Brian Wilson is one of the greatest composers of all time. U can put him up with Schubert, Mozart, Beethoven, and others and he is just as good as them. I have been a BB fan since 1964 and it is 2024. When I played high school football, we listened to the BB’s while lifting weight. My head coach played bass on one the songs. My mom fell in love the the Bb’s because of. They are a part of me. Love then
What great music and performances. I ignore stories about personality clashes, etc, as they are irrelevant. Brian Wilsons writing and arrangements are brilliant and timeless.
I have listened to this over and over, they were still awesome in 2012 after 50 years. Yes, we miss Carl and Dennis. So glad David Marks was there, he is a Beach Boy and awesome lead guitar. Love how Don't back down sounded. This sound will live on well past when we are all gone.
@@darrenallen7754 agree. Though I am a total Beatles fanatic, it must be said that the Beach Boys were BASED on harmony singing and thus, Brian had emulated groups like the Four Freshmen. They still have the BB sound….even if it takes twice as many to do what the original 5 used to do!!! The best band ever ~ man we had the coolest music in the 60s!!!!
America greatest band. Wish they could play together before it is to late. My wife died in November 2018. She had brain cancer but before she died she called a radio station for free Beach Boy tickets. They called me two weeks after she died and I was struggling. I had won two tickets to see them in December in Charleston. Like lots of hard times the music, the harmonies and endless summer saved me again. Thank you!
My condolences on your wifes death. They have been known to help people pull through difficult times. Music can be the remedy that is needed. I saw them after a concert getting autographs this lady told Mike that her whole house had been burglarized and she lost everything of value but the tickets to the concert he was very kind and understanding he got the road manager to get some merchandise to give to her and her children.

The Beach Boys were never the same after Carl died. I still miss him. Brian was never the same after Dennis died and then he lost his little brother Carl.
I believe this was Brian Wilson’s best tour with the Beach boys post 1964. I don’t think he ever worked so hard… He played piano and sang on most of the songs rather than just sitting there at the piano not playing with the band doing everything. Mike along with the rest of the band sounded great on this tour.
Never tire of listening to the BB's. Fan since 1964, saw them live in 66 and 67, amazing band, reason I started surfing and still and still doing both.
These guys are the most kickass rockin' band ever. They are true innovators in the world of rock, and the world of rock can never repay them for all of the rock.
My gosh, they sound just like they did in the 1960's when these songs came out. I absolutely love the Beach Boys music and these songs, "Catch a Wave", "Hawaii", "Don't Back Down" "Surfin' Safari" Just can't get enough of their 1960's songs in particular. P.S. the 50th anniversary show was as good a musical history lesson as you could have ever wanted, and as good as any act could provide. the Beachboys and support were in fine voice, fine instrument (w all the licks, rarely missing a trick) carl and dennis and the original Brian forever missed , but what a show all the performers put on. if you were there in person, you know how good it was...if you missed the live show, enjoy the 50th through YT....so loved all the songs and the ones rarely performed. and Ive never danced so much and sang along so much at a live show. god bless that June night just a few yrs. ago.

There was something special going on in Southern California in 1963. The Surf Music era, surfing, American muscle cars, pretty girls in bikinis, hamburger stands, drive in movies, Summer weather, lemonade stands, malt shops, Diners etc. The Endless Summer Phenomenon was born and great 1960's bands formed with music unlike any other era in Rock N'Roll History. Lots of people thought The Beach Boys were a surf band. But I always considered them what we know call a doowop group. Their vocal harmonies were always so tight and with Brian then Carl doing the falsetto tenor parts they were as good as most doowop groups. Now Matt Jardine, Al's son, does the falsetto tenor parts and he's great. Bruce Johnson has been with them at least 50 years. After 57 years they are still performing and still great.
Actually, Jeff Foskett (the large guy standing to David Marks immediate right on stage) handled most of the lead and backup falsetto parts on their 2012 anniversary tour. I think he still tours part-time in Brian's backup band.

I remember sitting around on warm summer nights we had a old radio. We would listen to the beach boys half the night. Life was great and simple in the 60's...
Been a Beach Boys fan since I was 9 in 1965 or 8 in 1964 .My sister had their records the 45 RPM records !
Wow, they sound really good. What an amazing show! Brian should take a bow but seems a little dazed. But I know he's alright & it's so good to see him out in the world and on a stage where he belongs. What a musical explosion of hits they had back in the sixties. Lifetime fan here.

Their first album in my hand,,,a 33 and third big Vinyl format....THIS IS THE BEACH BOYS...50 plus years later...THE US ANSWER TO THE BRITISH INVASION>>>REMEMBER I WAS THERE>JUNIOR AT COLLEGE>THIS has to be one of the finest UPBEAT concerts EVER...NO ATTITUDE>>>JUST PURE FUN & THE OUTDOORS...I feel 21 when I listen to it.
Thank you Brian...
