.
?: we cut off 10% our employee to balance out overtime cost
Or hire another employee, so they don’t have to work the overtime.
Salaried employees already make more than hourly employees with better benefits as well. They should be focusing more on the hourly employees since they are the ones breaking their backs everyday to get the work done.
This guy is a terrible interviewer!!!! He is interrupting constantly!
Like the red shoes!
This is a long time waiting.
Now make OVERTIME PAY not be taxable income.
I guess just work your life away
That’s how life works

More money just means paying more income tax
I mean, you’ll still be making more money than before though.
Then it wouldn’t be fair the lower pay that make 20-30 an hour. People gonna go on strike for even more pay oof
Not California taxpayers vessels no bs about our and your lots 💬🤔 about it

It's over reach, the government is so poorly run it has no business trying to tell the private sector how to do anything. Let businesses pay employees what they are worth and the best businesses will have the best employees.
Get your life together
Right wingers and corporate lackeys always say the same. If you dare give a worker an extra break the world will come falling down. It won't and it hasn't. Time for Americans to join a union and stop being so afraid of your bosses who need you to make their huge profits. Have some pride.
Unions=layoffs
Unions are for the stupid workers
