Needlelace Made Easy Part 2 Laying the Outline or Cordonnet

This is part 2 of a series of videos on how easy it is to make needlelace. In this video I show you how to lay the outline threads, this is called the cordonnet.

I am so glad I found these videos, thank you for sharing them. I want to make needle lace leaves to add to my baskets as adornments. I’ve only seen them inside rings, this freeform style will work much better.

I love how the cordonnet is laid here. It eliminates doing the double pricking on the sides and the problem of sharp plastic from the contact paper on the surface. Using this method, I prick a few holes ahead and just feel for the holes at the back when I come up to avoid the problem of sharp plastic on top of the work.
