Wow! A lot of great tips. I hadn't expected the easy way to integrate Photoshop. Nice! Well explained.

I find the combine textures feature really useful when cleaning up massing models - things like books on a bookshelf, groceries on store shelves and ice cream varieties at a stall. Create a rectangle the size of each of the textures, paint it in there, align each of the rectangles next to one another and then run combine textures.
I rather use this feature than do it in photoshop, as then the textures are the right size for the model they came out of. Just repaint the new combined texture on the model, move the texture around until it's showing the right texture and you're done. Can easily end up with 1/30th the textures in a model, which makes a big difference.

A welcome feature would be the ability to combine those textures and maintain their original quality when combined. The quality loss is unacceptable for most applications.
