- I have had the absolute pleasure of rescoring this fantastic short film courtesy of Blender Animation Studio. A huge thank you to them for distributing this film under the Creative Commons copyright, allowing composers like myself to create their own music perspective for the film.
Spring is the story of a shepherd girl and her dog, who face ancient spirits in order to continue the cycle of life. This poetic and visually stunning short film was written and directed by Andy Goralczyk, inspired by his childhood in the mountains of Germany.

Some of the shorts I come across on RUclips make me wonder how these people aren't working with Disney, or DreamWorks, or creating something even bigger. The quality is amazing. Better than most animated movies honestly.

Blender is a non-profit software developer, responsible for the free and open source program used to produce this short, in fact it is their own in-house studio that produced it, as they have a number of other animated shorts, that pretty much act as demo reels showcasing major updates, over the past 16 years. Their most recent short film was in fact directed by a story artist and animator from Pixar, whose career stretches all the way back to the original Toy Story when the studio only had a dozen animators.
So they're designed to show off what anybody can do, but it's not necessarily "anybody" who makes them.
Moral of the story :- fearless mind can make everything beautiful💕

Spring really is magic with the plants and flowers coming 'alive' after the long 'sleep' of winter.

@J P actually, I am legally blind, but I use these things called glasses, that help me see almost 100%... I could see the animation perfectly fine, thank you very much! "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder", after all. Have you ever tried being something other than pestemistic? It makes life so much easier. 😌

I love the whole thing, but my favorite has to be all the organic sounds, esp. the chimes all strung together like a spine.
Features human and domestic animal against a backdrop of majestic nature, with mysterious wildlife, all working together in harmony for an untold number of years... Love it.
It still blows my mind how they could do this in blender. Well done! 😭👍🏻

How.... how would such a ceremony have ever started? I'm trying to imagine the first few years, probably at the end of the last ice age where early man realized winter's harsh unendingness was caused by such creatures and figured out how to pacify them and semi-control them with the sounds that droppings from their feelers created... how do they make a new stick when the old is worn out or cracked from banging on that "gong" and hitting the ground? How does she know which ones to knock on?
