Gosh, thanks very much! Fair warning: some of it is WAY too snarky since 2020, so if you have a favourite advent calendar or brand, there's a chance I'm taking the mickey 😂😂 But then I used to LOVE the advent calendars I got back in 2015-2018 or so... even 2019. Now they send such poor fare (in comparison) that I can't help it 😂
Thanks for the review, although I have to disagree on Dr Barbara Sturm sun drops, it gives you the advantage of making any cream an SPF, and I find it pretty useful!
Yes, the Chanel calendar. I just smile when i remember that one and your absolut stunning review of it! Its a cult video. You should really get a award for it. The best calendar video ever! And i have watch many. If any of your subskribers have missed- they should check it up - if its still avaible. Many Thousands of Thanks for that one. Its soooo funny! And you are so right in what you say too
Gosh, thank you very, very much - that is great to hear! I had a lot of fun with that video, and wish they would do another calendar if only to roast it in another video 😂😂 The stickers, and that drawstring pouch utterly finished me off!!!
I'm still hopeful that one of the smaller brands will come up with a decent curation. I want a French pharmacy... or pharmacy beauty advent calendar, with all the Bioderma, La Roche Posay, Avene, Vichy, Sesderma, Filorga, Uriage, and so on!
I wouldn’t have minded Space NK, but I either still have, or have previously tried, almost all of the products contained within, leaving only a few that would be new to me. Not worth it.
I promise I'll have it up by the weekend. Spoiler, because I can't keep secrets: I have at least half a dozen products in there already, and IDK whether to be happy (that I have good, trendy taste) or cry about it (because super-cutesy box). Hate the liquid glitter and clear gloss, but GLAD to see return of the good-sized eyeshadow palettes. They could have sent the Round Lab sunscreen CREAM instead of the darn stick, and a couple of other things could have been better, but I love the Mixsoon so much, and the Numbuzin... overall, I LIKE! Thankfully, I have so much of it that I can sleep instead of waking at stupid o'clock 😂
I don’t mind the lifestyle items since Vogue is a lifestyle brand…but it’s so expensive, and includes some items in the value that are clearly on deep discount/clearance right now. Then tack on $40 shipping for the US.
I should have mentioned this in the video before my voice collapsed... but actual, real GOLD is cheaper than this. You can get a nice 22-carat half-sovereign coin (four grams or so, and older monarch-heads) for £253+ on Royal Mint. It increases in value, and is definitely not tat. Disclaimer: NOT PROMOTING THEM. Pointing out that this £355 calendar contains gold PLATED earrings, and costs more than actual 22-carat ANTIQUE gold coins.

Both last year's and this year's Vogue calendars look absolutely stunning. When I saw last year's, it was already sold out-but I liked it so much that I considered purchasing it this year. The contents were okay (though upon further analysis, not as exciting, since I don't need socks or a sleep mask, which were included last time), but the packaging was gorgeous. I was looking forward to it this year, hoping it would be just as charming-and it actually is. However, in my opinion, the contents don’t justify the price. Those cards or socks are really some kind of joke. The cosmetics are okay, but for example, Harrods, for £100 less, offers way more in my opinion.
Definitely! You get more full sized beauty in Harrods, and the overall value is better, and tat-free. You can get fancy playing cards at Gibson's for £5 or so - NOT in a £355 advent calendar! Someone told me about a Harry Potter-themed socks advent calendar once - so much fun, and a LOT cheaper (was only double figures)!
Ah yes, several people told me they bought it on offer later, and it wasn't bad for £125 - I'll take a couple of serums, a couple of moisturisers, a face mask, and any old tat at that price.
Gosh! Me either! Earplugs, yes - I neeeeeeed them, but not eye masks. Unless there are fog lights or something shining into my eyes. Argh, I hope they don't start sending out foam earplugs next!
£355 and they give socks and cards? 😮My days who is their target market exactly elderly rich ladies? Are you going to do Liberty advent calendar breakdown? It's the only one I'm considering because I have vouchers
Liberty, Glossybox, John Lewis, YesStyle, and Stylevana will be published from the upcoming weekend (YesStyle first). Sadly, my voice gave out after all the filming and singing from the previous weekend, so I was told to "rest it 100%... OR ELSE" - hence the delay 😂😂
I am soo curious about the yesstyle one. However, I am also a little bit annoyed about yesstyle as I try to get the calendar since 2 years. They send a hige amount of calendars to influencers and content creators but as normal customer it is almost impossible to get. I was setting my alarm to 3 am and stuff like that. Nothing helped😭😅
Hi lovely, oh dear yet another let down, where do they get these prices from 😂 socks and scarf full sized 🤣🤣🤣 it’s another song, socks and scarf and another mask and playing cards that might make you laugh 😂😂😂 geez 🙈🙈🙈 lots of love hun thanks for sharing a big fat no 😆 x
I was going to make up one along the lines of "With a sock-sock here, and a sock-sock there", but my voice completely gave out 😂 I'm sorry about that! It's still not fully back yet, and I have EIGHT videos to be filmed, which should have been published LAST WEEKEND! 😂😂
😳- I’d want real gold earrings, not plated and the playing cards are a no no. Too many of the same items as last year for me plus I’m not keen on the red box, much preferred the black box from last year
Definitely! Even 12-carat, but not plated, at that price. Because, a 22-carat gold sovereign coin that weighs a whole eight grams is £505 on Royal Mint (Queen Victoria, so OLD), and the half-sovereign coin starts at a mere £250.
Now I want to go shop in that area you mentioned! Probably my tickets from the U.S. would be even more expensive than this calendar, though. Vogue has a beautiful design but it's not worth it IMO. They have some nice extras - cashmere socks sound amazing - but I could get the ones I like for less than this. A lot of this seems to be items that are expensive just to be expensive.
You should! The shop is called Jarndyce, located in Bloomsbury (insanely fun area). I love that - "expensive just to be expensive". That's exactly how it comes across, and I'm defo going to steal this for next time!
Some of the products are nice but I wouldn't buy this just because of the jewelry and playing cards and stuff. I would rather they stick to only beauty products.
Eh. The jewellery is gold PLATED in a £355 advent calendar. Even 22-carat gold coins (half sovereigns of older monarchs) are cheaper, at £253 onwards. They could surely have popped in a small 12-carat or even 8-carat piece of some kind instead?
Exactly! Even if Vogue don't want to stick to beauty alone, and include lifestyle content, it doesn't have to be socks and playing cards! There are so many "lifestyle" products that they could have sent instead of these. A nice tin of a luxurious tea brand, with assorted flavours. A little coin purse from a nice brand (Space NK once sent out Aspinal of London, and Whistles, in their gifts with purchase). Something that everyone would use, you know?
Not exciting and too expensive, most of us already have Foreo Luna (and not a mini) and Burberry Goddess and many other items in here... and if not we can pick them up on a steep sale as you said...not worth it!
Gosh. You reminded me of the time when all those silicone (and not quite silicone) cleansing brushes were all the rage! I bought the Luna for a HUGE sum from Debenhams, and got a giant hamper of samples from Lancome for free (the lady at the counter got them to give me some freebies). That was because I thought the Luna would be gentler than my Clarisonic! CLARISONIC - just, whyyyyyyy! I haven't TOUCHED either of them since... at least 2017 or so, and I cannot believe I thought they were a good idea!
@@CosmetopiaDigest I remember! lol Clarosonic is dead, Foreo still holding up 🤣 it can be quite harsh on the face I have to admit, especially if not being light handed. But I got Foreo for the body as well and I like it (as my exfoliating gloves were probably hoarding bacteria) 😊
Those filler products are just annoying! Even the scarf, it looks quite nice but if it’s a small scarf that you can’t do much with, it’s just a waste of time.

I gasped when I saw 355 insanity! People have lost their minds!!!
Right? I bet they all hit £500 (or even Chanel's £1k bomb) by the end of the decade - if not long before that!
