  • Three Euro-2000 games were played in Charleroi's Stade du Pays de Charleroi. England VS Germany probably was the most intense game, in which 30.000 spectators saw Alan Shearer score the 1-0. Since then, the stadium has changed drastically: two tiers of the three-tier Tribune 3 stand were torn down. But one piece of football history found a surprising new home.

Leuke video! Jammer dat ze het stadium van Charleroi terug hebben afgebroken, ik vond het echt een mooi stadium. Belgische toestanden :(. De rode duivels hadden er nu nog kunnen spelen.

I remember the commentator saying the stand would be removed after the tournament and I found it hard to believe. I'd never heard anything like that before. But seeing how 2014 and 2022 world cup stadiums are not being maintained, it was sound reasoning.

Heerlijk. Misschien wel de beste video tot nu toe.

What a shame that this unique and very steep stadium was changed. It was special. It was a great ground.

Normal clubs expand and renovate stadiums. Here they tore down the renovated parts from EURO 2000. What a waste of tax-payer money.
