- In this video I demonstrate how to begin working needlelace cloth stitch, technically a detached buttonhole stitch with a returning thread. Use this thread for parts of the design that needs to appear the most "solid" or "dense": foreground motifs, highlights, bigger shapes in filigree fillings. I also explain the principles behind working short rows using this stitch which results in a filling with rows that follow the contours of the shape.
Wonderful work, love it.
Very interesting. I always work towards myself and was taught to use a frame for good tension. I am going to try your way- away from me and in my hands. My frame did not produce good results.
