Jasmine, I'm a big fan and watch all of your videos. You're explanations and demonstrations are always top notch, but this particular videos was probably one of the best. Between showing very good camera angles that demonstrated how much the follow bends the path of the cue ball to how much an incremental adjustment of your tips position can change the path as well. I KNOW these things myself and have played the game for a long time, but seeing it demonstrated so nicely really makes an impact. Can watch your stroke and follow thru all day.
Seen a million pool videos, but this one addressed follow and roll in a way I’ve never seen done before. Definitely on my list of must-sees for other players. More unique vids like this, Jasmine. I like all your stuff, but this was top notch.
When i opend this video i didnt exepect is gonna be that helpful.. i was playing for long time and yet.. this is the first time i know why i was putting my self in bad postion because the follow and roll.. tahnks alot jasmin
Love your vids. ❤ One little comment on this one: When you were showing kicks, starting with a rolling cb, you said follow shortens it up. I believe this only because you hit it much harder. Follow actually opens the angle (slightly) on kicks. As you showed backspin shortens it up even more, and that is true, but that actually means the follow opens it up. Canter ball would be in middle, between the two, at firm pace. A softer kick, played with max high action, would help to open the angle, as long as the cb still had some rotation after contacting the rail. Of course sidespin adds a whole different element to kicks, but we are just talking about the vertical axis. 😁
I was going to ask about that as well. Why does the force follow shot on the cueball shorten the line off the bank, but when she uses draw to get the object ball to bank with follow, it makes it go long?
@@CueKefner I was only talking about the "Kick" portion of her vid. When you are banking balls, it's the opposite however. Playing low on cb will slightly widen the angle, while playing high will slightly narrow the angle. (as the opposite spin is imparted to the object ball) But for kicks, top will slightly open up the angle. Backspin narrows it. The only reason her kick narrow with top because of the weight of the shot, as opposed to her slow roll.
@@BigAlsBilliardsIt seemed weird to me when I watched the video that the object ball with follow would go long on the bank, but the cue ball with follow went short. I thought they should react the same, or similar at least. The speed of the cue ball shortening the angle on the kickshot makes sense to me.
Thank you Jasmin for all the time and energy you put into your training videos. I enjoy them very much and you make the lessons simple. And you’re a joy to watch. 😊
It's so refreshing to see someone actually talking about the art of pool. Never stop learning the possibilities and capabilities of your game. This video alone will help someone step up their game. I'm assuming a draw shot is coming soon.
Jasmine thank you so much for doing this video. You’re like a personal coach cause I have learned so much from your videos. I now have some practicing to do so I can put this knowledge to use.
Never in my life did I ever think there could be such an amazing instructor for playing pool that was so extremely beautiful. Absolutely the perfect lady!
Wow, this video is richly packed with information. I'm probably gonna watch portions 30 times and it will (honestly) take me months to assimilate. I shoot pool 2 times a week with a dozen old timers who collectively have about 700 years of experience versus me: 6 years. I surprise them once in a while with what I have learned from you, Jasmin. Thank you from Oregon.
Thanks for the video 🎉. Great job 🎉. Always make it easy to understand. I'll be working on putting this into my game 🎉. I look forward to seeing more of your incredible videos.
Hi From canada Just like to thank you for your tips and lessons I like the way you explain and if I don't understand it's simply that my game is not advanced enough to comprehend I try to get all you put online very helpful. thanks again and good luck to you and your brother in your 2024 tournaments
U have a very special ability to make your videos funny and educational at the same time 😍 and your knowledge is amazing keep it up and I wish u the best Jasmin
Wish I'd have proper training when I started! These kids today don't realize how lucky they have it being blessed to use internet! If I was a millionaire I'd fly over from states and train at your school
A really like that target you put on the table to gauge your shape. And, I really like that stroke trainer you showcased in another video, but I can't find these nice accessories in the USA. I did find that stroke trainer on a Euro website, but they wanted $100.00 shipping for a $20.00 product!
When you were demonstrating the effect of rolling versus force following a kick shot, isn't the increased power of the force follow shot the main determining factor that shortens up the angle?
The pros usually play on tables with new cloth. And all of those fancy looking shots are easier. When you play on old cloth the balls act quite different. The same principles apply though.
hello @jasmin, thanks a lot for many useful video. I have a very specific question I hope you can help me out. I would like to buy a table for practice at home however my space is limited. Do you know if I can train with smaller table instead of 9ft table ? Does it reduce the effective of the training when in tournament ? Thanks a lot. Tuan Do
Isn't the angle difference (going short or long) in your kick and back examples more due to the speed rather than whatever follow/draw you put on the cueball?
I have a question. When you're rolling, you're then showing the difference in a force follow, you're hitting the cue much harder than when following. Isn't that speed alone also affecting the path of those kick shoots as much if not more than the top English?
The ball came short for the kick shot not because of the follow through but because you hit the ball harder and with increased speed, the ball will come shorter
My biggest problem is having to adapt to a new or different table. It takes such a long time. All of the spins are different, the speed is different, and the rails are different. I would love to know a way how to warm up before a tournament to have a better feel for the table when you have only a few minutes to practice. What sort of shots to practice.
I think you forgot a very important point: the distance from the cue ball to the object ball. This can dramatically change the required elevation on the cue ball in order to get the same result. Otherwise, an excellent video.
a lot of the ideas comes from Tom, he came up with some of these ff shots, I see walking dog here for example, pls give credit where credit is due, Tom is the gifted one here..
I thought follow widens the angle off the rail, but you demonstrated this is not the case. I'm surprised about this and am going to be trying this next time at the table.
You are correct. She gets it wrong in this video. It is the greater speed that shortens the angle. Almost every single pro, and even most amateurs know this, so I'm surprised that she is just completely wrong in her explanation here.
@@Chris-te7uk I think maybe we were misunderstanding what she meant. While follow does widen the the departure angle from a rail, she's talking about the approach angle. Force follow bends forward of the tangent line after hitting an object ball, causing the cue ball to hit the rail at a more acute ("straightened") angle. This can more than make up for the widening aspect we're thinking of.
@@lonniebiz No...there's no misunderstanding. She gets it wrong. Actually...she gets a lot wrong, I just didn't want to pick her completely apart, but in reality there is very little she gets right. She simply doesn't understand the effects she is trying to describe.
Maximum follow is actually just a rolling cue ball for any given cue ball speed. You can't physically make the cue ball spin faster than it is moving forward to any significant degree until it hits an object ball. The difference between a "force follow" and a normal follow is either a) the normal follow has not yet achieved natural roll or b) the force follow was hit harder.
Gifted teacher and shooter. Plain and simple.

Came here to say exactly this. She is one of my favourites but you are dead right on the banking, it only shortened because of speed

Hello, awesome video as always! Are you using a 12.9 Revo shaft now? Thanks
Great lesson thank you , get a case or something for all your trophies 🏆 😊
Nice work, thanks.
You were right about the 14 balls! If you're potting a ball to break the rest up, there are at most 14 balls you're breaking up :)
Thank you Jasmin!
Thank you for great content!
Thanks, Coach! Imma share this with my team...something for us to work on.

Where can I find the bullseye sheet that you use for cueball placement drills?

Apologies for being off topic but what size pockets do you have on your practice table?
@jasminouschanbilliards where did you get that cloth target?
good stuff ,
Jasmine should give some of her fun energy to Albin 😂😂😂

Where can i get a training target thing like that at to use on the pool table?
Wow. Coincidence that's what I'm working on today
God knows 😂
