Hey Everyone - returning from CES has been tough, especially for my good friend Kyle. I still have some vids to post but Kyle came back to a burned-down home. Still too early to figure out how we can best help him and others in his situation, but for now we're doing our best to be supportive and sympathetic. Here's his vid if you missed it - ruclips.net/video/U22zM_tr-CU/видео.html
I have seen it. In case someone does read Kyle's comments: his cats did make it out before the house burned down. And he did find an intact set of his office keys.
Paul you by a long shot have the absolute best coverage of ces. I love how quickly you get pertinent information out, quick little perfect videos with the technology and new innovative features front and centre. I could imagine the work that’s involved getting this information out so quickly while you’re out on the road travelling and it’s much appreciated. Great job. 😘
I have a white 5000D airflow, but I really like where Corsair is taking the design of the 4000D model. Kudos. My thoughts and prayers go out to Kyle and all those affected by those fires.
Finally a company making cases for people with cats. All the times my cat has stepped on my power button. Now for a top vent delete option like the Fractal Design Define series.
In my home, 140mm fans are the norm. They push more air at slower speeds with whisper quiet noise. That coupled with extra large heatsinks makes for a no-noise tower. I have a couple of their 5000D airflow cases and love them.
@@MasterJangleLeg I have two 140mm on the front and one in between the two halves of the heat sync. Unfortunately, you can only fit a 120 mm fan on the back of the case. This arrangement keeps my temps low and quiet. Very quiet! I have two similar machines mounted on my office wall to the right of my work desk using metal shelf U-brackets that the cases sit on it. Note that I am currently running a 5900x and 3080 Ti. This machine was near top of line when I built it. I am due to build a new rig sometime in the next 4-5 months as soon as all of the new CPUs/GPUs have been released and on the market for at least a couple of months. I usually build every other year. I will be sticking with Ryzen, as I've been on it since the 2700x and never had issues.
and i only rebuilt my pc in the white 4000d a few months ago. DANG U CORSAIR. i will be buying this case however when i do upgrade again. This is so well designed and by far my favorite case design and look wise ive ever built with. I ALWAYS ALWAYS recommend this one to my new friends for there first build. oh and amazing coverage PAUL thank u for putting up with those dunce's at CES to give us the actual content u know we want. I wish i was rich cause id buy u a whole warehouse of pc parts and a team to help u make content. U deserve the best my man!!
Now I love this case! That is really well thought through case for £100!!!. Well done corsair.... oh and well done joe for getting all of these videos out so quickly.... I hope paul actually let you out your room!
I think it’s a strategy to rebuild before the 2028 summer Olympics, lots of insurance payouts are going to be for filled. Kyle has a really nice car, survived Covid and a divorce so he will be just fine.
I've got both the black and white ones on their way. I'm going to build two systems at the same time-one for content creation and one for gaming. The reason I bought both the black and white is that they are modular, so I can swap the pieces between the two to create a black-and-white scheme for both builds. This is going to be cool!
Glad they went with a pure white instead of the gray trim on the original white 4000D, looks so much better imo. And a very nice assortment of velcro straps on the back side it looks like, which is always appreciated
Oh, it seems to have an integrated GPU bracket on the right side of the motherboard tray. Love to see that. GPUs are stupid heavy nowadays so I have for a long time wondered why these supports don't come with the case already. Also, just looked Kyle's video about his house... all the love and energy to him, been watching him since awesomesauce days.
Hmm, I can only visually compare it to my 5000D Airflow, but I'd reckon the improved airflow isn't a fib simply because it looks like the frontpanel has less material getting in way.
Corsair did right on the R1000x PSU with a fan control nob, I need it for a very specific situation, I understand if other people think it is a waste. Also, I love corsairs zero RPM mode, after five years there wasn’t even enough dust to bother cleaning the filter on my current case.
Attention to details, focus on functionality, but combined with distinct visual features, fair price point - sounds really great and makes me hopeful for future Corsair products 😊
I really like the sliding fan rail on top. In most cases, if you install 140mm fans, you still have the 120mm framework in the way. I also like the front mesh. Other mesh cases I've had have been easy to dent, and once you do, they are dented for life and it's VERY noticeable. That 3D mesh looks less likely to dent. If you did, it might be straightened out or be barely visible.
Corsair Fanboy here, 4000D is the best bang for the buck case ever in my opinion! I have used many different cases and have never gotten as good of airflow and cooling as with the 4000D. Even duel chamber cases with 10 or more fans. Very nice Job Corsair on updates to it and I love the new reverse fans you started making, Now I have to swap all of my QX120's out for them
I love the sliding rail for the top fans. That has been one of my biggest pet peeves since most designs restrict airflow when you have the supports of both sizes without a sliding rail. I really hope we see a refresh of the 5000D with these improvements as well. Though if i can cool a 4090/5090 and a 9950X3D with a custom loop I would be happy with this as an option. but without really knowing the radiator support for dual Radiator its hard to say.
I like having my ports at the top of the case as I plug my headphone charger into the top and rest my headphones on the case. Love my shift PSU from Corsair though
Best 4000D case I have seen but is the lower mesh filtered and has the case been widened for better cable management. this by far Corsairs second best case ever but still wish they upgrades the OLD 540 AIR. I wish ALL case manufactures made their case with real air flow like the New 4000d has.
One thing to note is that the new Frame 4000D with its slightly lower price tag does *not* include any stock fans while the old 4000D did, which does somewhat lessen the value proposition compared to similarly priced cases that come with a full assortment of usable fans. That said, I do still prefer this approach over the half-assed 2 stock fans of the original 4000D where you always wanted to get extras anyway.
The two stock fans in the original 4000D really annoyed me. I just bought three matching fans for the front and used one of the included fans in the rear. The remaining fan is lost in a box somewhere. I am glad that they moved the external connections to the front. Top facing IO is just going to collect dust and dirt.
I prefer buying cases with no fans. I always replace them anyway so for me thay are just an added expense for nothing. But you are right about it affecting the price/value compared to the previous version.
Both replies completely missed the point, the price is lower yes, but not low enough to account for those 2 missing fans meaning you get less for your money.
@@kettusnuhveliNo they arent missing anything; you are. Those fans dodnt actually give any value to thek wince they'd buy their own eother way due to they wanted matching fans or different fans altogether. If the front takes three fans but they only come with two, a lot of people will dotch all 3 for a cheap 3 pack or something. So instead of $105 + cost of fans, it's $99+ cost of fans.
I have the O.G. 4000d airflow and it's fucking great. The only improvement I can think of is to have rubber garments near the power supply side to feed cables up through there a Lil easier. Long live the Coesair 4000d airflow chassis.
I am building a new PC this year and the case MUST have front and bottom I/O and power / reset buttons (and be mATX) I hope more case manufacturers follow this trend. Edit: Jan 2025: Paul admits to liking the feel of something heavy and ridged.
It’s cool that they revamped it now you can actually put a 360mm aio at the top unlike my the og 4000D I would of wanted more Io front usb port’s though
Copy pasting what I just commented elsewhere: Thermaltake's CTE750, and Phanteks' G500A with the extra $10 bracket. That's assuming you mean 3.5" drives. I need some storage in my system. Large M2 drives are costly compared to HDD so I use 2xM2 drives and 6xHDD which is what my motherboard supports. All these cases...where am I supposed to put my 6 HDD drives?

It was hard to see, was there a dust filter on that 4000D? Watching in vr so, screen door and all that. I don't care what influencers say, I don't buy cases with no dust filter. Also prefer ports on the top, not the bottom. Still a nice case though. Did they fix the problem with tall RAM hitting a top mounted AIO?
What do you mean little front I/O? That's fairly standard. Most boards come with a pair USB3 ports and a single USB-C port. The higher end boards add a second pair of USB3 ports for the front. Then there's always audio. What else is missing?
@@36bounce Because that's kinda dumb. Firstly, no Ryzen nor Core boards have two USB ports. They've only now standardized having one. Why would case manufacturers go add in something nearly nobody can use? If you want 4 USB 3 ports at the front, buy a case that has them. Most won't, because most boards don't have them. And boards won't have more because they're lower specced than the ones on the back of the motherboard. Use those ones.
@@Dexx1s....... 1 USB 3.0 on a motherboard supports 2...USB 3.0 FRONT panel. My Asrock Z690 board has two USB 3.0 connectors which means your case can have 4 ... USB 3.0.
@@36bounce To clarify, when I said "motherboard port", I mean a motherboard header. The majority of boards will only have one header, so yea, two USB ports on the case, which is what most cases do have. And among Intel's lineup of boards, where do you suppose the Z series sits? And do you really think that that's the series that most people are buying? But even apart from that Asrock specifically tends to add another header on their boards. Other brands will still tend to have one one header on their boards, regardless of the price and just add more to the back, because those are the better ports that you're intended to use anyway. The ones on the front are mainly for convenient temporary use.
I prefer the case on the floor cause I don’t have the space on my desk since I live in a small appartment, thats the whole reason I won’t get thise case, cause I loved the IO on top … It’s an awesome case, but no unfortunately
That makes the 4000D a lot better in my view. I build open-loop watercooling solutions using multiple radiators (two 360s or two 240s, depending on load). Having one radiator in the top and one on the side in front of the MB as the 4000D now supports is the only way to fly. Front-mounted radiators dump all their heat into the case, heating up the components, the water in the loop and feeding the top radiator hot air. With radiators on the top and the side, both exhausting, you don't need any intake fans, and even the back fan is purely optional. I use a 5000D for my gaming box with two 38mm thick 360mm radiators with the top and side mounting, two D5 pumps, a watercooled and overclocked 4080 and heavily overclocked 13700K with a Auquacomputer Kryos NEXT block on it. Using this approach you can keep a system with 750W of combined GPU and CPU power/heat completely silent under most application use. My pumps run 2100 rpm and the six Noctua 120mm fans on the radiators run 730rpm under all but the heaviest loads, which rarely occur outside of dedicated processing workloads or synthetic multi-threaded testing or benchmarks. An Aquacomputer Aquaero 6LT controller monitors coolant temperature and uses custom defined functions to balance fan and pump speed against that as well as CPU and GPU core temps. Kudos to Corsair for implementing this substantially better basic design in the 4000D also. I makes a truly sophisticated cooling solution feasible in a smaller and less expensive case. Limiting the glass area on the side and perforating below that is also a huge step forward. I bought a second metal side for my 5000D and don't run a glass one, as you can run either one on either side due to symmetry, to achieve the same. This new 4000D is a very capable case at 100 bucks and is a refreshing alternative to the host of lame designs that permeate the market. I'll be using it for future gaming builds I create and/or design for others in the future. It will be excellent for a silent 9800X3D/RTX 5090 watercooled system.
Well, im exclusively 140mm fans, so this would jever be a case for me. Looks like a decent upgrade though. Also, looks like they have an RGB version for $10 more than comes with 3 RGB fans, so a $5 increase for that, is fine, i guess.
Now I'll be waiting for the 7000D Frame !! ... Hint Hint .... Corsair missed a branding opportunity with the 12v connectors on the PSU's .. Shoulda made the ends Yellow to match their Corsair Yellow they use alot !!
They really destroyed the d series. Why is there a huge gap in the pcie slots? Why is there no filters? Someone has to test the difference in performance between more airflow and more dust buildup.
The worst thing about the 4000-D has been the value. $105 and only includes two 120mm fans. Lots of other cases out there come filled with fans for a lot less $. Now they've taken $5 off MSRP and stopped including any fans at all. Not sure I'd call that any kind of improvement in the value department
Power buttons etc down on the floor is a deal breaker. Who wants to have to reach all the way down to the floor? Had case on floor for 20 years, there's zero space on my corner desk to move the PC up to the desktop.

What do you mean little front I/O? That's fairly standard. Most boards come with a pair USB3 ports and a single USB-C port. The higher end boards add a second pair of USB3 ports for the front. Then there's always audio. What else is missing?
@@Dexx1s Why not have 4 USB 3.0 and 2 USB C. They (all manufacturers) skimp on this.
Can the vertical mount fit a peerless assassin?
So which way does the 4000D mobo tray pull out, solid panel or glass panel?
Well, im exclusively 140mm fans, so this would jever be a case for me. Looks like a decent upgrade though.
Also, looks like they have an RGB version for $10 more than comes with 3 RGB fans, so a $5 increase for that, is fine, i guess.
wait.. my case is on the floor!
I order the case should be here end of January
Where did you buy?
@delivp Amazon

Welp, I can’t get this because of the front io. My pc is under my desk (but not on the floor) 😢
Is there a new 5000D?
why should cases not be on the floor??
too much dust
I wanted to buy 3500X, should I wait for this one?
The new mesh pattern really isn’t doing it for me… 😢
Any of those PSU dual rail or all just single 12v rail
So maybe the Corsair "Cheese-Grader" panel case is more apt.
If there is a frame for lots of HDD support
Now I'll be waiting for the 7000D Frame !! ... Hint Hint ....
Corsair missed a branding opportunity with the 12v connectors on the PSU's .. Shoulda made the ends Yellow to match their Corsair Yellow they use alot !!
4000Deez nuts
Like the old version more. That front panel looks mweh.
Cool !
Not sure I'd call that any kind of improvement in the value department
its... ribbed 0:48
Power buttons etc down on the floor is a deal breaker. Who wants to have to reach all the way down to the floor? Had case on floor for 20 years, there's zero space on my corner desk to move the PC up to the desktop.
Corsair actually launching good products, I'm conflicted
