I picked up my Epi LP Modern last week and I have to say, it is the FIRST Guitar I ever owned where I didn’t want to change the stock pickups, electronics/wiring, pots or caps. I could not be happier with this Guitar. I kinda wish they went the extra mile with not using plastic fret inlays, but I guess you can’t have everything.
For a Chinese made Guitar, it’s absolutely astonishing. I swore I would never buy a Chinese Guitar, totally ate my words with this one. It kicks my Korean Epi’s butt all day long.

This is the best demo of this guitar on YT. Bravo! I don't get all the hate for the Probuckers. Yes, the SDs are clearer and more articulate, but the PBs have a lo-fi sweetness and earthiness to them. Kind of shocked that I would like stock cheap-o pickups more, but there it is. Wow, you are such and inspirational player to make a relatively inexpensive guitar sound like a million bucks. I"m so glad I found this video. Thank you for your efforts and cheers!👍🙏✌

I'm not sure I would call the ProBuckers 'cheapo stock'. They are designed to be the most faithful representation of the original PAFs from what I read. I have listened to a ton of these with BurstBuckers, ProBuckers, Duncan variations. Sound preference is pretty much all that is going on IMO. All sound good, just a little different. I liked the ProBuckers Clean and the better clarity of the SD driven. Now what the hell am I suppose to do.... 🙂

I have the Epi LP Standard 50s Goldtop 2022 with Probucker 1 (neck) and Probucker 2 (bridge). They sound fantastic! They are crisp clear and also punchy. Are very close to the more expensive PAF style pickups on market. From what I hear here, the Duncan's are also good sounding, but different. They are fatter and more compressed. Also I think they have a little bit more output. So no right and wrong here, just different sound. And your playing is stellar! Congrats!

I own 4 post 2020 Epiphones with Probuckers, 1st 3 months thought they were best pickups, never change excellent clarity, no mud, after 6 months, started changing them cause, could hear thinner tone when distorted on all 4, by themselves, sounded fine, even good until compared with Seymours or DiMarzios. They sounded fuller, a lot fatter, richer tone with gain, the Probuckers had holes in the tone in comparison and overall thinner tone. Still, for Epiphone, Probuckers are their best sounding pickups, way better than the older pre-2000 Epiphone Probuckers that were muddy, undynamic.
