    I bought my 2004 Ranger Edge extended cab with suicide doors new. It now has 32,000 miles on it. 3.0 liter vulcan, automatic transmission. I still love it. Fuel pump failed two years ago. Needs upper and lower ball joints. Headliner sags where it meets the windshield. Wing door latch cables need cable ends replaced (that will be next week when parts get here.) No rust, no wrecks. I think I'll keep it.

    I have owned two Ford Rangers and love them. My current 2009 Sport 4x4 has 250,000 km and still runs great. Ford trucks have strong engines that will last as many years as you need, if taken care of. I recommend Lucas oil additive; reduces engine wear and and quiets engine noise.

    I think I know why you love your Ranger -- I feel the same. Mine is a 1993 XLT, 3 liter V6, long-bed. I bought it used in 1998, my girlfriend showed it to me at a yard sale. Has 346,000 miles (122,000 when I bought it), engine rebuilt January 2021. I pamper it by installing new parts before they break, alternator, cooling system parts and so on. Top side paint is faded, otherwise (except for the headliner) it's in good shape.

    I have an 87 Ranger XLT long box with the 2.3 and a 4-speed overdrive transmission and I love my little truck. It is not the fastest vehicle, but it has been the most useful thing I have ever owned. It has been in my family since new and was set up as my folk's tow vehicle and hardly ever got driven (has 63,000 miles on it now). I have people asking me every so often if it is for sale and I just say no, cause what would I replace it with? It is just too handy and a part of the family.

    Man, I always wanted an FX4 Level II when I was ~20yo but my career was just getting started and didn't want payments yet. Now I own a 2021 XLT Tremor and feel I got the modern version of that truck. Sometimes want to replace the rear fender Tremor decals with the old FX4 Level II decals. Just hope my truck lives half as long as these bullet proof rangers in the video.

    • @revnation_auto
      @revnation_auto  4 месяца назад

      That 21 Tremor is a solid truck man. Get yourself an older Ranger and restore down the road when you’ve got some time. They aren’t too expensive and even it’s ragged out, you can replace most anything that wears out in these and they just keep on going. I reviewed a 23 Tremor in my Ranger playlist, I actually liked it quite a bit.

    I bought my 1997 Ranger XLT standard cab short bed. It was October of 1997 It was a leftover. It had the 2.3 L. 5 speed stick. Willow green with green interior. March 2019, A 18 year old kid driving a 20 year old Buick Century ran a stop sign at Chick-Fil-A. I got T-boned. Needless to say it was totaled. It was 5 miles short of 250K. And for the most part trouble free. As in saying, the engine had never been worked on. And the clutch was the original and shifted like it was still new. So in August of 2019 I traded my white 2014 Ford Fiesta S in on a white 2019 Ranger XL. I do like my 2019, but it's not the same as my 1997

    So you replaced nearly everything. I also replaced everything in my 2000 Ford Ranger, except for the engine, some things I replaced twice, like the radiator. I estimate that I've invested around $15k into it, just to keep it on the road, so nothing fancy added to it. I've been putting non-ethenol fuel in it since the shtuff was being offered for sale here, around 2005. So I imagine that the engine is super clean, or at least whatever the fuel touches is super clean. During oil changes I always forget what kind of oil to add, so I tell the mechanic to add either synthetic or the real shtuff. Not to shabby cause I bought it from a friend and I only paid him $3,500 for this truck, which I made payments on for under one year, paid off, no interest.
