I've done a lot of Baruuk, and what I can tell you, is the combo is an interesting interaction as compared to broken. Desert wind is broken into 2 sections: first and wave. If you only hit things with the wave, the combo counter will go up, but it will retain gladiator effects and combo from the stat stick. Once you hit something with the fists, desert winds combo overrides your stat stick, you keep the effects of the gladiator set, it just switches over to the combo count of desert winds.
This means an easy and great way to play Baruuk, is to us you Kavat to help build combo on your stat stick (Using pull and the kavat, you can get a 12x in seconds), equipping your fists, then by the time your stat stick combo gets overwritten by the first combo, your good to go any way.
If you run with naramon, and dex arcanes you can turn in/off desert wind at your leisure and not worry about anything. What ever the yellow crit thing thats talked about in this video, I've only ever seen mine drop down to orange cirts if my desert wind combo isn't high enough when I get my first first hit instead of wave hit. But it goes back to red at 6x combo and never goes orange again.
Been running Guardian Derision in the exilus slot for Desert Wind. Can help you build combo in conjunction with the Tandem Bond mod for your companion in keeping your combo topped off. You'll get really big numbers from the damage multiplier and with your Crit Damage multiplied with the shards it just obliterates. Melee Guidance is still viable but this make those damage numbers super big.
you can also use praedos stat stick with naramon and melee guidance so when you vaccum ammo praedos will keep adding combo to its counter so it stays at 12x for glad mods forever you just have to fire some shots every now and then and of course never heavy attack, DE really needs to just fix exalteds all together there so inconsistent.
Epitaph is best for this purpose, since it doesn’t have magazine so it picks ammo
@@v1k37 Bows and other weapons that don't "reload" so to say, but do have an ammo pool (no Nataruk or other weapons with infinite ammo) also work for this.

I use naramon focus school for melee count. I have praedos with the final evolution with ammo pick up gives combo count. Just shoot phantasma or epithat occasionally and you'll keep 12x combo all the time. Bonus is the one companion bond that gives combo count on hit.
Instead of nourish, just used stynax ability for full defense strip at a decent range.
Overall, less stuff to manage and less build up as I go form 0 to 12x very easy with praedos. But I do get more parkour and sprint speed from it.
Overall yours is more stuff to manage it’s just easier to get going . his has more set up but once at a 12x your at a 12x till you leave or die. + why drop nourish over using unairu? Especially when grimoire exists rn.
I hope u do a valkyr with 5 purple shard 👀 it's such an ""amazing"" frame, but a t least it's pure melee and fiting the theme !
You can also use Vazarin's 2nd ability (or any ragdoll helminth) to group enemies and ground finisher all of them at once to make stacking much quicker

Question for curiosity sake: The no combo interaction, does it actually build no combo on the exalted, or is it just impossible to keep the combo up? Basically, should you always go 100% with the exalted or is it better to go 99% to counteract combo?
Like, would rare moments with a constant flow of massive amount of enemies enable me to build and keep up combo with exalted, or does it genuinely generate 0 combo no matter what?
if you don't build up combo using baruuks fist, you lose out on the damage multiplier you get at each combo level (+25%). Using melee guidance misses out on this.
Also building combo with baruuks fist is easy on naramon (slam for 2x combo, then slam/slide attacks). you would want to use naramon anyways for the combo decay
I don't think he was trying to put out a great build, just a new one. I noticed his damage numbers are insanely low in the vid.
Actually if you have a R5 Primary and Secondary Dexterity you get at least 15 sec combo duration which is all you need use Lull you get Restaint down and when you have enough gone pop Desert Wind (reminder don’t use the stat stick) with 15 seconds you can have enough time to punch slide attack slam and if you have Pull Helminth you can get instant 3-4x recast lull and daggers if need be 17% duration is perfect because you can spam lull if you have Natural Talent it’s even faster you will start to see red crit around 4-5x it’s not hard I don’t have those arcanes so I use Drifting Contact because Desert Wind has base 5 combo duration with Drifting contact you get 15 once I get rank 5 primary and secondary dexterity I can swap drifting contact out for something different

Panzer Vulpaphyla can do this too! Swipe plus Viral Quills and Tandem Bond(Viral Quills uses some old melee coding or something I believe) works for giving you combo. Just let the Panzer go at it for a bit and you should have 12x in no time. No need to spend so much time on finisher spam with Crescendo, if you've even got Crescendo that is...

Dude wtf are you about? Valkyr is broken powerful right now. You can just have permanent invincibility with like triple red crit melee hits that shred anything. Its more broken op than anything possibly could be.
Why would you want a rework? Its like asking for her to be worse.
ye like i have loved playing her recently has a mix from melee to gunning with augments war cry and enrage even having the paralysis augment for grouping and being able to use the 1 has movement is just fun
i think a cool way for them to buff her is make every augment but enrage into the base kit will have open them to make unique augments on top and free her from augments restriction on builds has u normally want 1 or way way more like 2 even 3 is what i use and they can then have some light QoL's and bigger augments like maybe riptide being a massive AoE hitting everyone in a cone and pulling them in for damage in slash making them a ball after (spider-man like) maybe paralysis making them into friendly's or deal great damage lots of stuff they cant have done if they want to lower her updated feel (maybe just giving some kind of augment that makes her 4 a gun focued ability insted of melee or some augment of the same level of power has frost got with Biting Frost or sevogoth with his shadow haze)
@@callumprice1710 yea invincibility is strong but its also kind of boring on its own, I want her kit to be updated for more like synergy. As for where she is now she is kinda stale and most people only build up her 4 with eternal war augment. I love her to bits I just want to see her become more than she is right now. Gauss has his inertia battery or whatever why can't she have a rage meter and become the berserker she should be?
She's still good I was doing 60-200m with just red archon shards alone and now trying to get full violet archon shards

Congrats on the 5 Tau Purples. I, on the other hand, am looking at the 210% crit Regulators.
I tested and its..kinda funky tbh. It doesnt seem to improve the regulators for some reason. Also, i heard more purples dont stack with that one that amps crit on secondaries up to 50%(75% taulforged)

nah the orange shards on mesa were fixed to actually proc on kills enemies affected by heat but was gglitched to be every 4 not 1 and was flat , they then fixed it to be any kill with target thjats heat proccedbut made it additive as intended , the cap was also fixed so more = higher cap , basically better reds - 2-3 is enough tbh though anymore is eh

Well it seems making Baruuk's fists share combo with melee weapon (like Khora's Whipclaw for example) is above DE capabilities. That would solve all the issues.
Why does it even have separate combo meter in the first place...
All exhalted melees have a seperate bar,it would be a little op if an exhalted weapom could have a constant 12x damage multiplier
@@LuckyGutsIt doesn't work like that for Exalted melees. a 12x is only a 3.75x multiplier for damage on exalted weapons.
Honestly right now you can run a negative combo duration stat stick as well and stack your combo with the rauta allowing you not to decay at all though you will lose gladiator stack bonus if you heavy attack in desert wind. Best part about this build is running a panzer vulpa with tandem bond that will stack your combo to 12x in desert wind even with negative combo so you can have the gladiator set and 12x desert wind combo infinitely as long as you don't heavy attack.
Just run focus energy to gain the heavy efficiency and you wont lose any stacks
My old barruk build was full umbra set pillage and umbra melee set and arcane strike never had a issue with dexterity arcanes honestly they work well with the fists but that was my build anyways
I prefer using panzer with swipe, tandem bond, and pack leader.
I would like to see the practical use of Melee Duplicate besides of Vastilok only.
Sevagoth arcane inherit, my top use for shadow dps
Also Blood Rush and Weeping Wounds work on stat stick at 4-5x combo you will see 1 stack of the glad mods blood fury and weeping
Melee Duplicate or Melee Exposure are best for baruuk
Also Melee Influence is for electricity damage proccing a chain reaction
That’s why Saryn players use dual ichor incarnon with melee influence
Then If you use Empower Helminth you can get 40 daggers and more status chance on Desert Wind off you pop empower before each skill Natural Talent with quicken that

Prime + Xata whisper + faction mod + devouring attrition. Work better with slowva but also works with 40% strength speedva
I used to use a similar build, 9x ceramic no combo on anything with the -6s combo dur aura, it works fine but if u heavy attack with fist it used still big out

The daggers should already have 9x which is 90% DR not to mention that Desert Wind also has a %DR you shouldn’t be taking any damage
dont use melee guidance because it doesnt use the crit value from serene storm. you can get the same results just running dizzying rounds on a bronco with the same rank melee crescendo and red shards. if you wanna actually understand building baruuk just watch skip through the hour build video its waaaay more helpful
Its odd that people still think melee guidance is the way, its outdated. violets however are superior.
um so much shields? its baruuk? did i miss something? just press 3 and keep the meter low u cant die and with adaption or rolling guard wasted mod slots
Lavos's 1 & 3 opens enemies up for finishers, so he can effectively use crescendo (but cant utilize the new energy related things, ie: duplex bond, violet shards, or other misc effects)
the white arcanes not being sold by the cavia is a crime. Having to go ~20 weeks to even get one guaranteed drop is just wrong. I hope DE changes that specifically.
oh null combo duration is AMAZING for his weapon the Cobra & Crane just call it the sleep stick, it stuns acolytes and demolysts.

I use baruuk with glaive prime riven because his combo building is annoying. If him and excal could build combo with range attacks it would fix them.
instead of going for finishers kill just let your pet build combo for you with tandem bond and swipe, it's faster than the finishers.
Pls make some gyre, citrine and caliban builds with new shards and mods
I can see new gyr builds, but i dont think any new shards benefit caliban in any way. He already has armor strip, so greens do nothing for him, and he doesnt do anything new with purple or orange ones.
Oh i almost forgot, try him out with the saxum mod set. Its fun and can nuke if you use his 2 and 4
@@undeadinside3571 caliban's 4th's blast proc only regens the initial shields listed on the orange shard.(which is lame, it also interrupts normal shield recharge stuff so it can get him killed)
so really he's anti-synergy with most of the new shards.
BUT Precision Intensify is great for his 4th, as well as his 2nd when it replaces someone else's 4th like revenant, banshee, chroma, wisp, octavia, nezha, & mirage (also some others but theres a lot of frames :P)

@@Leviathis_Krade i can see that working. I was stuck running 2 umbral mods and 3 tau reds for 200% strength so i could full strip and 2 yellows for casting speed. His sentients need a huge buff (i would say remove thier HP bars and just make them shield drones. I dont even care if they remove the damage since they do basically none anyway). It makes no sense that they only hit level 90 at 300% strength! (Not even base steel path level!) They shouldnt scale so horribly

Focusing your combo no your melee is not worth it, you get the crit chance but not the crit damage that combo normally gives you, its better to just build x12 on his fists (spam slams or something)

I was leveling some weapons on baruuk and ye hes suprisingly good weapon frame as well, I feel like he has potential for a meme build where u would replace his 4 with (even potentially savage) silence or rest and rage helmiths and fully embrace putting enemies to sleep/not giving them a chance for attack haha

@@undeadinside3571 because basically all your abilities would be focused on defense or preventing enemies from attacking you + 1 still helps u charge restraint (which can give u up to 50% dmg reduction) and Baruuk's 1 doubles the range of Baruuk's 3

Why mod for combo when you can just pick Naramon and not worry about combo and mod on damage instead? I love playing baruuk cause his desert wind damage is insane. I use Vastilok for the melee weapon and it takes me no time at all to build combo from 0 to 12x. With max rank Naramon power spike once i get it there I dont think about it at all. My ability strenth is at 319 plus I use molt augmented to boost the exalted with stacks that dont decay + arcane fury or arcane strike for over the top dps.
Congrats! You are doing the basic setup everyone does. And that setup comes with the flaw of being prone to the combo interaction Gaz is talking about.

Update 27.2 (2020-03-05)
Baruuk’s Reactive Storm Augment Mod will now also apply its Status Chance and damage type matching to enemy weakness on Serene Storm’s AOE attacks.
Previously the Augment was only applying to close-combat attacks - we decided to extend this to Serene Storm’s AOE waves to give more flexibility to the Augment’s use. We'll be monitoring the change as you play and test it for any potential adjustments.
