Met this legend twice. He couldn't have been friendlier and more approachable. Saw him one of those times at Sandcastle in NJ for the battle of the legends with Sigel. I walked in while he was informally warming up. He stopped what he was doing and came over to me & my kid and made a big deal over such a young kid being interested in pool. My son ate it up. True gentleman.
No matter what anyone says we still love ya Earl...!!! You are definitely one of the greatest ever to play the game and everyone should be delighted to watch you play....!! Thank you very much for still being active in the game..... im alot like you on how i feel about the perfection of the game but not even a tad close to your ability....
Just listening to him as he plays is a free lesson in how to make it easy for yourself when playing shots. Makes it look effortless and that’s when he’s played for over 50yrs Imagine how good he was when pool wasn’t on the tv
Wow. Thanks. Great vid. 480 ..respect. Is he the all around goat? In the conversation, for sure. He is the best pure shot maker that ever lived. Will say that. Earl was criticized by 14.1 snobs but he beat most of their heros. Now we see the mind of Earl. Navigating racks with ease and precision. And he racks his own balls. Humble man. Not dissapointed. Love Earl. My pool hero.
Been playing UK/EU, American 8 ball, 9 ball and snooker for 30 years, I've never once played straight pool in my life... but I'm going to next time I go to the club! I actually only checked out this video because a computer game I play (Cue Club 2, amazing game btw!) is currently working on adding straight pool to the game and wanted to brush up on the rules and principles before they release it. This video got me so hyped I'm gonna try it out on a British sized table in our local club to see how it plays and I'll 100% be playing it on the American tables next time I go to the club near my dad's house.
@@BilliardSportsNetwork Gave it a go today with the missus. Great fun but really tough on a British table, certainly a lot harder than Earl makes it look!
Great shooting Earl. I started shooting at 6 years old standing on an orange crate with a sawed off cue my granddad fashioned. That was in 1950. I've loved playing all my life! Straight Pool is a lot harder than it looks!
God made Earl to play pool. He truly is a paragon of this great sport. I wish there were more straight pool tournaments around. I think Earl would really shine. I’d also love to see him in the up and coming Ultimate Pool events. Let’s make it happen, Matchroom/Predator. Love ya, Earl. ❤
Earl loves the game for the game it should be. An enjoyable game! It’s the people and politics that ruin the joy from just the game itself. TY for over 30yrs of great pool Earl ❤
Earl Strickland, the only professional pool player I’ve ever traveled to watch him play in person. Not only is he one of the worlds top pool players, he is one hell of a good guy! One of a handful of pro players you could hold a real conversation with about anything on the planet. Plus he has some of the best “stories” out there!
Hello Pool people! Is straight pool a 9 ft table game? There are only 8 ft tables where I live and I struggle playing straight pool specially when trying to break, I end up with a lot of clusters
I saw him get into the 200s pretty easy while I was there. I wonder what he could do with more focus on it bc we were 100% focused on filming other content for our new interviews. I didn't film this session, only did a salvage edit for viewing.
"This table is weird", "That ball skidded", "The balls are dirty". It took Earl 120+ balls to justify his misses but he never fails to come through with his old reliable excuses. Lol!
I think Earl is a psychological wonder to the world. I feel like he is a great example of vibe and energy dictating your performance. We see Earl get angry sometimes and outburst, but that’s really him creating his own energy that he knows he can feed off of. It’s very interesting.
On this table. He plays on a ten footer with 4 inch pockets. Even with 4.5 pockets straight is a much harder game than 9&8 ball. Put together multiple racks.
you had my attention until you said earl was the player of the decade. all my living decades go to efren. for those who arent aware efren reyes. in the future keep it honest.

Fantastic. I fell in love with 14.1 about 15 years ago. Not enough people play it. It definitely improved my game by leaps and bounds.
Glad to hear it it had the exact same effect on our game to

He admits Efren is the greatest
Guy is an absolute genius with the white. Love how he never messes about when the balls are there to be knocked in. Beast

I've learned so much just understanding what you're doing while you shoot. Thank you watching this has helped my straightpool game.
Exactly what he wanted to happen! Another person loving straight pool!

Never tried straight pool (always 8 ball sometimes 9) but sure gonna try it soon 👍🏻
Highly recommend recommended, Earl obviously influence me to add straight pool into my repertoire on a regular, and it seriously has helped my game.
@@BilliardSportsNetwork i will try it soon 👍🏻
Uploaded three days ago but looks like he uploaded 30 years ago. Earl, let me shoot your videos!
It was indeed filmed on a potato. This footage is from Earls previous media team :P
Enjoyed the display Earl!

Earl please !!!,! Give us a placement pool video! I’ve been asking for 3years!!!!!
If he had it his way its the only thing we woulda filmed 🤣

Its def a better game on 9ft however it depends on what you are training for.
Did you guys just completely rip off the video from Earl's channel?
Moved it.

Very few are more entertaining
What’s with the break I’ve never seen that before
Good, it's now added to your game :)
Scottish accent: YOU CALLED THE 2😐

The key to good straight pool: big pockets
😒
I think you misspelled ‘deep’ pockets 🤣
That's kind of the bummer thing about straight pool even practicing. Oh, yeah! Doing good! Ball doesn't drop....start over, I guess.
Hey. Does anyone have the timestamp where he whines and complains about opponents getting lucky that I could jump to?
😂🤣, gotem
Earls Game is so Fast and Effortless
Stop or roll 😂

This guy has a luck of personality, clearly. When he wins he’s a proud man, when he loses, it’s someone or something’s else fault.

Earl has the Biden squinty eye thing. Is it some fancy drug or something? Trump does it too. Turning Japanese?
