I bought one based on your reviews of it. I had to send the first one back the day I received it because of black specs inside by crosshairs and the vertical locking turret cap didn't 'click' down into the locked position, had to use more force than should be required to push down but never 'clicked'. Just got my replacement today and this one the vertical lock cap doesn't click/snap down either, the horizontal does nicely. This is a different scope from my original because no black specs inside. Couldn't tell from your video because scope was out of frame but does your vertical lock snap down?

Sorry to hear that I got one of the first production runs as I had pre ordered mine. But my locking elevation does seem to take some force when locking and unlocking the turret.

I bought the athlon helos gen1 6-24x50 for my fast twist 25-06AI almost 3 years ago and I love it!
Bought a Vortex strike eagle 5x25x56 34mm for a 300prc about 2 years ago, and I'm far from impressed with the quality of ANY/EVERY part of the optic that the shooter would touch. Every knob is sticky at 90°f and needs channel-loks to turn at 40°f.
Just bought another Helos BTR gen2 2-12x42 for a 6.5 Grendel in a Howa mini chassis as a "truck gun" and it's perfect!
A $500 athlon beats a $900 Vortex hands down in my experience.

Awesome to hear! Don’t get me wrong I love my vortex products but to me for the price I was not enthused as much with the strike Eagle for the price point.

@@theaveragereloader7222 exactly! The strike eagle should be a 400-500 dollar optic based off the way it functions. I traded the strike eagle off and replaced it with a Valdada and thats like going from driving a school bus to driving an F16

Have you had a chance to get out and mess around with the scope since you uploaded this video? Are you pleased with it so far?

I just actually shot a match with it today and being on my back up rifle still trying to get the gun figured out as of now I think it’s awesome!

Will have an update video on it within a week or so when I get the gun lined out. I think it’s a better option than the strike Eagle at this time due to the turrets feeling, sounding, and performing better
