Please note this video is intended to give you the information you need to answer the examiner's questions at the start of your mod 2 tests, but not the detail how to service your motorcycle. The 3 random questions the examiner will chose should take no more than 60 seconds to ask and answer.

When checking the oil or brake reservoir, does the bike need to be upright and off the kick stand or just on a flat road (not a hill). Thank you.

Just double checking with for example the passenger questions where there is a list of answers, is the examiner looking for one of the answers from the list or all the answers from the list?

You will get asked just one of the passenger questions but all the answers are needed for that question.

Thanks - the general question "what might affect your balance on the motorbike?" we haven't heard asked for many years. Maybe it was due to part of the answer mentioning drink and drugs :-)

Im doing my mod2. When I show (same as in this video) how to check the kill switch is working my instructor said thats not enough as we only see the switch is moving. I had to put ignition on , kill the switch and show the bike doesnt start.
So which one is correct? 🤔

If you want to be sure it works, the engine should be on BUT I can assure you for the Mod 2 question the examiners don't need the engine to be running, you are just demonstrating how to use the switch. You can see this at the gov.uk information here www.gov.uk/government/publications/motorcycle-show-me-tell-me-vehicle-safety-questions/motorcycle-show-me-tell-me-vehicle-safety-questions.
      >>2.11 Show me how you would check the operation of the engine cut out switch.
Operate switch, without the engine being started.

Just wondering what you say if your bike is shaft drive no chain or belt, ie honda shadow vt750. Thanks.

There isn't a DVSA question for shaft drives. If you turned up on such a bike, as the examiner only asks 2 questions about the bike he would either pick a different one or else say "IF your bike had a chain how would you....etc."

Agree or disagree. But as far as I'm concerned, bike tests these days are just a money-making scam. When I was younger, you took your test on the road with one guy standing and watching you. and it must have taken half an hour. All this crap now is just to con people out of a lot of money, and I don't like being conned. I haven't passed my test, but I was riding a 250-cc for years and never had any accidents. It may be important if you intend to ride a high-powered bike but not a 250-cc There is nothing they could teach me that would make me ride any better. I'm sure it would be easier and less hassle to get your flying license. I only wish I had taken my test before they brought all this bullsh*t in.
