A lot of people will say he is just so-so. But I disagree. He is so reserved about his sound. Doesn't like to talk about it. He has such a great classic tone. No frills. Guitar, amp and one pedal. Who does that? Not many. Brendan is a true musician. So few of them left.
Whoever thinks he's just so-so doesn't like good songs. His stuff from the 90's (w/ Jason Falkner?) and up 'til present day he's been kicking out the jams. One of the few acts that got me out of the house to check him live a few years back. Great set.
This gentleman has definitely studied the Beatles music. He's got that sound down, among many other's. I believe he has definitely been studying the best of the best & then turning out his own special music & taking it all a little further down the road. Great job man, you sound amazing & I loved seeing pieces of your collection. Just wonderful.
Just in case anyone is wondering, that dobrato is from castle creek guitars, a great little shop in the beautiful little town of Gunnison Colorado. They are awesome guitars to play, cant wait until I have enough spare cash for one!
John...dude...can you please go into more detail with these rig rundowns. They were so top notch but have kinda taken a dump recently. Ask about pickups, years of guitars, string gauges, picks, speakers, etc. Get the details brother. Seems like when the question needs to be asked you go, "ok then" and move on when the detailed question needs to be asked. Just a little constructive criticism. Keep em coming. I and many more like me dig the rig rundowns.
A nit. Having music in the background is very distracting. I stopped watching after a few minutes because it was irritating. I thought it was an ad playing somewhere on the page.
this was on my birthday and actually that intro reminds me of the solo from Extreme - Rest In Peace hold on a minute, there's a good one... Rig Rundown - Extreme's Nuno Bettencourt
Who needs to be entertained by a rig rundown? I just want the info and an understanding of the player. Bollinger delivers, and then he gives the best gear reviews too.
he looks like he's had a talkin to by the PG guys. He's calmed down a lot, doesn't smile as much, and doesn't say "cool" after everything anymore; instead he says, "right" or "yeah". although most people on here dislike him, i dont mind him too much, and his playing in the demo's is on point.
J Phoenix I actually like his demoes better because he can actually play, but on the interview side, he is really struggling. Get anyone else who has interviewed on pgs before but not him.

He also has a beautiful voice!
Racounters are the greatest band in America, Help Me Stranger put them to legend status.
This guy has perfected the art of the humblebrag.
Jack white rig rundown seems like the next step... please?

79 x "you know"
3 x "I don't know"
2 x "I know"
Apparently John Bohlinger knows a lot, relative to Brendan Benson who mostly doesn't know ;-)
I had no idea this was on youtube. I'm a huge BB fan. Good stuff.
Seems like a real cool musician... Loved the rundown! Keep em coming!
+Jason Hobbs Brendan is incredible. See him live, he always puts on a great show. No ego, just great music
He reminds of Will Graham on Hannibal.
Please do a rig rundown with jack white!:)
it would take like 6 hours.
Would even watch if it is 12 but jack uses a pretty simple rig with the stripes!
yeah, but now it'd have to be a studio walk through basically.
Good for him, what a great place to get to. Great gear.
Now, do Jack White!
Fuukana-TV I want it , too พึ่งเห็นว่าเป็นคนไทยเหมือนกัน :)
aaaaahh...the amp he's talking about around 10:00 is the amp he references in his song "Good to Me". :D
captaingymshorts waaa??? He says I got a brand new supro amp. Jack White says Silvertone
Amazing songwriter, I'd like a version of this with the "you knows" and "I don't knows" edited out!!! - all his albums are superb
Just in case anyone is wondering, that dobrato is from castle creek guitars, a great little shop in the beautiful little town of Gunnison Colorado. They are awesome guitars to play, cant wait until I have enough spare cash for one!

Yay for Catalinbread!
background music is really distracting
the ocd looks cool with those white knobs
lol at them talking about Silvertone amps becoming expensive. haha thank your bandmate for that
We played opener for B.B. in early 20000s
How was/is Brendan personally?
Jack White pls
Brendan Rocks! So cute!
A bungler interviewing another!
He looks like your gear editor Charles Saufley
Most underrated member of the raconteurs?
Wasn't the Marshall offset (head) made offset (shifted to the side) to help balance the weight of the heavy transformers for when you carry it?
Another member of the raconteurs would be jack white, who also has an interesting rig!!!
Roxy music record in the mixing room :)
it seems that Tyrion is finally growing up
can we please have an Extreme - Nuno Bettencourt rig rundown?
YES! I WANT THIS TO BE A REALITY!!!
Wooooooooooo!!
Nice stuff. If you can find a bargin on Neve equipement, Buy it. Rupert just makes the best stuff!!!!!
I love that the Marshall sounded better after the flood :D :D :D
Looks like he takes good care of his stuff, some of those vintage amps looked like reissues.
where is the front faded guild that he used on stage with Rac?
He traded it at a NAMM show for a used Epiphone Les Paul.
Nice!
I bet he was the one who lent jack the silvertone for the first stripes album
More studio stuff!!!
music in the background is really distracting ...
I'll watch this later. Will have to try turning up the volume. Don't know these dudes.

If you are in Nashville, please visit Jack White.
LOOK AT THOSE AMPS! I MEAN LOOK AT THEM!
I like this interviewer... Just me? Ok.
this was on my birthday and actually that intro reminds me of the solo from Extreme - Rest In Peace
hold on a minute, there's a good one... Rig Rundown - Extreme's Nuno Bettencourt
YES PLEASE, MAKE THIS A REALITY!!!
oh and happy birthday
Who needs to be entertained by a rig rundown? I just want the info and an understanding of the player. Bollinger delivers, and then he gives the best gear reviews too.
Amp room!
Catalin Bread! They're here in Portland, OR. This is amp/pedal country, for sure.
nice
it's Ace Ventura
“Dried it out with a humidifier” 🤔
seems to be a thing I guess.... putting the names of your children on the motorave headstock...I believe josh homme did the same thing.
Can't they at least use Tessa Jeffers?
where is Rebbecca Dirks, she was hot
She's at Pro Guitar Shop now
the song at 14:30? please
+александр нестеров Sittin pretty
Hey Scorsese, knock it off with the zooming and moving the camera around. You're not good at it.
this guy is the most unnatural interviewer premier has..
Nah he's good. Brandon is just awkward
You know... ( :
Please fire this interviewer.
he looks like he's had a talkin to by the PG guys. He's calmed down a lot, doesn't smile as much, and doesn't say "cool" after everything anymore; instead he says, "right" or "yeah". although most people on here dislike him, i dont mind him too much, and his playing in the demo's is on point.

Anyone recognize the song in the background at 13:25 ?
"Cold Hands Warm Heart"
Thanks Brian...
Painfull. Spit it out man the same for the interviewer!
Stop that music in the back. It drives the attention away from what he's saying. Felt like I was in a cheap movie or something!
Brendan... Benson is... the master... of... the annoying... pause...
Where is that cute girl that would do rig rundown? It was so much better.
Thirsty
Music during a rig rundown? No thanks.
that Guild has the same tailpiece as Hank Hill's Guild
damn man, these interviews have really gone down hill over the past months
