Okay, I love TK's and Kari's teams XD The picks really work well for him. Ralts does fit well for Patamon and Salamon (thinking backwards to them as regular trainers).
I REALLY like (all of them but) Matt’s especially. I didn’t think I would like him being electric until I saw the Pokémon you picked for him. I immediately went with Dark type in my mind because my love for WereGarurumon is infinite. I also think Kari would have Grimmsnarl on her team…because I could see her being the one to find that cutesy vibe in that Pokémon line. And Indeedee (specifically female) for that caretaker vibe. And I really like the thought of Mimi having a Lilligant (Hisuiam form but the og form works as well). But the rest of these were so spot on it’s practically almost impossible to hold an argument. These are amazing, even though I’m practically new to your channel, I can’t wait to see more.
This was an awesome video! Here are some of my ideas with each of them having a full team of six! Tai: Fire Type Charizard, Turtinator, Magmortar, Cinderace, Arcanine (Hisui form), Flareon Matt: cool design Type ((he definitely was the most challenging. Pokemon needs more bestial ice types)) Lycanroc (midnight form), Luxray, Hisuian Zoroark, Weavile, Alolan Ninetails Sora-Flying Talonflame, Braviary, Swanna, Pidgeot (Mega), Swoobat, Hawlucha Izzy: Bug Orbeetle, Heracross, Kleavor, Vikavolt, Centiskorch, Leavanny Mimi- Grass Type ((adjacent)) Bellossom, Roserade, Tsareena, Florges, Lurantis, Hisuian Lilligant Joe- Water/Ice Type. To me the water emphasis of the Gomamon line and the crest of reliability (especially when wielded by Joe) leant itself to cold water specifically Walrein, Avalugg, Mamoswine, Samurott, Wishiwashi, Lapras TK- Psychic Espeon, Gallade, Galarian Rapidash, Malamar, Alolan Raichu, Claydol (sorry Karn) Kari- Fairy Sylveon, Gardevoir, Grimmsnarl, Mr. Mime, Togekiss, Mega Altaria
Personally I think Tsareena makes slightly more sense as Mimi's ace and would be a closer match with Rosemon Or swap out Carnevine as it doesn't really fit her at all I feel you gave Matt the wrong Toxicity tbh, he should have the blue one
Boltound and Manetric might fit Garurumon's taxonomy more than Luxray, but I feel Luxray fits Matt better overall in terms of vibe and personality (not just because I'm a luxray lover XD)
This is a great crossover video with lots of great picks! However one that I disagree with is for Joe having Primarina to reference Gommamon. I personally think Dewgong would’ve been better. It even looks like him with the same face. Love the video though! Great job! I also grew up loving both and never thinking of which was better. Both series have their strong points and should be respected as separate things rather than clones of themselves. Which they are 100% not. Also it would be cool if their badges were in the shape of their crests too!
I'm a former Pokemon fan (as soon as Digimon showed up it was easy for me to pick a side😅) and this has blown me away! I think I stopped watching Pokemon somewhere along the Johto season. So I stayed way behind and I don't recognize many of these pocket monsters xD But this has been fun to watch, for sure. Sora has to be my favorite and I think picking electric for Matt is a great option. I also like what you guys did with T.K. and Kari having those pokemon referencing their angel digimons. I appreciate that detail. Great work guys👏👏👏
Well made video with some good choices. Funny enough, if you factor in the extra main Digidestined between 02 and Tri (Davis, Yolei, Cody, Ken, and Meiko), you'd have enough characters to fill in an entire Pokemon League up to the Champion's seat. You even have Kari and Tai with signature Champion Pokemon (Diantha's Gardevoir and Leon's Charizard).
I understand a lot of these however I have a much different idea for Matt. Hear me out, dark type because he was always that brooding stuck to himself and not letting those he's closest to in on the personal problems he has. (I know that's a lot to decipher from a character on a children's show but still). Plus dark typing doesn't just mean bad or evil, look at umbreon for instance. And yes umbreon would be his ace in my opinion, matching his me against the world style being so defensive and evolving at high FRIENDSHIP at night referencing weregarurumon. His other pokemon being scrafty to match his punkness and the fact that it looks like its wearing pants references gabumons fur. The other one would be bisharp for born metalgarurumon and omnimon. All in all I really enjoyed this video more than I thought I would. Excellent job!
i came from Karn and also edited his video over there and was so excited to see how this video turned out and i was not dissapointed!! cant wait to see more!!❤
I would have made Matt a Dark type trainer with options like Houndoom, Umbreon, and Absol. I think those fit the vibe of a wolf much better, especially since wolves are known for prowling in the night, as well as how Houndoom breathes fire (I always imagined Garurumon's attack was blue fire) and how Abdol has white fur. Possibly Mightyena as another option.
you are indeed on the money with garurumon's - and, in fact, gabumon's - special move being fire-based. their original names are fox fire and petit fire, the former of which is specifically described as high-temperature yes, the wolf digimon attacks with the fire of a fox. mind, that actually plays into the fact that garurumon and fox fire _do_ tend to be ice-based in more than a few video games, as it's less literally a fox's fire and more a reference to how kitsune ( among other yokai ) often have the ability to create illusory blue fire that may or may not burn cold. so while the original intent was probably just to reference the attack's blue color scheme, it ends up being a pretty solid justification for digimon media to differentiate agumon and gabumon by making them different elements it does not, however, really justify why petit fire is _hand-to-hand type in next order what_
I think a good alternative for Matt could be rock type. He could have Lycanrock midday and midnight forms as well as Hisuian Arcanine. It would also fit with Matt's rock and roll aesthetic
Joe's team just worked out perfectly didn't it? XD True he got two starters but there are enough seal pokemon to make it work. If anything, we could have swapped in Lapras for maybe Primarina.
the virgin fandom wars vs the chad enjoyer of both pokemon and digimon. i've always been more of a pokemon fan personally, but digimon has always held a special place in my heart. so happy to see both collaborations.
Came over here after seeing KarnEX's video and have to admit that I loved both videos and would love to see you do this again some time! I loved how KarnEX described Ash at the end of this video to be honest...and yeah, Matt would be the hardest to create a set team for...but would Darkness work for him as well? Matt was the one who went into his inner darkness the most times during season one and there are also a lot of dog/wolf like Pokemon that would be good for this aesthetic, the Houndour/Houndoom line , Poochyena/Mightyena line and either Absol or Sneasel as his Ace Pokemon. Curious as to hearing what you guys think of this to be honest.
For Matt, I would put the following pokemon for his line up; - Alolan Vulpix / Nine-tails due to the Ice typing (along with being Fairy type) the closest reference to Gabumon / Garurumon I can think of. - Rioulo / Lucario / Mega Lucario (as a reference to WereGarurumon's stature and perhaps fighting style regardless of being not an Ice type.) - Electrike / Manectric / Mega Manectric (a reference to Metal Garurumon but aside from both being quadrupedal, they both have Mega Forms 😅😅😅.) - I would like to include Arcanine to this line up because Matt used to ride Garurumon just like how Ramona's Arcanine were ridden in the anime but the Fire Typing is too much of a stretch. - Too bad Pokemon Umbra is just a fan-made Pokemon game. If it is officially included, I would put Seijitsu / Kousetsu / Mangetsu (Dark and Ice type, a close reference for Gabumon / Garurumon up to WereGarurumon.) in the line up as it perfectly compliments Matt's personality making it his ace pokemon.
Awesome video, always love seeing new interesting Digimon content in my recommended! I'm very excited to see what you come up with for the other seasons. Great picks throughout :D
I’ve always thought that WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon would make excellent box legendaries. Both look super OP the fire and ice opposing one another could tell an intriguing and deep story. Give em Fire/Steel and Ice/Steel typings
Matt: ice type Weavile referencing Gabumon in type, dark typing referring to gabumon's fake hide (hiding his true look gives dark vibes) Galarian Darmanitan referencing the garurumon line often having both fire and ice moves and also referring to Weregarurumon Alolan Ninetales to refer to Garurumon itself being an ice canine
That was a good job with a difficult task. The only nitpick I would really make is that Gabumon/Garurumon attack using fire, not ice. He lights fires using it and the attacks themselves are called petit fire/fox fire in the original japanese. So you could go with Arcanine, Houndoom to reference Gabumon/Garurumon and Incineroar to reference Weregarurumon - if you wanted to stick to one type, But I also do get why you wouldn't want to repeat the fire type for the sake of the video!
Damn! This is awesome! I like both but since I only watched the anime, I grew to love Digimon more because I found it more compelling. But I still love Pokemon.
Although Tyrantrum is Dragon/Rock, I do feel sad that is not a member of Tai's team. Not giving him the giant T-rex seems like a missed opportunity (plus Turantrum can learn Fire Fang, could be the 'weird' ace in Tai's team)
I'm fine with all of this mostly. Most of them make sense. There are more options/better options if we envision them as league champions rather than gym leaders though. This way we are not locked into a single type. Like, for Matt, I could see him having a Lycanroc (midnight form) as that would parallel Wargarurumon REALLY well. I could see Matt with an Alolan Ninetales too. A fox is a little bit closer to a wolf than a cat is and the ice part meshes well with Gabumon's ice attack I suppose. Why not give Joe a Caracosta? A literal upright turtle that would parallel uh.... whatever its name was again. lol But yeah, its all cool either way.
If you do season 2 with Ken, I think it'd be cool to give him two teams: 1 dark when he's the big bad trying to take over the world, and one bug when he's just doing his best to move on.
I could definitely see TK being a fighting type gym leader! Fighting type along with Fairy Type are the two types that are super effective against the dark type.
Great concept! Pokémon was always the best franchise in terms of games / cards etc but I think the Digimon anime smashes Pokémon. Digimon the movie is legendary.
Tailmon's evolutionary line makes total sense if you stop taking into account only appearance, after all, all forms represented in their evolutions are portrayed deities
Great video. However, I think some better choices for Joe, Kari, and Matt would be: - Joe- 1. Walrein (Ikkakumon) 2. Samurott (elements of Gomamon with Zudomon) 3. Blastoise (Vikemon has two mases sticking out over its' shoulders like Blastoise's cannons and Zudomon has a turtle like shell) Kari- 1. Gardevoir (Angewomon) 2. Sylveon (Gatomon) 3. Mega Audino (a reference to Silphymon, the DNA digivolved Gatomon and Aquilamon) Matt- 1. Toxtricity (like you guys said, because Matt was in a rock band) 2. Electivire (has the stripes like Garurumon and is a bipedal beast that can use special punching moves like Weregarurumon) 3. Manectric (like alot of people mentioned, the lightning dog/wolf like Metal Garurumon)
I agree with Tai - Fire Sora - Flying Mimi - Grass Joe - Water And I understand why TK and Kari were given their perspective types since they both are difficult to place. But Matt’s evolutionary line is better fitting to an Ice type. Most of its evolutionary line Digimon have ice themed attacks and it’s meant to be a parallel between Tai and Matt’s rivalry. Fire vs Ice. I understand why you chose Bug for Izzy, but all of Tentomon’s main evolutionary Digimon have electric based attacks. Super Shocker, Electro Shocker, Horn Buster.
For Matt you actually would have been able to get away with Steel type gym leader. Alolan Sandslash would be the perfect Gabumon both in color scheme and with ice attacks. Lucario/Mega Lucario works with Weregarurumon who is basically a fighting digimon Metagross is the closest thing to Metalgarurumon Finally, and this ones a stretch, but you can kind of have either Bisharp or Aegislash represent Omnimon
I'm surprised you guys didn't go with Manetric as Matt's ace as both it and Garurumon are wolves. Though I honestly would have went with Dark typing myself, as like Matt they tend to be misunderstood. The first Pokemon I would give him is: - Pangoro, a Pokémon that represents the power of friendship since it can only evolve when it's on a team with another Dark type. - Weavile as both a reference to the ice attacks that the Gabumon line use, as well as being close-ish to scale of what I would imagine uncloaked Gabumon being like -And his Ace would be Absol, a Pokémon that tries to warn people of on-coming dangers like a Big Brother would, but is also representative of how good Dark types can be even if they're a bit standoffish. It also is a canine like Garurumon.
I agree with everything on this list except the last one. I feel like he should have been Dark type instead of Electric. This could be his team: Houndoom -Dog -shiny is blue -also bit stripey -gains an "armor" with its mega evo like Metal Garurumon -Gabumon uses "Petit Fire" and Garurumon uses "Fox Fire" -Gabumon line also has black versions -skull/bone theme matches with the image on Were Garurumons pants and the spiked parts -non shiny gives Cres Garurumon vibes on its design -the most memorable Houndoom in the anime took care of Misty's Togepi Zoroark -Caninish creature -shiny is close enough -hides itself with illusions like Gabumon hides itself under that thing its wearing -very close to Were Garurumon -protective about its own kind -Hisuian form existed long ago like the Gabumon was a heroic Digimon in the past -the black versions again Absol -another caninish creature -blue and white colouring like Gabumon line mostly is -gains wings with mega evo like Metal Garurumon -warns people but misunderstood -bit of a loner -Sagittarius mode vibes too And lastly the only Dark type gym leader thus far is Piers, who also likes music and is very fond of his own sister. Plus he seems to be pulled by other people into danger (helps the MC to reach Leon and Rose) believes that he can do things on his own (tries to get Spikemuth, his home town more popularity.) A bit laid back and genuinely cares a lot about others. (Has friends of all kind somehow.)
There's a number of Pokemon that have eerily similar Digimon counterparts. I would actually love to see a video on this, or perhaps someone use a team themed around this. Examples are: Ninetales - Reppamon Scyther - Snimon Grimer/Muk - Numemon Klink - Hagurumon Trevenant - Cherrymon Pumpkaboo/Gourgeist - Pumpkinmon Mamoswine - Mammothmon Wailord - Whamon I also think Veemon is Digimon's Eevee being the rival mascot of Agumon (Their Pikachu) and having so many different evolution paths, even back as early as season 2.
I think for Matt, you should have done Boltund, Manetric, Arctizolt, and Toxitricity. Referencing his music, the beast type evolutions, and the reptile and Ice with Arctizolt.
Another reason I think Toxtricity works well for Matt imo: The fact that Toxtricity seems to have been designed in a way that invokes punk (specifically punk rock) actually kinda works well with WereGarurumon's aesthetic, which I always saw as being at least somewhat punk influenced as well.
Today, I started brainstorming what the 02 digi-destined would be like as pokemon gymleaders. So far, all I could come up with was Davis being dragon-type with a salamence as his main (as a nod towards Exveemon and Imperialdramon), and Cody being ground or rock-type.
Themes for 02 Davis-Dragon, obviously, Ken- our former Digimon emperor Darkness, Cody-Fighting(because of Kendo) or Ground, Yolei- possibly another Flying gym. Tamers- Takato- Since Guilmon is a virus type- perhaps Poison, if not I’ll say fire, Henry-Terriermon is a bunny so perhaps Normal, Rika-perhaps Psychic. Feel free to take my suggestions or not.
Here's some ideas for the 02 Digidestined. Davis- Dragon Type 1. Salamence (a blue Dragon with wings like ExVeemon) 2. Turtonator (for Flamedramon) 3. Dracozolt (kind of a stand-in for Raidramon) Ken- Poison Type (Izzy has bug type and poison hints at evil/dark side of the Digimon Emperor) 1. Scolipede (like an overgrown Wormmon) 2. Beedrill (reference to Stingmon, especially its' Mega Form) 3. Naganadel (keeps the stinger motif and it's a dragon to reference Paildramon, Stingmon's DNA Digivolution with ExVeemon) Cody- Ground Type 1. Sandslash (Armadillomon) 2. Excadrill (Digmon, especially with the drill claws) 3. Whiscash (kind of a stand-in for Submarimon) Yolei- Fighting Type (Sora has flying type and fighting points to Yolei's extroverted nature) 1. Hawlucha (literally Hawkmon) 2. Blaziken (looks like a bipedal Halsemon, even up to the white wings jotting out from its' head) 3. Hitmonlee (reference to Shurimon, stretchy limbs and all)

Lycanroc (midnight form), Luxray, Hisuian Zoroark, Weavile, Alolan Ninetails
Sora-Flying
Talonflame, Braviary, Swanna, Pidgeot (Mega), Swoobat, Hawlucha
Izzy: Bug
Orbeetle, Heracross, Kleavor, Vikavolt, Centiskorch, Leavanny
Mimi- Grass Type ((adjacent))
Bellossom, Roserade, Tsareena, Florges, Lurantis, Hisuian Lilligant
Joe- Water/Ice Type. To me the water emphasis of the Gomamon line and the crest of reliability (especially when wielded by Joe) leant itself to cold water specifically
Walrein, Avalugg, Mamoswine, Samurott, Wishiwashi, Lapras
TK- Psychic
Espeon, Gallade, Galarian Rapidash, Malamar, Alolan Raichu, Claydol (sorry Karn)
Kari- Fairy
Sylveon, Gardevoir, Grimmsnarl, Mr. Mime, Togekiss, Mega Altaria
Watching both of your videos on this really made me happy being apart of both fandoms
I'd change Joe's Primarina for a Lapras.
Water/Ice, still references Plesiomon, but avoids including two water starters in his team.
100% in this! Especially since they used his digimon the ferry them across water so much!
Or seel as a starter and or dewgong to represent gomamon i think those fit more than a too feminine primarina for Jow
Yeah I agree I would love to see you guys do generation 2 Digimon trainers like Davis Cody, Yoleii, Ken,and maybe even do Willis
YES, digimon is so good and this video will be amazing and I am like you, I like both
This is so iconic! I love them both so much
I immediately knew Gallade and Gardevoir would be used for TK and Kari
As someone who used to be a Pokemon fan, this was really fun! I would love to see what you and Kam EX could up with the Tamers from others seasons.
Personally I think Tsareena makes slightly more sense as Mimi's ace and would be a closer match with Rosemon
Or swap out Carnevine as it doesn't really fit her at all
I feel you gave Matt the wrong Toxicity tbh, he should have the blue one
Does Matt play a bass guitar?
I feel like Hisuian Lilligant would be the best ace for Mimi
Boltound and Manetric might fit Garurumon's taxonomy more than Luxray, but I feel Luxray fits Matt better overall in terms of vibe and personality (not just because I'm a luxray lover XD)
FINALLY! The crossover I've been waiting for ever since middle school!
Same
The urge to rewatch digimon instead of finishing my Pokémon rewatch is definitely there
I always interpreted the Crest of Hope as being a stylized image of a sun rising over a mountain.
Same I always thought of it as the sun
Yooooo amazing video! I love both pokemon and digimon and seeing this kind of collab is great! Also seeing you 2 collab like this was so entertaining
I came on here to say the same thing lol. Dewgong most definitely suits Joe over Primarina.
That and the boring design of Dewgong works with Joes boring personality
fav youtubers doing a vid together? yes please
Very awesome! Love both Karn and you! The selections seemed to be given alot of thought! Very nicely done!
“Matt plays electric guitar”
eternal pain and bassist erasure
Well made video with some good choices.
Funny enough, if you factor in the extra main Digidestined between 02 and Tri (Davis, Yolei, Cody, Ken, and Meiko), you'd have enough characters to fill in an entire Pokemon League up to the Champion's seat. You even have Kari and Tai with signature Champion Pokemon (Diantha's Gardevoir and Leon's Charizard).
Both Pokemon and Digimon are awesome in their own way and these 2 videos are a perfect proof of that
Omg I completely forgot about this great part of my childhood
Matt could’ve been a Fighting type trainer and his ace could’ve been a lucario
Possibly Mightyena as another option.
you are indeed on the money with garurumon's - and, in fact, gabumon's - special move being fire-based. their original names are fox fire and petit fire, the former of which is specifically described as high-temperature
yes, the wolf digimon attacks with the fire of a fox. mind, that actually plays into the fact that garurumon and fox fire _do_ tend to be ice-based in more than a few video games, as it's less literally a fox's fire and more a reference to how kitsune ( among other yokai ) often have the ability to create illusory blue fire that may or may not burn cold. so while the original intent was probably just to reference the attack's blue color scheme, it ends up being a pretty solid justification for digimon media to differentiate agumon and gabumon by making them different elements
it does not, however, really justify why petit fire is _hand-to-hand type in next order what_
I think a good alternative for Matt could be rock type. He could have Lycanrock midday and midnight forms as well as Hisuian Arcanine. It would also fit with Matt's rock and roll aesthetic
This was a great video I think you did a perfect job
Joe's team just worked out perfectly didn't it? XD True he got two starters but there are enough seal pokemon to make it work. If anything, we could have swapped in Lapras for maybe Primarina.
Love pokemon and digimon and I watch both yours and Karn's videos a lot. It was really cool to see you guys collab.
the virgin fandom wars vs the chad enjoyer of both pokemon and digimon.
i've always been more of a pokemon fan personally, but digimon has always held a special place in my heart.
so happy to see both collaborations.
That is also a great option! Thanks for the feedback!
For Matt, I would put the following pokemon for his line up;
- Alolan Vulpix / Nine-tails due to the Ice typing (along with being Fairy type) the closest reference to Gabumon / Garurumon I can think of.
- Rioulo / Lucario / Mega Lucario (as a reference to WereGarurumon's stature and perhaps fighting style regardless of being not an Ice type.)
- Electrike / Manectric / Mega Manectric (a reference to Metal Garurumon but aside from both being quadrupedal, they both have Mega Forms 😅😅😅.)
- I would like to include Arcanine to this line up because Matt used to ride Garurumon just like how Ramona's Arcanine were ridden in the anime but the Fire Typing is too much of a stretch.
Blue Blaster is blue fire though so the fire typing isn't a stretch.
@@chazdellwalker6912 I suppose so.
If Matt had been dark type, you could have used mightyena and absol.
Matt is a cool guy but he has an electric personality 😉....great video 🤗
Awesome video, always love seeing new interesting Digimon content in my recommended! I'm very excited to see what you come up with for the other seasons. Great picks throughout :D
Honestly a pretty good list! I’ve thought about this before ngl and i always thought Matt would have a Riolu or Lucario
Great video guys I hope you do another collaboration for the other seasons
I’ve always thought that WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon would make excellent box legendaries. Both look super OP the fire and ice opposing one another could tell an intriguing and deep story. Give em Fire/Steel and Ice/Steel typings
I LOOOOOOVVVE THIS! Always loved the two franchises as a kid and even now as an adult! This is a really cool concept!
I've always wanted this... thanks karn ex for showing me a cool new poketuber
Super happy to have you!
Matt: ice type
Weavile referencing Gabumon in type, dark typing referring to gabumon's fake hide (hiding his true look gives dark vibes)
Galarian Darmanitan referencing the garurumon line often having both fire and ice moves and also referring to Weregarurumon
Alolan Ninetales to refer to Garurumon itself being an ice canine
alot of good choice with fitting reason and estetics. for joe i think lapras would have also worked well but maybe too much ice XD
Yea, Ice was another consideration for his Leader type but Water ultimately fit better.
@@PragMagik Lapras would have been such a good counterpart to Plesiomon though
That was a good job with a difficult task. The only nitpick I would really make is that Gabumon/Garurumon attack using fire, not ice. He lights fires using it and the attacks themselves are called petit fire/fox fire in the original japanese. So you could go with Arcanine, Houndoom to reference Gabumon/Garurumon and Incineroar to reference Weregarurumon - if you wanted to stick to one type,
But I also do get why you wouldn't want to repeat the fire type for the sake of the video!
Damn! This is awesome! I like both but since I only watched the anime, I grew to love Digimon more because I found it more compelling. But I still love Pokemon.
6:53 the funny part is that there's a joke about gomamon acting like a wife to Jou lol
Y’all need to do the other digi destined from 02 and tamers !!!
6:24 Go to the battle tower after you get few wins
You’ll see just that
I knew SOMEONE would be that guy 😂
Just came from karn’s. Really like this vid too
Although Tyrantrum is Dragon/Rock, I do feel sad that is not a member of Tai's team. Not giving him the giant T-rex seems like a missed opportunity (plus Turantrum can learn Fire Fang, could be the 'weird' ace in Tai's team)
I subscribe just for this video. I'm excited to watch more videos from you!
A literal upright turtle that would parallel uh.... whatever its name was again. lol
But yeah, its all cool either way.
I happen to stumble upon this video while scrolling thru RUclips, and I would just like to say that I'm a huge fan of both franchise. :D
Haha when u said taser face I had that scene pop into my head seconds b4 u showed it
If you do season 2 with Ken, I think it'd be cool to give him two teams: 1 dark when he's the big bad trying to take over the world, and one bug when he's just doing his best to move on.
I always loved both Pokemon and Digimon. Pokemon a little more, but Digimon always places a special place in my heart.
Tailmon's evolutionary line makes total sense if you stop taking into account only appearance, after all, all forms represented in their evolutions are portrayed deities
This was a solid vid, don’t really watch digimon anymore, but y’all made this super interesting and kept me till the end
I am a big fan of both franchises thank you for doing this crossover
Great video. However, I think some better choices for Joe, Kari, and Matt would be: -
Joe-
1. Walrein (Ikkakumon)
2. Samurott (elements of Gomamon with Zudomon)
3. Blastoise (Vikemon has two mases sticking out over its' shoulders like Blastoise's cannons and Zudomon has a turtle like shell)
Kari-
1. Gardevoir (Angewomon)
2. Sylveon (Gatomon)
3. Mega Audino (a reference to Silphymon, the DNA digivolved Gatomon and Aquilamon)
Matt-
1. Toxtricity (like you guys said, because Matt was in a rock band)
2. Electivire (has the stripes like Garurumon and is a bipedal beast that can use special punching moves like Weregarurumon)
3. Manectric (like alot of people mentioned, the lightning dog/wolf like Metal Garurumon)
Izzy's team is pretty awesome too. And he got some of the best bug types to work with.
I agree with
Tai - Fire
Sora - Flying
Mimi - Grass
Joe - Water
And I understand why TK and Kari were given their perspective types since they both are difficult to place.
Lucario/Mega Lucario works with Weregarurumon who is basically a fighting digimon
Metagross is the closest thing to Metalgarurumon
Finally, and this ones a stretch, but you can kind of have either Bisharp or Aegislash represent Omnimon
Should’ve done lilligant for Mimi’s ace.
I'm surprised you guys didn't go with Manetric as Matt's ace as both it and Garurumon are wolves.
Though I honestly would have went with Dark typing myself, as like Matt they tend to be misunderstood.
The first Pokemon I would give him is:
- Pangoro, a Pokémon that represents the power of friendship since it can only evolve when it's on a team with another Dark type.
- Weavile as both a reference to the ice attacks that the Gabumon line use, as well as being close-ish to scale of what I would imagine uncloaked Gabumon being like
-And his Ace would be Absol, a Pokémon that tries to warn people of on-coming dangers like a Big Brother would, but is also representative of how good Dark types can be even if they're a bit standoffish. It also is a canine like Garurumon.
I agree with everything on this list except the last one. I feel like he should have been Dark type instead of Electric. This could be his team:
Houndoom
-Dog
-shiny is blue
-also bit stripey
-gains an "armor" with its mega evo like Metal Garurumon
-Gabumon uses "Petit Fire" and Garurumon uses "Fox Fire"
-Gabumon line also has black versions
-skull/bone theme matches with the image on Were Garurumons pants and the spiked parts
-non shiny gives Cres Garurumon vibes on its design
-the most memorable Houndoom in the anime took care of Misty's Togepi
Zoroark
-Caninish creature
-shiny is close enough
-hides itself with illusions like Gabumon hides itself under that thing its wearing
-very close to Were Garurumon
-protective about its own kind
-Hisuian form existed long ago like the Gabumon was a heroic Digimon in the past
-the black versions again
Absol
-another caninish creature
-blue and white colouring like Gabumon line mostly is
-gains wings with mega evo like Metal Garurumon
-warns people but misunderstood
-bit of a loner
-Sagittarius mode vibes too
And lastly the only Dark type gym leader thus far is Piers, who also likes music and is very fond of his own sister. Plus he seems to be pulled by other people into danger (helps the MC to reach Leon and Rose) believes that he can do things on his own (tries to get Spikemuth, his home town more popularity.) A bit laid back and genuinely cares a lot about others. (Has friends of all kind somehow.)
Thank you they are both amazing franchises
I think Boltund would be a great member of Matt’s team. Other than that, I think you guys nailed every single team. Great job!
Karn and Prag are the best digipokemon youtubers (combining pokemon and digimon)
There's a number of Pokemon that have eerily similar Digimon counterparts.
I would actually love to see a video on this, or perhaps someone use a team themed around this.
Examples are:
Ninetales - Reppamon
Scyther - Snimon
Grimer/Muk - Numemon
Klink - Hagurumon
Trevenant - Cherrymon
Pumpkaboo/Gourgeist - Pumpkinmon
Mamoswine - Mammothmon
Wailord - Whamon
I also think Veemon is Digimon's Eevee being the rival mascot of Agumon (Their Pikachu) and having so many different evolution paths, even back as early as season 2.
Digimon Doesn't Really Have An Eevee Equivalent. Every Digimon Has Like 50+ Things It Can Evolve Into.
Izzy has one of my favorite Pokémon in Vikavolt
tk and kari as psychic and fairy was perfect! 💯🔥
Cool. Now I wonder how the characters from digimon frontier and pokemon reBurst would swap. Just an idea
Definitely could be explored in the future!
Now this was a really cool idea! Heading over to Karn's channel now!!!
Themes for 02
Davis-Dragon, obviously,
Ken- our former Digimon emperor Darkness,
Cody-Fighting(because of Kendo) or Ground,
Yolei- possibly another Flying gym.
Tamers-
Takato- Since Guilmon is a virus type- perhaps Poison, if not I’ll say fire,
Henry-Terriermon is a bunny so perhaps Normal,
Rika-perhaps Psychic.
Feel free to take my suggestions or not.
Here's some ideas for the 02 Digidestined.
Davis- Dragon Type
1. Salamence (a blue Dragon with wings like ExVeemon)
2. Turtonator (for Flamedramon)
3. Dracozolt (kind of a stand-in for Raidramon)
Ken- Poison Type (Izzy has bug type and poison hints at evil/dark side of the Digimon Emperor)
1. Scolipede (like an overgrown Wormmon)
2. Beedrill (reference to Stingmon, especially its' Mega Form)
3. Naganadel (keeps the stinger motif and it's a dragon to reference Paildramon, Stingmon's DNA Digivolution with ExVeemon)
Cody- Ground Type
1. Sandslash (Armadillomon)
2. Excadrill (Digmon, especially with the drill claws)
3. Whiscash (kind of a stand-in for Submarimon)
Yolei- Fighting Type (Sora has flying type and fighting points to Yolei's extroverted nature)
1. Hawlucha (literally Hawkmon)
2. Blaziken (looks like a bipedal Halsemon, even up to the white wings jotting out from its' head)
3. Hitmonlee (reference to Shurimon, stretchy limbs and all)
When I was young digimon crosswars was my favorite show of all time
I didnt realise there was a second half to you and kharns collaboration. This is really really fun. Would not mind more like this.
This was well put together 👏🏾
I also loved both. 😍 I loved the Dimon game I had as a kid... I think it was on ps1 or ps2. So fun
GREAT video!!!! 🤩
Only correction I would put is replacing Luxray with Manectric which is an electric dog with hair that kind of looks like Matt's 01 hair.
