  • This is part 2 of a series of videos on how easy it is to make needlelace. In this video I show you how to lay the outline threads, this is called the cordonnet.

    What a great instruction video on needle lace. Loved when you said add a little more for luck then double it when sewing around the circle.

    I am so glad I found these videos, thank you for sharing them. I want to make needle lace leaves to add to my baskets as adornments. I’ve only seen them inside rings, this freeform style will work much better.

    I love how the cordonnet is laid here. It eliminates doing the double pricking on the sides and the problem of sharp plastic from the contact paper on the surface. Using this method, I prick a few holes ahead and just feel for the holes at the back when I come up to avoid the problem of sharp plastic on top of the work.
