    Thanks mate - just did mine. Great video. Had a question about the axle oil seal with the spring retainer. I had someone do my bearings whilst doing my suspension and afterwards I had diff oil leaking out. Opened it up and both axle seals were damaged. Are you aware of what way they are meant to be installed. I had the spring retainer side into the diff as it seemed like a leading edge.

    • @dunne_family_adventures

      Hey mate, yeh spring side towards the oil

      Cheap seals don't last long go toyota oem or terrain tamer. changing cheap seals isn't to bad on the rear but that cheap seal on front inner axle is a massive job

    @wesleymorgan5728 2 года назад +2

    Gady mate,
    Just wondering if you had to engage your rear diff lock before removing the axle?

    • @dunne_family_adventures
      @dunne_family_adventures  2 года назад

      Hey mate nah you shouldn’t have to engage diff locks to remove I don’t actually have any diff locks in mine but if yours does it should come out unlocked if you’ve got trouble removing it it may be due to a twisted axle or some other issue

    How have you found the parabolic springs mate? What make are they and load rating?
    Thanks for the vid

      Hey mate, the parabolics are great, I went with westralia springs and got the heavy duty rated ones with weight in the back I find they ride really well and quite flexible.

    Thanks for that video mate. It’s hard to find a good video in german ;)
    I discovered that my bearings are a bit loose. Do you think it’s possible to just tighten it up? I have the same problem at the front axle. I have a HZJ78
    I’m gonna tackle the issue next week.

    • @dunne_family_adventures
      @dunne_family_adventures  3 года назад +1

      G’day mate, yeh if they don’t need to be re-greased you can just tighten up the locking nuts

  • @simonilett998

    What about the axle seals? Did you forget to install the new ones? You didn't mention that during reassembly?

    • @dunne_family_adventures
      @dunne_family_adventures  2 года назад

      Hey mate thanks for pointing that out I definitely installed a new one I do talk about them when I take them but must have skipped over that bit when editing the video sorry

  • @charlesenglish5523

    Do you have to replace all hub seals if you just have to repack the bearings

    • @dunne_family_adventures
      @dunne_family_adventures  Год назад +1

      Any seal or gasket you remove you should replace as they can get damaged on removal even if it looks like they are fine it’s cheap insurance to just replace them. That’s my personal recommendation and opinion anyway

    How many KM's did you get out of them. My 76 has done 130k and the rear bearing has very little to no wear

      This video was taken at about 140k and that was the first time I had done them personally, not sure of the history before I got the car
