The Bike Show attends the launch in Port Elizabeth and we give you some feedback on whether it is worth while to trade in your 2011 Fireblade for the latest version.
Awesome bike, no gadgets or fly by wire, great chassis, and cheaper than all the rest... and if you want something that handles well out of the crate, this is the bike...
There's something awesome about Hondas that apparenty a lot of people,riders/so called riders dont seem to get afetr all these years of Blade history..Hondas arent about shoulder ripping power man..Its about making the rider feel safe and enjoy the ride..Its about feedback, tons of feedback, its about intuitive handling and linear delivery..Thats Honda's heritage bitches!!!!!
I've been waiting for the v4 fireblade since it was first "pictured" (i.e., CGI mock up) as an exclusive on the cover of MCN since 2006. Don't hold your breath.
Karl Hungus power delivery is smoother due to better engine primary balance. amount of power is much of a muchness disadvantage: packaging, 2 cylinder heads, basically more expensive to build
Not really. The VFR800 has less power than the CBR600RR and in terms of torque for displacement makes less torque per CC as well (62nm for 599cc vs. 75nm for 782cc). vs the blade it isn't even close, the blade has 112nm for 999cc (for the 08-11)
Even in 2016 I'm interested in this bike because it's such a good road bike compared to something the race bike the R1 is now. And they are very cheap to buy right now. Not popular, so if you want a new one dealers are selling them at cost to be rid of them.
Horsepower isn't everything, the Fireblade boasts in handling and comfort, a rider who is comfortable is able to push his limits more and is therefore faster.
Its a fantastic motorcycle for the money. It is easy to ride, very reliable, and the handling is great...warning..the stock tires on the bike suck. Make sure they are warm before you push it or you WILL be high siding.
You're one of my favorite riders! Luv BikeShow...are you in down under? I'm here in the states Missouri it sucks. I'm 63 luv the Fireblade but since I'm huge and like to carry a passenger ill stick with my lasts-forever '97 Cbr1100xx it's pretty fast too!
Why does it suck that you're in Missouri? That's some of the best road ways you'll find . How big are you also.. I'm 6'1 250 and looking at getting one of these. Plus I will have my girl on board at times
Also true. But that little edge the honda has when it comes to just opening up the throttle; last only a couple seconds. Then the bmw and zx10 fly by it after that. So the midrange power isn't really an advantage at all over the other bikes. In my opnion.
I agree totally. my next bike will be the ZX10R. on a track the BM & ZX would have the advantage. in the real world your local twisties the midrange of the Blade does make it an easy bike to ride. Ive got a 675R have trouble finding roads that you can ride that to its full potential. anyway who cares I think all the litre bikes are excellent. I would be happy to be given any of them. does'nt matter what you own, long as ya got ya arse on a bike !
I have the snub nose repsol 2010 fireblade and I love everything about it its a true road bike for fast Sunday blasts , the torque is sensational for everyday riding and handling is great yeah there's faster bikes out there with more electronics and more bhp however in the real world they can't touch the fireblade
true but the bmw or the zx does'nt have the midrange the blade has. took 1 for a testride the other day and they are a great bike. have a look at motorcycle USA street and track test, good review !
I hear what you're saying. I started off on a CBR 600RR and there was a build quality to it that the Suzuki doesn't quite have. I just seem to feel more confident on Honda's. I've only ridden Honda & Suzuki tho. Some prick wrote my 2010 gixxer off and I've seen these 2012 blades going for around £7800 now (trade price). I'll probably end up going back to Honda.
Am I the only one who likes the "snub nose" 09-11 best? Oh by far! Like a puff adder with a rat in its gob, rather that the pointy shark look like everything else in the world.
Honda supersports in general are more road focused with more midrange punch and a more comfortable ride. Most supersports owners (myself included), won't ever take their bikes on the track. I don't need to make all my power up top, and if I did, I'd buy an R6 instead of my CBR600RR.
never been a fan of the car fireable, had 3 of different ages, traded up and i now have an rd500 and a ducati 999 find both of them much more fun than the fire blade
Thumbs up if you are watching this at the end of 2015 ! Nearly 4 years later and still no update to the bike !! Honda we are very disappointed. Do something !!!
The only thing I would like to see is a TFT screen. and maybe kill that ugly over weight exhaust but thats what the after market is for. I agree this bike doesn't need the fancy electronics. Maybe ABS would be my only choice.
+Pedro “CrazyDiavelRider” C - I believe ABS is available on the CBR1000RR this year. As for display, I'd be happy with an analog tach and speedometer. A bike like this should move needles.
+Karl Hungus I wrote off my first 2012 cbrrr1000 a minivan turned left and struck my left side..a mother later I bought the same bike but the old owner upgraded it and the engine command makes a big difference, both bike have ABS and it make a difference.. these bikes are coooooooool..John McPint TT Isle of Man will tell you
There have been rumours of a Honda V4 litrebike for years now. It won't happen. (And the 2012 1000RR has heavier wheels than the 2011 model, I believe).
kinda different story since its 2 cilinder machine, and honda, kawasaki and bmw has 4 of them. but ktm is great bike in my opinion, if you have the money since its not that cheap. rather compare it to Ducati:)
Mate...get the Fireblade. I've couriered on modern 500/600 cc tourers & owned modern litre bikes. The difference between a modern sportsbike and a modern cruiser/tourer alone is massive in terms of capability. They'd make a 1977 Kawasaki KZ1000 feel shite in comparison (no disrepect intended). You'll fall in love with the handling/power delivery of a modern sportsbike.
I'm also looking other bike but Ducati Panigale is too expensive, Suzuki and Kawasaki Ninja I don't like their design and exhaust, so the only choice I think is CBR1000RA NEW 2014
Keep the fireblade without the electronic rider aides bs I love this bike!
Lonely Spawn lol
CycleCruza are you saying you'd rather not have aids?
“SUBSCRIBE Today!”
Hey cycleCruza
All these years later i just got a 2012 w/6k miles from a original owner.
This bike still dominates!
I've had this exact bike for 3 months now, amazing handling!
What have you got now?
Awesome bike, no gadgets or fly by wire, great chassis, and cheaper than all the rest... and if you want something that handles well out of the crate, this is the bike...
Exactly.
*I have the model of this.I leaned the bike and found out that it can lean pretty low. Thanks to the exhaust design. This bike will be mine one day.*
I prefer Honda....Honda has something that other companies dont! I dont know.. I cant explain it If you have a Honda u know what I mean :P
DSTR facts
HONDA JAPAN FOR LIFE👍😎
That s so true!
I'm loving it! Great to feel the buzz of biking again!
Absolutely Ace review, you sir deserve a medal.
Man, imagine, a V4 Fireblade with a full electronics package...would give BMW & Kawasaki a run for its money.
Yeah!
I've been waiting for the v4 fireblade since it was first "pictured" (i.e., CGI mock up) as an exclusive on the cover of MCN since 2006. Don't hold your breath.
+J eL What advantages are offred by a V4 versus an inline 4? Does this provide for a power advantage, or is it just a weight-distribution/CG thing?
Karl Hungus power delivery is smoother due to better engine primary balance. amount of power is much of a muchness
disadvantage: packaging, 2 cylinder heads, basically more expensive to build
Not really. The VFR800 has less power than the CBR600RR and in terms of torque for displacement makes less torque per CC as well (62nm for 599cc vs. 75nm for 782cc). vs the blade it isn't even close, the blade has 112nm for 999cc (for the 08-11)
There’s something about Honda that makes it special, it’s just a solid brand. You know exactly what you’re going to get.
Good quality review. Thank you.
Even in 2016 I'm interested in this bike because it's such a good road bike compared to something the race bike the R1 is now. And they are very cheap to buy right now. Not popular, so if you want a new one dealers are selling them at cost to be rid of them.
+turbo311 The new CBR1k aren't popular? what, why? Honda's are the "creme de la creme".
Dam brother, you can ride.
This bike is just perfect.
Horsepower isn't everything, the Fireblade boasts in handling and comfort, a rider who is comfortable is able to push his limits more and is therefore faster.
Just bought a black 12' cbr1000rr. Amazing motorcycle. So user friendly.
I've got the 2011 and this new one certainly won't make me change it! The blade is the perfect road bike!
Its a fantastic motorcycle for the money. It is easy to ride, very reliable, and the handling is great...warning..the stock tires on the bike suck. Make sure they are warm before you push it or you WILL be high siding.
Unfortunately, here we are six years later and still no Honda V4 superbike, although it's rumoured that a RVF1000R is being released in 2019
I had an 08 model, it consumed a quart of oil every 1000 miles. Other than the oil consumption, I loved it !!!!!!!

3:43 That line looks like a chunk of tire is about to rip off.
Also true. But that little edge the honda has when it comes to just opening up the throttle; last only a couple seconds. Then the bmw and zx10 fly by it after that. So the midrange power isn't really an advantage at all over the other bikes. In my opnion.
Anytime on a fireblade is a good time

You nailed it. IN THE REAL WORLD.
true but the bmw or the zx does'nt have the midrange the blade has. took 1 for a testride the other day and they are a great bike. have a look at motorcycle USA street and track test, good review !
sweeet looking forward to seeing it
Fireblade is the nickname for the CBR1000RR!
Perfect test. Good job.
i agree with you. Its where 99% of riders spend their time; in the mid-range.
Awesome motorcycle awesome review 👍🏾💯🇬🇧
5:31 is a great shot!
so whats your argument to the isle of TT where they use street bikes like this and you have the fireblade winning?
I hear what you're saying. I started off on a CBR 600RR and there was a build quality to it that the Suzuki doesn't quite have. I just seem to feel more confident on Honda's. I've only ridden Honda & Suzuki tho.

There is a repsol edition for 2013
I wish I could get on such a motorcycle
But I'm from Iraq, Iraq, his condition is stable
I love these motorcycles
My next toy what a beautyful machine!!!
Is this good for beginners?
+SpaztheGamer Troll alert!
Yeah as soon as you turn the key it detects your experience level and if you aren't experienced enough it explodes instantly.

+Jack McCourt well you do have to put it into gear..lol.. check out TT Isle of Man....thats taking it to the limit >;-)
+SpaztheGamer dude i sugest u should get like ninja 300 or like cbr250.

+Benana and wisdom

juicer404 😂😂😂
5:32 superb throttle control :O
Am I the only one who likes the "snub nose" 09-11 best? Oh by far! Like a puff adder with a rat in its gob, rather that the pointy shark look like everything else in the world.
Oldpigsass me too

Well done Old chap
The best road superbike. Period. :)
Great video
if they can make beautiful bike, they will sell more.. but not many people dream of buying Honda...
never been a fan of the car fireable, had 3 of different ages, traded up and i now have an rd500 and a ducati 999 find both of them much more fun than the fire blade
Nice video + bike
pure jewell....
I remember when the 900 came out and riders were crashing them left, right and centre !!
How about a video on the new 600RR
Compare cbr 1000rr & BMW S1000rr, which bike very good?
This one looks much much much Better than the bullshit new one
i like the snub nose better
Thumbs up if you are watching this at the end of 2015 !
Nearly 4 years later and still no update to the bike !!
Honda we are very disappointed. Do something !!!
I love the snub nose.
Wow! Anthony Hopkins on a Fireblade!
Nice riding
Why there are brow calipers on some of those HRC 2012? There used to be black.p
Good review but that background music is loud and awful
To all the dudes talking crap about Honda. Is Kawasaki or Suzuki even in moto gp???
honestly at 5,85'(174cm without shoes) and 150lbs(69kg) will I struggle with this bike? will I be tall enough?
The only thing I would like to see is a TFT screen. and maybe kill that ugly over weight exhaust but thats what the after market is for. I agree this bike doesn't need the fancy electronics. Maybe ABS would be my only choice.

the abs adds 26lbs of weight under the seat. you will notice the extra weight
BEST
Cbr 🔥🔥🔥🔥 always Honda make smooth engine riding comfortable is the main thing real star Honda 💯🥰
I afraid no complete redesign until the liter bike market picks up.
Unfortunately no V4 on 25th Birthday fireblade
Honda needs to do some major upgrades to compete with the bmw s1000rr and kawasaki zx10r all in the
❤️❤️❤️
Perfect beginner bike for LAMS
true
There have been rumours of a Honda V4 litrebike for years now.
It won't happen.
(And the 2012 1000RR has heavier wheels than the 2011 model, I believe).
Whay is the different fireblade and cbr1000rr? .
2012-2016 is basically the same bike
2008-2020 is pretty much all the same bike.
Damn sportbikes are so slim and naked now, I have a 07 ZX 10 and I feel like it has a bunch of fairings compared to new shit...
i cant find a good review like this on the 2012 cbr600rr any have a link?
the better sports bike in the world.
i dont know i f i like the new one better than this one... dreambike
kinda different story since its 2 cilinder machine, and honda, kawasaki and bmw has 4 of them. but ktm is great bike in my opinion, if you have the money since its not that cheap. rather compare it to Ducati:)
Wow have things changed...
Wheels are actually heavier according to Honda. Stronger but heavier
what about the KTM RC8?
The bike is awesome, I own one but the stock tires suck.I replace with Michelin c3
I'm thinking about getting this bike. Are you still happy with your fireblade? Thank you
I STILL LOVE MY BIKE!!
Julius Savage I would live your bike too!
Hey big head
Show. tenho uma.
You'll fall in love with the handling/power delivery of a modern sportsbike.
i prefer the front looks of the old cbr's
cool
I guess this is raw power no abs, no modes, no shit 😫
does this model burn oil ?
Faisal sm no
Dude why is ur bike outfit so tight?! Haha
look who is winning isle of man pretty much every year .. Honda
สวยงามมากอยากได้อะ

THE 2010 NOSE LOOK IS BETTER
but honda is still the king in isle of man TT
I'm also looking other bike but Ducati Panigale is too expensive, Suzuki and Kawasaki Ninja I don't like their design and exhaust, so the only choice I think is CBR1000RA NEW 2014
Yamaha R1...
Ducati 899 ...
jettero75 up
If I had a r3 2015 do you think I could handle this
yeah man I'm also looking at 2012 cbr1000RR
i own 2011 fireblade. easy to handle. you be fine if you know how tp ride
Atleast you have driven some sort of motorcycle. Some ppl have even started on Hayabusa and they are fine. So go for it!
